Bella is an approx 2 y/o 10# Chiweenie who was found as a stray in a small rural TX town. No one came in to claim her and she was very frightened at the shelter. She's now in a foster home in CO and is coming out of her shell. She loves to be near her person/people, sit on your lap, and sleep under the covers in the big bed. Bella now loves to play with other dogs but can get snarky if she doesn’t get to be the boss. Bella has a difficult time sharing so we are looking to place her in a home where she is the only dog or with a laid back dog who doesn’t care about her bossiness. Bella needs a secure 6 ft fenced yard as she will be a flight risk for awhile and humans who can take her out frequently. She is potty trained and crate trained. She enjoys walks and is good on the leash but will bark at people, other dogs and unfamiliar things. She had made a lot of progress with her fear barking on walks and will need her new owner to continue with her reward based training. She'd do best with someone (she prefers women over men) home during the day and no small children. She hasn't been overly barky indoors. She was curious about cats but we're not sure how should be be living with them. Tom is an estimated five year old, 14 pound Applehead Chihuahua who was found with another Chihuahua Jerry, at an Autozone on the South side of San Antonio, Texas, racing across the parking lot to a hot dog stand for food. They were both covered in fleas and ticks, not neutered, and of course... no microchip. Tom is a mellow boy who loves to cuddle and snooze the day away. Put another way, he is very, very, very lazy- if allowed to sleep all day... he will. This is the perfect dog for someone out there! He is not one to play with dogs or toys. He loves human food (but watch your fingers). Tom will hang out with you in the bed if you pick him up to snuggle, otherwise he's pretty independent. He is good with other dogs, but doesn’t play, just coexists. He did have one friend- Jerry, the dog he was found with who has already been adopted in Colorado and would love to reconnect. Also good with kids. Tom is healthy, fully vaccinated and neutered now. His neuter was complicated because he's a double cryptorchid (both testicles never descended) and he required four rotten teeth to be extracted to prevent a painful infection. Tom is currently living in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas, awaiting an adopter or open foster home in Colorado to bring him up and into their home- the next transport arrives January 9th! ***Tom is being posted on behalf of our partner rescue in Texas- the process and adoption will go through them. Butterscotch was found on the streets of San Antonio, Texas. His finder posted him on Pawboost and took care of him waiting for a loving person or family to step forward and claim him. When no one stepped up Butterscotch was rehomed, only for the husband to say he was allergic and then given to our rescuer in Texas. This sweet boy just wants a home and people of his own. As a result he is a velcro dog and could use an ESH- Emotional Support Human. He wants to be held. Very food motivated. He is good with other dogs but has "little dog syndrome" so much prefers his humans. He doesn't really play with other dogs. Good with kids. Butterscotch can be a Nervous Nellie in the car, so please hold him. Butterscotch is an approximately 1-2 year (has all adult teeth and a little tartar), 4-5 pound Applehead Chihuahua.
