Story
Soulful Emma is ready for her fresh start! Emma is estimated to be around 7-8 years old, and she is a loving girl who is happiest when she can be on someone's lap. She is the epitome of a darling little old lady, and she is ready to spend her golden years being spoiled like the little princess she is. Emma currently weighs about 7lbs, but could benefit from gaining a little weight. Emma came to us after she was at risk of euthanasia at a NorCal animal shelter. When she was examined for her spay surgery, they discovered she had a heart condition called P atent Ductus Arteriosus. She needed surgery, but the shelter was unable to provide it. We were so grateful that a generous donor stepped up to cover the costs of her surgery. She is now cured from her heart condition and ready to find her fur-ever home! Emma is a mellow gal who enjoys the simple things in life: tasty food, cuddles, and sunbathing. She is a true lap dog who can typically be found cuddling in someone's lap. She thrives on being the center of attention and would be a great little buddy for a retired person who needs a low-energy companion. She enjoys her short walks, but is way more interested in being cozy at home. Emma has done well living with other small, mellow dogs. She definitely would love being the only dog, but she has learned how to share the spotlight. We haven't seen Emma around cats, but we think she would do well living with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction. Due to her fragile size, Emma would do best in an adult-only home. Emma has been doing great with her housetraining, but may have a few accidents while she is acclimating to a new home and routine. She has done very well being crated or free roaming when left home alone for short periods. She is happy to sleep in her crate or in bed with you if you let her. Emma could do well living in an apartment. Emma has a few health concerns, including dental disease. She will need a dental cleaning and some extractions in her new home. She has luxating patellas in both knees, but doesn't require any treatment at this time. Emma's heart condition doesn't require any treatment since she had her surgery. Emma has been through a lot, and she deserves a great family to shower her with love. If you think that may be you, fill out an application today!   Emma's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. March 18, 2026, 8:38 pm

Cash is a 6 year old male, 20 lbs, house trained sweet dog. I adopted Cash when he was 4 months from Hop Along Adoption. Due to severe allergies, I need to rehome Cash. He is good with other pets after his nerves settle, he is really playful and loves hugs. I have a small grand daughter and he is good with her, follows her around. Story
âœ¨ ADOPTABLE LEGEND ALERT ✨ Meet Harpy — 7 lbs of chiweenie chaos, comedy, and cuddles. Once upon a time, a shelter guessed Harpy was ~4 years old… not because of his teeth, but because of his attitude Plot twist: he’s probably more like 1–2 years old and was just having a ✨rough chapter✨. Let’s talk lore Size: 7 lbs (portable, TSA-sized demon) Age: Young-ish (emotionally ancient in the shelter, youthful gremlin at home) Vision: Very sight-impaired but not fully blind — vibes > visuals Vet visits: Spicy. Especially when thermometers are involved. Don’t we all relate? Past life: Adopted into a loud, busy home with lots of kids/animals → briefly became The Exorcist Current life: Foster home in Sacramento = COMEDY GOLD In his foster home, Harpy has revealed his true form: ✔ Loves humans, visitors, 3 dogs, and 2 cats ✔ Obsessed with toys and being included in literally everything ✔ LOVES walks ✔ Car rides = dramatic whining… unless he’s in foster dad’s lap (problem solved) ✔ Lives for mealtime ✔ Pee pad trained + goes outside (but yeah, accidents happen if access is denied) ✔ Communicates exclusively in chiweenie commentary ✔ Sleeps burrowed under blankets 100% of the time ✔ Will crawl into clean laundry and cause near-death experiences ✔ Sleeps belly-up, balls-out, without shame Medical note : Harpy has corneal edema, but it’s not painful and currently requires no eye drops. Important update from the foster files : Harpy was only away from his foster home ONE night, where he turned into Linda Blair, and in the several weeks since returning, this alleged shape-shifter has shown ZERO signs of possession. The demon era appears to be… over. ➡️ for now. Location: Sacramento Meet him where he feels safe and hilarious — not scared and spicy — so you can see the real Harpy experience. We do not recommend a home with young children. Older calm children that can allow him time to decompress and warm up is OK. Same goes for adults because some adults just can't help themselves either when something is that freaking adorable (Guilty) If you’re open to loving a formerly possessed demon trapped in the body of the Toy Story slinky, send us an email.! Harpy is ready to steal your blankets, your laundry, and your heart. We are on all social media at @umbrellaofhope and we invite you to follow us and share which helps more people see and adopt our pets.  To help our ALL VOLUNTEER team rescue more senior, special needs, medically needy and hospice animals (and a few 'typical' ones along the way, please consider making a tax-deductible (TAX ID 45-4103375) donation online at www.paypal.me/UOH or Venmo @umbrellaof-hoperescue or Zelle beourpet@gmail.com.   You can also buy tees, tanks. sweatshirts, hats and bandannas where all proceeds benefit our animals https://ruff-life-rescue-wear.myshopify.com/collections/umbrella-of-hope We also have an Etsy store where the merchandise is made by volunteers and supporters, changes regularly and 100% of the proceeds benefit our medical fund https://www.etsy.com/shop/Umbrellaofhope Amazon Wish List tinyurl.com/pineapplewish  April 13, 2026, 12:43 pm

Story
Wanted: A Human (or Two) for a Tiny Dictator Are you experienced in the fine art of being completely owned by a very spicy 8-lb Chihuahua? Excellent. Your future boss is accepting applications. This 10-year-old pocket-sized queen is looking for a person or couple she can fully manage. Her job description for you includes: • Providing snacks on demand (she is a serious foodie) • Delivering affection only when she requests it • Respecting her personal space when she is feeling spicy • Understanding that treats are the only acceptable negotiation tactic Let’s be clear about house rules: No kids No other pets (competition for attention will not be tolerated) spicyChihuahua-savvy humans only Patience required to help her slowly dial down the spice level She was recently spayed and had a hernia repaired. She does have another very small hernia that wasn’t repaired due to its size and may need attention in the future. She also needs senior lab work, which we are happy to cover if completed at your vet. In return, you’ll get a hilarious, opinionated, snack-loving little character who will run your household with tiny but mighty authority. She is currently being fostered in Sacramento, CA, and foster-to-adopt is an option for brave applicants. Think you have what it takes to serve a spicy senior Chihuahua? Send us an email at: beourpet@gmail.com If you dare.    GENERAL INFO:   Housebroken?: Yes, we think so Crate Trained?: Yes Leash Trained?: Yes Rides Well in Car?: Yes Non-Shedding?: No but low shed Good with cats?: Yes, we think so Good with dogs?: Yes Qualifies for Seniors for Seniors?: yes Umbrella of Hope does not have any strict rules on ages of children because all children are different, but our best approximation is that this animal would do best with children over the age of 12 Umbrella of Hope is an all-volunteer, donation-run, non-profit animal rescue based out of Pittsburg, CA that rescues animals from local shelters, places them in private foster homes, provides them with needed medical care and then finds them new homes.  Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee. All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for parasites and given any additional treatments (dental work, bloodwork etc) as recommended by our vet.  Adoptions to veterans of the US Armed Services are ALWAYS free to thank you for your service.   We thank Well Pet Vet Clinic for providing most of our veterinary services and give a special thanks to volunteer photographers Tanya, Barbara, Kristy, Christine, Teressa and Natalie.
