He’s only 10lbs currently and we don’t expect him to reach over 20lbs full grown. He’s essentially a pocket pittie with all the sugar and spice you’d expect from his breed blend. This adorable little guy is going to charm you with his stunning grey eyes and beautiful silvery grey coat. He’s pretty chill for a young boy but still has enough spunk to be fun. We know there’s someone out there who loves pitties but really needs a smaller size and Tucker is going to be the perfect fit for you! Can you believe this gorgeous boy was brought into the shelter as an underage baby? He went into foster care for awhile and is now back at our ranch making friends with a few of the other young dogs. Ranch staff are working on the training basics while we work to find Tucker his forever home. Tucker has been great with dogs his size but needs time to adjust to the bigger guys. He’s so small we think their size intimidates him. He’s a touch shy but loves human interaction so it doesn’t take long to win him over. He’s also very treat motivated which is helpful when working on his training skills. Fred may not be visibly perfect and he may no longer have the body of a young dog but his soul gives what his appearance can not. This boy loves with his whole entire heart! If his old bones would allow it he’d be in your lap every second of every day. He wants nothing more than to be with you and for him that time, that little bit of attention is enough. He’s the kindest old man and we are determined to find him a family who will give him the caring end of life he so deserves. A retirement filled with soft places he can rest his tired bones and more love that his larger than life heart can handle. Fred was part of a group of 13 senior dogs who lost their long time rescuer when she went on hospice. She was no longer able to care for her animals and they all needed a soft place to land. All 13 are now in foster care with us and waiting for loving forever homes. Fred is part of this crew and looking for a home that understands that he’s an old dog in an old dogs body and our goal is just to keep him comfortable and happy for the time he has left. Fred is significantly overweight. More to love right? But the reality is that extra weight puts a strain on his aging bones. We’ve got him on a reduced calorie diet plan and his future adopter should continue this diet in the future. Fred is also currently being treated for an eye issue and walks with a tilt to his head. The tilt is nothing we can fix and only adds to his old man charm. Fred will never be perfect but we can promise if you open your heart and open your home the love he’ll give in return will last a lifetime. We hope we can find him a kind human who will do just that! He’ll prance his little self right into your life whether you’re interested or not. His goofy enthusiasm is infectious and even if you don’t want love he’s going to make sure you get some. No lap is off limits and if you resist you’ll have 16lbs of chugaliciosness plastered across your body. He dances for butt rubs and rolls himself into every blanket he can find. He’s the perfect blend of every goofy quality a pug can possess with the longer nose and persistent nature of his chihuahua heritage. Charlie is a riot! And maybe this will be a little cliche but Charlie was found hiding in the bushes by one of our local Taco Bell’s. No yo quiero Taco Bell for this dude but he did find a kind off duty vet staff member who picked him up and saved his life. So many of these dumped dogs perish on the streets and Charlie is now one of the lucky ones who will get his 2nd Chance. Charlie is happy and pushy and learning all about basic rules and boundaries in foster care. He’d thrive in a home where there are at least a few basic rules and where his canine friends won’t be offended by his forward nature. He loves to play and anything toy or food related are his absolute favorite things. He’s got that zest for life that we love and has never known a stranger. Charlie is working on his house training skills and has finally figured out that crates aren’t all that bad. I mean you gentlemen are ok if there’s no other option but Brooke is all about the #girlpower and bonds quickly to the women in her life. She loves them all! If you’re a woman she’s going to want to be your very best friend! I wonder if we can find sweet Brooke a lovely lady to call her own? She’s not a man hater by any means just has an obvious preference that we think we can accommodate. Brooke was picked up as a stray by our county shelter. While small dogs aren’t in as much risk as the larger pups they can still be euthanized for space. Brooke’s darker coat meant she was less likely to stand out and more likely to be overlooked. This meant she was the perfect candidate for a rescue pull as we can give her the time she needs to get noticed. Brooke has headed into foster care and has quickly settled in. Initially a bit shy Brooke’s real personality comes out once she’s comfortable. She’s sweet, affectionate and wants nothing more than to be with the people she loves. Young children make her nervous. Their loud active energy is a lot for her and we feel she’d do best in a home with older respectful children who know to give her some space. She tolerates other dogs but would love to have the humans to herself and she’s not a fan of kitty friends. Brooke is quickly picking up both house and crate training in her foster home and has already mastered the dog door. She’s got lots of “hops” for such a small dog so secure and tall fencing is a must. Brooke is ready to find her humans and she’s hoping that at least one of those humans is the lady friend she’s been wishing for. Let’s make it happen! He has a very sweet and lovable personality, but is a little shy in the beginning. With a little patience he warms up quickly though and is very affectionate. Recently thought he got diagnosed with diabetes and needs two insulin shots a day. He is doing very good with them and can live comfortably with it if properly monitored. He is very quiet and mellow and will make a wonderful addition to a loving person or family.Tom is about 9 years old, neutered, vaccinated had a dental. The were left behind when their drug addicted owner got evicted. He had them tied up in a dark room of the house with our food or water. They were rescued by a kind neighbor who had too many dogs already at her place and couldn't keep them. She contacted us and fortunately space had just opened and we couldn't say no. Simba is very shy and fearful but super sweet and gentle. He will warm up to TLC and loves to be held. He needs a person that will understand his shy personality and can give him a quiet home and patience. He is about 6 years old and weighs about 12 pounds. I rescued him from a family that was taking him to a high kill shelter, I didn’t want that to happen. I have been trying to find him a loving home for over a year with no luck. I have 3 big dogs over 100 pounds so I can not keep him. I do not want to give him to just anyone. He is high energy, needs attention as Chihuahuas do. He is a love bug but does not like being alone. He is not fully potty trained but when he goes outside frequently, he will not soil in the house. I want him to be loved and cared for, I refuse to take him to the shelter as and rescues I have reached out to have no openings. Only inquire if you are serious about making the life long commitment. He is skeptical of other people so it will take him time to warm up to you. He will try and run until he gets used to you. My daughter is his main caretaker, and she was with him due to doing online schooling, now she works long hours so I want him to be with someone that will give him the attention he needs.

Bubbles came to us on Giving Tuesday 2023 from the City of Bakersfield Animal Care Center. Hi! I'm Bubbles. I'm one-third of the Powerpuff Girl's Trio! I love hangin with the other girls. We just play and play! Sometimes we get a little too crazy with our toys (and sometimes our beds and blankies even) and they end up getting torn up. So the humans got us some tough toys, but those aren't as fun as the stuff that tears apart! So, now we gotta be supervised with anything soft. But I love the humans too! Sometimes I can be scared when I'm picked up or touched, but then I come to realize "it's okay, these people are nice to me." But I still can get nervous about it. I love jumping up and giving kisses to the humans. And if one of the other girls is gets pets, then of course I gotta scoot in and get some too! I'm hoping to go to a family that will be caring and patient with me, a family that will keep me busy/active, and give plenty of cuddles!

That’s all she wants and like most super senior pups her care needs are all about keeping her comfortable and happy. She’s a simple girl and just wants the simple things for the time she has left. At only 7lbs she doesn’t take up much space and she promises she’s as quiet as a mouse. Foxy was part of a group of 13 senior dogs who lost their long time rescuer when she went on hospice. Foxy is part of this crew and looking for the perfect retirement home to call her own. She isn’t perfect. No senior pup is. Her balance isn’t perfect and she walks with a head tilt and will circle a bit in new environments. But once she’s acclimated the circling is much less and she enjoys short little walks in her home and yard. She’s has a sweet and loving personality and is hopeful the right family will love her just the way she is and not expect the perfection that comes with youth. She’s dog friendly and pretty easy all things considered. If you’re looking to open your home to a senior and give them the end of life they deserve Foxy would love to go home with you.
