Story
Hi! I'm Bon Bon, a senior pup with a zest for life! Don't let my age fool you; I'm as loving and energetic as ever. I love a good cuddly moment together while still being able to enjoy my independence. I get uncomfortable being picked up, so I would do best in a home with children 10+ that understand my need for gentle interactions. I'm on a mission to slim down a bit, so I'm ready for all the walks and playtime you can handle! Adopting me means gaining a loyal friend who brings joy and laughter into your home! Good news, I qualify for Foster to Adopt! Please speak to a SPCA staff member for more information. I am eligible for a Doggy Day Out, apply at www.spcamc.org/day-out to take me on an outing! Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 16.6 Age: 10yrs 1mths 4wks

Story
Looks like: Chihuahua mix Female, 13 years old (estimated), 8 pounds Darling Adele is a tiny Chihuahua lady with so much love to give! This sweet pup is on the lookout for a lap to lie in and a person to hang out with. She does well around other dogs but is not a big fan of kitties. Her foster reports that Adele has really come out of her shell since her arrival to POMDR. She is a quiet pup, only making silly vocalizations when she's excited! Adele loves to follow her favorite people around the house. She is still wary of loud noises, and is looking for a calm and loving forever home to live out her golden years. Adele joined us from San Jose Animal Services after she was found as a stray. We're excited to see her blossom in her next home. Could that be with you?

Story
Looks like: Rat Terrier, Chihuahua mix Female, 11 years old (estimated), 14 pounds Katara may not be a waterbender, but she will completely melt your heart! This petite sweetheart has the kind of soulful eyes and joyful tail wags that make every bit of patience worth it. While her past is a bit of a mystery, we do know she' been bravely learning to trust- and once you're in her circle, you're in. Katara forms deep, loyal bonds and absolutely lives for cuddles with her person. She's a thoughtful, sensitive girl who prefers a calmer home where she can truly relax and shine (honestly, same). Katara does wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys their company, though she appreciates having her own space at mealtime. She's currently building confidence with sharing her favorite humans and cozy spots, and she's already making great progress with the right guidance. Katara would do best in an adult home where her gentle nature can be respected. She does have a chronic UTI that can occasionally cause some urinary leakage, but she's being well-managed and cared for- and her adopters will be set up with everything they need to keep her comfortable and thriving. And here's where she really shines: Katara is an absolute dream on leash, loves a good car ride, and has the perfect mix of playful energy and snuggly couch companion. She's the kind of dog who will quietly become your whole world- and make it so much brighter. This sweetheart joined us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services after being surrendered to the shelter for being "too old." She's looking for a home where she can live out her golden years in peace.

Story
Looks like: Chihuahua, Beagle mix Male, 9 years old (estimated), 20 pounds Moose is a sweet boy with a calm spirit and an easygoing charm that makes him an absolute joy to be around. He warms up to his people quickly and forms gentle, affectionate bonds, happily settling in and enjoying the comfort of being near his humans. Moose would prefer to be a solo pet, where he can soak up all the love and enjoy a peaceful, predictable environment. Naturally mellow and soft hearted, Moose is low maintenance and easy to please. He is a fan of quiet companionship, cozy naps, and having a safe place to rest his head. He is just hoping for a soft bed, a kind human, and a home where he can truly feel secure. Whether you are a first time dog guardian or a seasoned pet parent looking for a calm companion, Moose fits right in. If you are searching for a low key, lovable little buddy who will gently steal your heart, Moose may be your perfect match. Come meet this sweet boy and see for yourself! This darling senior joined us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services. With the shelter at capacity and considering his golden years status, it was felt that Moose would thrive best in a senior focused rescue while he waits to find his forever family.

Story
Looks like: Chihuahua Male, 9 years old (estimated), 10 pounds Just like his namesake, Chocolate Chunk is a comforting classic with just the right amount of sweetness. Don't let his "senior" label fool you, this boy still has plenty of pep in his step! He may be a distinguished treat, but he's far from crumbly. Chocolate Chunk loves getting out for walks and would thrive in an active home where he can stretch his legs, feel the breeze, and be included in daily adventures. He's the kind of pup who's happiest when he's part of the mix, a true family recipe essential. Chocolate Chunk is wonderfully easygoing. He has that calm, steady presence that makes you instantly relax. Whether you're heading out for a stroll, hanging out in the yard, or winding down at the end of the day, he's content just being by your side. Even sweeter? He's great with other dogs! He blends beautifully into a pack. His friendly, gentle nature makes him an easy addition to just about any home. Chunk joined us after he landed at Contra Costa Animal Services as a stray. Due to the shelter's full status and his senior age, he was the perfect addition to the POMDR pack!
