Story
Bella is an approx 2 y/o 10# Chiweenie who was found as a stray in a small rural TX town. No one came in to claim her and she was very frightened at the shelter. She's now in a foster home in CO and is coming out of her shell. She loves to be near her person/people, sit on your lap, and sleep under the covers in the big bed. Bella now loves to play with other dogs but can get snarky if she doesn’t get to be the boss. Bella has a difficult time sharing so we are looking to place her in a home where she is the only dog or with a laid back dog who doesn’t care about her bossiness. Bella needs a secure 6 ft fenced yard as she will be a flight risk for awhile and humans who can take her out frequently. She is potty trained and crate trained. She enjoys walks and is good on the leash but will bark at people, other dogs and unfamiliar things. She had made a lot of progress with her fear barking on walks and will need her new owner to continue with her reward based training. She'd do best with someone (she prefers women over men) home during the day and no small children. She hasn't been overly barky indoors. She was curious about cats but we're not sure how should be be living with them. If interested in meeting Bella, complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms as the first step. We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home including pets. Bella is spayed, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. Her adoption fee is $375 and we are not doing any out of state adoptions.November 2, 2024, 3:49 pm

Story
Fancy is a Chihuahua and Mini American Shepard mix. She is almost 3 years old and weighs 20 pounds. She has beautiful brindle coloring and has a petite but taller body. Fancy was on the euthanasia list (pregnant) in a shelter in Texas due to space constraints. She had 4 puppies at the end of August right after we sprang her. She is very happy, kind, gentle, and playful. She loves to play with other happy playful dogs. She is very much a puppy at heart and enjoys toys. Now that dhe is done being g a mama, she gets very excited to play with her babies especially when she’s outside! Another favorite past time is chasing squirrels and bunnies. She is completely potty trained and loves going in and out the doggy door on her own. She loves human contact and enjoys curling up on the couch to snuggle, hopefully touching her person. She also loves to cuddle up on the bed at night to sleep. Fancy wants to be wherever her human is. She has a very sweet, laid-back disposition. Fancy enjoys kisses and hugs as well as trying to pull her foster mom’s socks off her feet! She should do well with dog savvy cats but she thinks they are fun to chase and bark at. She loves older kids 10+ and has not been tested around younger children. Fancy would do best with a secure fenced yard. While she appreciates daily walks and is learning to be good on a leash, she loves to run with the zoomies. Fancy is a flight risk due to her curiosity and her love of running; she currently does not have good recall. She needs a secure privacy fence as she can jump over 3 ½ feet high. Fancy wants a home with humans who will include her in their daily activities and talk to her. Fancy is spayed, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. She was infested with ticks while living in Texas and tests slightly positive for Ehrlichia and anaplasmosis but has been asymptomatic.  These are non contagious tick borne diseases. Her new family should monitor her for any signs of lameness, fever, or lethargy. If she exhibits those symptoms she needs an immediate visit to the vet. This is something that will have to be monitored for the rest of her life. She may never have these symptoms, then again, she could; there isn’t any way to predict it. Her veterinarians have stated that there isn’t any reason she can’t live a full happy life regardless. If you’re interested in meeting Fancy, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Fancy’s adoption fee is $375 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.November 26, 2024, 11:25 pm

Story
Fancy’s All-Star country puppies are ready for adoption!! Dolly (AKA Doll Baby) is one of Fancy’s puppies.  Mom is a Chihuahua and Mini American Shepard mix. She is small framed like her mom. She was born on 8-31-24 and is now 6lbs. Dolly is the athlete of the litter. She loves to run and run some more. She is very a very sweet girl and loves to give kisses and hugs! Sometimes those kisses include a nibble or a poke in the eye as she is an energetic puppy so be prepared. She loves toys and attention. Dolly is starting to learn to go potty right away when she gets outside but will need continued consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement to continue her potty training. She still uses a potty pad when inside.  She and her litter mates sleep in a crate together and are kept in a penned area with potty pads while inside unsupervised. She does well in this situation. The entire litter is very friendly and does their best to make friends with the other pets in the household even if the other pets are not receptive– their motto is just to love them until they accept it! Dolly would enjoy a playful playmate to chase and tumble with.  Dolly can be a little assertive while playing so a good-natured tolerant housemate is advised, as Dolly, like most puppies, can be overwhelming with her energy. We have not tested Dolly with young kids but respectful kids 8 + may be considered. Dolly is spayed, utd on age appropriate vaccs, and chipped. If you are interested in meeting Dolly, you can complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms as the first step. We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Dolly’s adoption fee is $425 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.November 28, 2024, 11:14 am

Story
Hi, I'm Sherman!  I am an 8 year old Chihuahua mix.  Me and my very best friend, Duke, are looking for a forever home together.  We have been let down by our family so now we are out looking for a true forever family.  We are both very friendly to people and other dogs.  Don't tell Duke I said this, but he is kinda a baby and he looks up (or rather down since I am the little guy) to me.  Come meet us and I can assure you, you will fall in love! Their walker adds: Today I walked Duke and Sherman. This bonded-duo are sweet as pie, well mannered, and perfectly “seasoned”! They’ve been through a bit together, and are an amazing duo. Please consider fostering, or adopting, this adorable pair! ********PLEASE READ BELOW PRIOR TO EMAILING IN**********If you are interested in adopting this dog or any other from our rescue, please go to https://www.hobocare.org/adopt to review our home requirements and fill out an application. Story
In the midst of a huge tropical storm brewing along the gulf coast of Texas, Cosmo and Wanda, possibly his mother, were tossed out by their owner because 'they no longer wanted them.' The neglect was obvious on their small frames- ribs showing from malnutrition and no vetting ever afforded. They never would have survived the elements on their own; luckily they were evacuated from the danger zone and marked safe as Red Fern dogs. But Cosmo wasn't out of the woods yet. While Wanda was ready to make her journey to Colorado, Cosmo was severely underweight due to neglect and suffering an injured, swollen wrist that lasted over a month before diagnosed as a sublaxation of the wrist- his tendons and joints partially separated on his front leg requiring four weeks of treatment and weekly bandages. Cosmo risked amputation if the treatment didn't work. Luckily, after a few months of tender love and care from his amazing San Antonio rescuer and foster mama, Cosmo is ready to make a new life for himself in Colorado! Cosmo will require a high calorie diet, at least in the immediate future, to compensate for the neglect he suffered early on, but he has made great strides getting up to a hefty five pounds and has a bright life ahead of him! Cosmo has a common Chi/small dog ailment- luxating patella, a common orthopedic condition in dogs that occurs when the kneecap (patella) moves out of its normal groove in the femur. Luckily Cosmo's is low grade so it doesn't warrant surgery and he does not need any physical therapy, medication or treatments at this time. That's not to say he might need some extra care in his senior years. He also has an angular limb deformity of his front left leg- basically one ankle bigger than the other. Many small dog and Chihuahua owners will be familiar with the former and understand this is very common and no reason to not welcome this sweet guy into your home! Cosmo loves to cuddle, even being a little selfish and possessive of his person- who doesn't want all that love? He is good with dogs and cats and currently living with both including smols and bigs! He also used to cuddle with the kiddo in his San Antonio foster home so kid approved! Cosmo is being fostered in Colorado. ##2186272##

Story
Meet Beethoven, a lively 2-year-old Chihuahua/Pug mix who’s looking for a loving home. Beethoven is a people-loving pup who thrives on human companionship and is full of playful energy. He is closely bonded to Elsa, who may even be his mother, and he tends to look for her when they’re apart. Though Beethoven can be a bit aggressive with other dogs, he is a true sweetheart with people and has no medical concerns. He was found abandoned with Elsa in an apartment after his previous family moved out, and they were rescued by a landlord who brought them to a shelter. Beethoven is ready to bring joy and affection into a home where he can continue to be the playful and loving dog he is, ideally with Elsa by his side. He’s eager to find a family who can provide him with the love and attention he deserves.
