Story
Penny came to us after her owner passed away. After spending her whole life with her mom, we could tell she was a bit sad and anxious to start over in a new environment. But, Penny found comfort in people and quickly attached to her foster mom (she especially loves women). She likes to give lots of kisses, snuggle, sit in a lap or lay on the backrest of the couch, and she enjoys sleeping in bed with her person. She can be home alone, but she would like someone who is home often or can bring her along when going out. She does great in the car! She's a little insecure right now so she likes to stay near her person to make sure she won't lose them again, but we are confident that she will relax once she is in a home for awhile and knows you aren't going to leave her! When she gets comfortable, she will leave your side and enjoys being active. She likes to play, chase lizards and will hop in the air after moths and flies. She would enjoy going for hikes, walks through the neighborhood or hanging out at a coffee shop. Penny has gotten along with everyone she has met so far, but we have not had her around children yet. Based on her temperament, we think she would do best with older or no kids. She does well with other dogs, but isn't a fan of cats. She definitely prefers people over anyone and would be fine as the only pet. Penny is a 12lb, 6 year old (but acts much younger) Chihuahua. She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She is in great shape and healthy. She can be picky with her food, but is still a good weight. Penny dislikes being in a crate and will break out if put in one, but she does alright being left to roam in the house. She whines a bit right after you leave, but then just curls up on the couch until you get back. She is housebroken and not destructive. Story
Beatrix and Remy were adopted from us years ago. Their family was forced to move somewhere pets aren't allowed and these two were returned to our rescue. They have spent most of their lives together and we would like them to stay together in their next home. Beatrix especially relies on Remy and loves to cuddle with him. Remy (white and tan) is an 11 year old little Chihuahua. He is all about the people. He is really adorable when he runs over to give kisses and rolls all over when he gets attention. He's a little ham. He enjoys spending his day cuddling and taking naps. He really doesn't care about our other dogs, but he does sometimes play with Beatrix. He doesn't like our big dogs or cats much and will bark at or chase them off, but he has no issues with our small pups. Beatrix (Brindle) is a 10 year old Chihuahua. She is a bit more active than Remy but can be a little more shy with people at first. She isn't a lap dog, but she likes to curl up next to someone and will sometimes even go under the blanket with you. She (and Remy) sleep in bed with their foster mom. Unlike Remy, Beatrix loves other dogs. She wants to befriend them all and would love to play with them. She also enjoys cuddling with another dog (usually Remy). She doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She has never snarled or growled at anyone. She is always submissive and will even give up food or toys to anyone who wants them. They are both goofy, sweet dogs. They don't require a lot of exercise and actually prefer to stay home. Beatrix gets particularly nervous in a car. They do fine at home with just a couple of toys and will wrestle with each other for a few mins each day. Neither are very energetic, but they do get excited during meal time (especially Beatrix). They both got a clean bill of health from the vet and recently had a dental where most of their teeth were pulled so they eat soft food. They have great appetites! Remy and Beatrix are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. They are housebroken and crate trained but need to go out regularly. They do fine left alone roaming in a house and usually just sleep on the couch until someone comes home. They lived with babies and toddlers in their previous home, but, due to their age, we would love to find them a more quiet home to retire in. Jack was a rescue, originally found in Las Vegas with severe damage to his right eye, which was then removed. He needs to be an only pet in the household and he really prefers woman. He is suddenly not getting along with my other dogs, so he now needs to be seperated from them. The Vet has worked him up and started him on 2 antianxiety medications. They seem to help, but take 2 hous to kick in. We are sad to have to rehome him, but are afraid one of the dogs will be seriously hurt. He loves walks and cuddles and gets along fine with my 13 year old dog, just not the younger ones. Please consider Jack if you are experienced with anxious dogs.

Gracie came to us after almost losing her life at our vet office for no medically sound reason. Her owner just couldn’t have her around anymore. Luckily our vet gave us a call and asked if we could take her as putting her to sleep was the last thing she needed! Aside from some allergies that are being treated with medications, this girl has a clean bill of health. At 9 years old, her attitude and spunk makes it clear she has a lot of life to live and love to give! Gracie is a dream. She is independent and can happily be by herself but takes any chance she gets to be by your side. She does great on walks with minimal pulling, does wonderful in the car (just sleeps on her bed), and enjoys being around other dogs (although is happy without them as well). She’s a happy girl who is always smiling and wagging her tail so fast you’d think she could fly. Sleeps through the night, potty trained, treat motivated, and a cuddle queen. Gracie seems very comfortable with a crate as well. Come meet this special little love! $100 adoption fee/fee waived for seniors (65+) adopting senior pets (8+)
