Story
Bella is an approx 2 y/o 10# Chiweenie who was found as a stray in a small rural TX town. No one came in to claim her and she was very frightened at the shelter. She's now in a foster home in CO and is coming out of her shell. She loves to be near her person/people, sit on your lap, and sleep under the covers in the big bed. Bella now loves to play with other dogs but can get snarky if she doesn’t get to be the boss. Bella has a difficult time sharing so we are looking to place her in a home where she is the only dog or with a laid back dog who doesn’t care about her bossiness. Bella needs a secure 6 ft fenced yard as she will be a flight risk for awhile and humans who can take her out frequently. She is potty trained and crate trained. She enjoys walks and is good on the leash but will bark at people, other dogs and unfamiliar things. She had made a lot of progress with her fear barking on walks and will need her new owner to continue with her reward based training. She'd do best with someone (she prefers women over men) home during the day and no small children. She hasn't been overly barky indoors. She was curious about cats but we're not sure how should be be living with them. If interested in meeting Bella, complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms as the first step. We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home including pets. Bella is spayed, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. Her adoption fee is $375 and we are not doing any out of state adoptions.November 2, 2024, 3:49 pm

Story
Fancy is a Chihuahua and Mini American Shepard mix. She is almost 3 years old and weighs 20 pounds. She has beautiful brindle coloring and has a petite but taller body. Fancy was on the euthanasia list (pregnant) in a shelter in Texas due to space constraints. She had 4 puppies at the end of August right after we sprang her. She is very happy, kind, gentle, and playful. She loves to play with other happy playful dogs. She is very much a puppy at heart and enjoys toys. Now that dhe is done being g a mama, she gets very excited to play with her babies especially when she’s outside! Another favorite past time is chasing squirrels and bunnies. She is completely potty trained and loves going in and out the doggy door on her own. She loves human contact and enjoys curling up on the couch to snuggle, hopefully touching her person. She also loves to cuddle up on the bed at night to sleep. Fancy wants to be wherever her human is. She has a very sweet, laid-back disposition. Fancy enjoys kisses and hugs as well as trying to pull her foster mom’s socks off her feet! She should do well with dog savvy cats but she thinks they are fun to chase and bark at. She loves older kids 10+ and has not been tested around younger children. Fancy would do best with a secure fenced yard. While she appreciates daily walks and is learning to be good on a leash, she loves to run with the zoomies. Fancy is a flight risk due to her curiosity and her love of running; she currently does not have good recall. She needs a secure privacy fence as she can jump over 3 ½ feet high. Fancy wants a home with humans who will include her in their daily activities and talk to her. Fancy is spayed, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. She was infested with ticks while living in Texas and tests slightly positive for Ehrlichia and anaplasmosis but has been asymptomatic.  These are non contagious tick borne diseases. Her new family should monitor her for any signs of lameness, fever, or lethargy. If she exhibits those symptoms she needs an immediate visit to the vet. This is something that will have to be monitored for the rest of her life. She may never have these symptoms, then again, she could; there isn’t any way to predict it. Her veterinarians have stated that there isn’t any reason she can’t live a full happy life regardless. If you’re interested in meeting Fancy, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Fancy’s adoption fee is $375 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.November 26, 2024, 11:25 pm

Story
Cricket is an approx 2.5 year old, 20#, Chihuahua mix, possibly a Chiggy, from Texas. Initially he's a bit shy, but once he gets used to you he is super sweet, gentle, and affectionate.  Cricket has quickly learned to use the dog door in his foster home and LOVES his treats. He is doing very well but will need a patient person who is willing to make sure he has a regular bathroom schedule to keep him on track. He really enjoys the company of his Foster friends and foster dad and loves to snuggle as close to them as possible at night while watching TV. He has started playing with his foster siblings and proudly carrying around stuffed toys for a game of tug-o-war! He would do well in a home with another dog as long as they give him a little time to warm up. Cricket has also warmed up to walks on a leash. He is really starting to enjoy this and seems to pay very little attention to rabbits and cats while out on a stroll. He may have a difficult time warming up to kids but a respectful older child may be considered. He is neutered, up to date on his vaccines, HW-, and microchipped. He does need a fully fenced yard and is not good fit for an apartment situation. If you are interested in meeting Cricket, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Cricket's adoption fee is $375 and we are not doing any adoptions outside of Colorado.February 18, 2025, 10:34 pm

Story
Hi, I'm Sherman, an 8 year old Chihuahua mix.  I am well behaved and know sit, come, paw and down, take treats gently, good with kids and other dogs, house-trained, and sleep through the night. I like sniffing everywhere while out for walks, and smile with my lil teefers showing while waiting to harness up for a walk. My very best friend Duke and I have been together our whole lives, and are looking for a forever home together. We’re both friendly to people and other dogs, good with kids, love our walks, and well behaved.  Don't tell Duke I said this, but he is kinda a baby and he looks up (or rather down since I am the little guy) to me.  Come meet us and I assure you, you will fall in love! Their walker adds: Today I walked Duke and Sherman. This bonded-duo are sweet as pie, well mannered, and perfectly “seasoned”! They’ve been through a bit together, and are an amazing duo. Please consider adopting this adorable pair! ********PLEASE READ BELOW PRIOR TO EMAILING IN**********If you are interested in adopting this dog or any other from our rescue, please go to https://www.hobocare.org/adopt to review our home requirements and fill out an application. Please do not email and ask for more information on how to adopt, all the information is already available online. The information you see here is all that is currently available about this dog. No boxers are adopted without a completed application and home check. Thank you! ##2202034##

Story
Emergency fundraising needed! Little Thumbalina has a hernia on her diaphragm which is very dangerous as it’s fatal if (and when) it ruptures, so requires immediate surgical repair- it’s a ticking timebomb. This means she was definitely hit by a car when she was running the highway. She is also heartworm and anaplasmosis positive because when it rains it pours. Please help if you can and share! https://gofund.me/7b5ed163 Or-Please write THUMBALINA in the notes:Venmo @redfernanimalrescuePayPal redfernanimalrescue@gmail.comCash app $redfernanimalrescue Super sweet and spunky Thumbelina, or Lina for short, was saved from a highway in Texas were she was seen hugging the concrete wall, petrified, as cars sped past at high speeds. Thummbelina managed to squeeze under the drain holes in the concrete and pinned herself between two concrete barriers. We're happy this girl was lucky enough to navigate that situation and that some kind souls got her to the rescue. Thumbalina is very shy upon first meet but she’s a huge lover once she’s comfortable with you. She likes to play outside. She will play bow when she wants to play but sometimes tricks you and will roll over on her back for pets when you get close. And keep those pets coming! If you stop she will nudge you with her head or hit you with her paw into pet submission! She plays very well with other dogs but prefers submissive dogs because she feels threatened by dogs who are more mouthy. Getting cozy in bed is her favorite time of the day, but she must be a hot sleeper because she doesn’t enjoy being under blankets. She's still learning to cuddle properly-  currently she's made it to snuggling right below the back of your knee. We are looking for a family to love and cherish her. We would love to see her go to a home with another dog and children because they help her come out of her shell. Thumbalina is currently being fostered in San Antonio, Texas, patiently waiting for a committed adopter or foster to jump back on the highway, safely, headed to Denver and her new life in Colorado! Not available until the end of February. ##2267702##

Story
Jewels gave birth to Diamond and Ruby and is now ready to relax and be the baby herself. She’s a sweet girl and she loves kids- she likes to follow her foster kid around, especially when he opens the fridge. Jewels is very playful and always has a wiggly tail. One of the things she likes to play is dress up and she likes to wear bandanas. She is potty trained. Jewels is working on learning to understand the amazing things a pup gets to do when on a leash, but she isn't currently the biggest leash fan. She also prefers to have her feet planted firmly on the ground as she's not a fan of being picked up. Jewels is sparkling in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas waiting for her invitation by a committed adopter or foster to hop on the PJ (private jet) and head to Denver, Colorado where she'll have even more sunny days to shine. Not available until the end of February. ##2269017##
