Story
The following information was provided by Bitty's foster mom: Bitty is a sweet little dog but also somewhat timid (it took a few days with me until she stopped tucking her tail). She loves to eat but can be a little possessive about her food. She has mastered the doggie door and is great about going outside as she needs to. She really wants a person of her own and would do great as an only dog - but is fine with other dogs. She has the most beautiful face!

Story
Tinkerbell is an adorable and rambunctious little tri-pod Chihuahua! She came to us with a badly broken rear leg that had to be amputated - but since her surgery, she hasn't skipped a beat. She's a sweet little girl and would love nothing more than a lap to nap on.

Story
Paco is an 11-year-old Chihuahua mix who is ready to leave his bad luck of 2024 behind and make 2025 his best year yet! This resilient little guy was surrendered to a local shelter through no fault of his own. The shelter described him as “fearful, shut down, and growly,” but we saw the sweet senior underneath and couldn’t say no. We quickly learned that Paco has no shortage of love to give! He’s a belly and butt rub connoisseur, an enthusiastic kisser, and a vocal little guy who lets you know when he’s excited or wants pets. While he’s not always a “jump in your lap” kind of dog, if you place him there, he’ll stay for hours of snuggles. He loves to follow his people around the house but he is also free-roam trustworthy when home alone. When you return, he’ll greet you by spinning in excited circles. Paco is the perfect gentlemen with excellent house manners. He is house-trained and great with kids and dogs, but can be a little bit intimidated by enthusiastic larger dogs and smaller kids. When Paco came into rescue, we discovered that his back legs were barely functional, he had a heart murmur, and a mast cell tumor. The mast cell tumor has been removed – it was very low grade so we don’t expect any issues, but he should be monitored for any additional lumps or bumps. A cardiology visit revealed that he has the very beginnings of a common problem in older small dogs – mitral valve regurgitation. He doesn’t need anything at this time other than yearly cardiology visits. Paco’s back legs have improved dramatically, though he is still a bit wobbly at times. Visits with his regular vet and neurology have determined that the issues with his back legs is most likely due to IVDD (disc disease). He will likely require long-term medication, but he LOVES taking his meds wrapped in cheese. He is not able to jump or use stairs, which is perfectly ok to him as he is a pro at ramps and doesn’t mind being carried. Paco is looking for a special adopter who understands his medical needs and will spoil him with love, attention, and plenty of belly rubs. If you’re ready to welcome a resilient, affectionate little guy into your life, Paco can’t wait to meet you! Paco is in foster in Loveland, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/paco You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
Piglet, because a girl by any other name, just isn’t the same. Piglet is a 2-year-old, 10 ish pounds, Chihuahua/Podengo mix by our best guesstimation. This sweetie loves to snuggle. The more blankets and warm legs to curl up in, the better. She is having a great time in foster care with feline friends and is well-suited for a home with them. Like most small dogs, she thinks the snow is the most un-fun thing about Colorado and she’d much prefer a puppy pad than dealing with that non-sense. Piglet is dog friendly but can be a little shy at first. She’d fit in a variety of homes, but probably the less hectic the better for this pooch. Piglet is in foster in Blackhawk, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/piglet You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
Trinket is a pocket-sized, Chihuahua mix. She’s approximately 4-5 years old and she weighs about 5.5-6 lbs. Trinket is an easy girl to have around. She likes being warm on cozy blankets cuddled up to other snuggly dog friends. She’s the perfect companion for your lap while you enjoy your morning coffee by the fireplace, too! Trinket is doggie door trained and seems to be fine with free roam when confined to a small room. She also lives with cats and will do fine in a home with feline friends that are accustomed to dogs. Trinket is having her dental the first week of February and will be ready to go home shortly thereafter! note: The transmitter on the collar she is wearing is for a dog door. It is not a shock collar. Story
Bruno is a 6 lbs, 3 year old, little man with a big personality. He loves to play with toys and he’s quite skilled at entertaining himself. Bruno enjoys going for walks and is very food motivated. He also may have a career as a circus performer considering how good he is at walking around on his back legs to check out what’s for dinner. Bruno loves to snuggle and is very affectionate. He has always lived with other dogs and we think he’d be happy in a home with or without another dog – he’s flexible! Bruno is being fostered in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/bruno/.
