Story
In the wake of their owner's unforeseen passing, Poppy and her fellow pets were taken in by the San Juan County Sheriff's Department. Despite multiple contacts with the owner's family, no one was willing to provide a home, leading to an extended shelter stay. Thankfully, several pets were adopted by local individuals, but after a week, three remained in need of placement. We then offered to provide care and assistance in finding them secure, warm, and loving homes.   With her petite frame of 11 lbs, Poppy is a beacon of hope, demonstrating that even the tiniest can possess a boundless heart. As she adapts to her new environment, Poppy is gradually emerging from her shell, revealing a loving and affectionate spirit. Presently, she's basking in the warmth of cuddles on the couch and the pleasure of good scratches.    If you can provide a warm, safe space for this little pipsqueak to fully recover emotionally, please submit an application on our website.  ##2262371##

Story
Violet is a 6 year old, almost 20 lb chihuahua mix with a major identity crisis. She's got the big ears and little head of a chihuahua, but a barrel chest, curly tail, and snorts that scream pug. And let's not forget that underbite!   Violet needs a hot second to get comfy with new stuff, but once she claims you as her own, you're stuck with her forever. She's officially a stage five clinger, and her people are her people. She's especially clingy with women. Don't let her small size fool you, she's the self-appointed guardian of the house. She's always looking for ways to get higher ground and keep an eye on things.   Other dogs? No problem. Kids are cool if they're mellow. Cats? We'll get back to you.   Ready to make this plucky girl a part of your posse? Get that application in, pronto!   Backstory: Following the unexpected passing of their owner, Violet and her fellow pets were taken into custody by the San Juan County Sheriff's Department. Despite multiple attempts to contact the owner's family, no one was willing to provide a home, resulting in their continued stay at the shelter. Fortunately, a few were adopted by local residents, but after a week, three pets remained. We subsequently offered to provide a safe haven to facilitate their placement in warm and loving homes. ##2262373##

Story
Upon the sudden discovery of their owner's passing, Rosie and the remainder of her furry family were taken in by the San Juan County Sheriff's Department. Despite numerous outreach efforts to the owner's family, none were willing to assume responsibility, leaving the pups in the pound. Thankfully, several were adopted by community members, but three remained after a week. We then stepped in to provide interim care, aiming to secure safe, warm, and nurturing homes.   Rosie's resilience is inspiring as she settles into her foster home, leaving her traumatic past behind. She's tackling everyday challenges head-on, from getting used to household noises to trusting her caregivers. While fans, lights, and ice makers still startle her, she's making tremendous strides. And when fear takes hold, a minor accident is a reminder that she's still healing, but on the path to a brighter future.   This lovely little gem deserves a special home, and we believe that together, we can find the ideal environment for her. Rosie is bound to steal your heart and snuggle her way into your lap.   Hop on over to our website to learn more about Rosie, and to apply to adopt! ##2262369##
