Story
This handsome little fellow is Bruno! He is an approximately 4 month old, Jack Russell/Parson Russell/Chihuahua mix (our best guess). We are estimating that he will get close to 25lbs. Bruno came to us when an independent rescuer we work with was notified about a dog that was dumped out of a car window in front of a Walmart. Thankfully, a kind person got him to safety and reached out for help. We were asked if we could take him and we said yes! Bruno is such a lovable, fun, and playful pup! He gets along with other dogs and definitely must have another young and playful dog in the home. He can't be an "only" dog. We are looking for a home with owners that are not gone long hours during the day and that are puppy savvy. A safe and secure backyard is a big plus for this happy puppy! Bruno had a terrible first few months of his life, so we want to find him the most perfect forever home out there! Please contact us at: gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020 Bruno is vaccinated, microchipped, and will be neutered at the appropriate age. We only adopt in the Greater Los Angeles Areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. This handsome little fellow is Bruno! Hi! We are Mallory and Valerie, a dynamic furry bonded pair full of love and affection to share. I'm Mallory, a 6-year-old sweetheart, and I, Valerie, am 1 year old, full of puppy charm. We were transferred from Harbor to the WLA shelter with three other siblings. We are exceptionally cuddly and affectionate. We LOVE to be nestled side by side and frequently exchange licks and kisses. When it comes to potty skills, we are pros! No accidents for us! We are very smart and listen to commands and directions well. We can't wait to find our forever home together! https://www.muchlove.org/animals/valerie-%26-mallory

Story
Hi! We’re Mallory and Valerie, a loving, inseparable duo looking for a family to call our own. Here’s a little about us: Mallory (8 years old): Hi, I’m Mallory! I’m calm, gentle, and love snuggling with my people. I get along great with all kids and am housebroken and pee pad trained (though I sometimes miss the pad). I love walks, sunbathing, and being close to my family. I’m a sweet, affectionate girl who will always seek out your attention! Valerie (4 years old): I’m Valerie, the younger sister. I’m a bit shy at first, but I warm up quickly and love affection. I do best with calm kids (10+ years old) and am great around other dogs once I settle down. I don’t get along with cats, though. I also enjoy walks and sunbathing with my humans. Our Bond:We’re very close and love being together, but we also love our people! We’ll always seek your attention and affection, making us the perfect companions. What We’re Looking For:We’re hoping for a calm, loving home where we can be together and receive lots of attention. If you think we’d be a good match, we’d love to meet you! With love, Mallory & Valerie🐾❤️

Story
Hi, I’m Brownie! I’m a little guy, just 18 months old, and I weigh in at a perfect 10 pounds. I’m a Chihuahua, so I’m small but full of personality — once I get comfortable, of course! I can be a bit shy at first, especially around new people or situations, but once I feel safe, I’ll show you what a loyal, sweet companion I can be. I’m housebroken, so I know how to do my business outside like a good boy. I’m also really good about being on my own when I need to be, so I don’t have separation anxiety — I’m okay with a little space, and I don’t cause any trouble when you’re away. What I really want more than anything is a loving family who will give me the time I need to warm up to them. I’m looking for a calm, peaceful environment where I can feel secure and happy. A little patience and understanding go a long way with me — and once I trust you, I’ll be your little buddy for life. If you think we might be a good fit, I’d love to meet you! Let’s see if we can make each other’s day a little brighter. Love, Brownie

Story
I was left behind on a property with two other canine friends. These lucky girls already found their forever homes. I’m still looking. I’ve been told that I’m very sweet and cute. I’m initially a bit shy but warm up and trust quickly. I’m a cuddler and like to give gentle kisses. I feel comfortable around calm people. While I wouldn’t call myself a social butterfly, I get along with other doggies just fine. I’m ready to meet my forever family. Might it be you? If you are interested in meeting Nadia, please download the Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and email it back to us at info@farescue.org or fax (310) 362-0321. You can also meet this and/or other available dogs at our weekend adoptions. [Nadia is about 2 years old and weighs 13 lbs.] (2410)

Story
Is a night in with a quiet companion something you enjoy? Well, Heath might just be the pup you are looking for! He enjoys hanging out in his own space, lounging in the sun, or napping in his crate. Heath wouldn't mind if you joined him quietly, reading a book or watching a movie while you both indulge in safe snacks! This shy guy is still learning how to be in the company of humans, so a calm environment will really help him thrive. Patience and time are what he really craves for him to blossom.

Story
Every day, Aster grows more curious and braver about the world around him. He enjoys playing with toys, or chewing on safe bones while he relaxes on a comfortable bed. Aster is not confident around people and would love a slow-paced environment to allow him to explore on his own terms. He needs time and patience to come out and show you the happy playful pup he really is.

Story
Amelia (Mia) is a very gentle, quiet and well behaved little lady. She is active, entertaining and curious but not a barker. Amelia loves to lay in the sun so a yard is mandatory for her. She would also like to sleep in bed with you at night. Once past the hurdle of her natural shyness with people who are new to her, Mia is friendly and extremely affectionate. She loves to be cuddled and would like to be a lapdog. Mia may be initially shy and skittish so she will need some patience. It took her about three months to really come out of her shell and become comfortable and confident in her foster home. As soon as she warms up to you though she wants to be your little shadow. Amelia would prefer a quiet household without much food traffic and no small children. It would be great if there is another calm dog in the household already since Mia loves to cuddle up to her doggy friends whenever possible. While Mia is housebroken, she does still need attention paid to make sure she is let out of the house to relieve herself. She will use training pads in the house if necessary. Mia is about 9 years old, she weighs 9 lbs., she is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all her shots. Our vet assumes that she is a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix.

Story
SHORTY is a lovely cream/blond color, 9 pound, senior boy Deer Head Chihuahua (about 12 years) whose senior human dad passed away, leaving Shorty and his four little girl companions, Cookie, Millie, Poopsy, and Missy, without their dad. They all get along really well, are house trained, and also know to use pads to do their business indoors, and at night, and when it's raining or very cold out. They are not barkers, only barking to warn that someone is at or near the front door, and then they settle down again. They are great with cats because their housemates have been six (6) cats! If shown a lot of affection and understanding when welcomed into their new homes, we are sure these lovely kiddos will do well in a loving new home even if they don’t stay together. IMPORTANT NOTE: Recently the number of deaths from hungry coyote attacks has greatly increased. Coyotes can climb 10 foot fences with a small to medium sized dog in their jaws. This happens in broad daylight in the middle of the day, and on trails while hiking with your dog on a leash, it is truly unbelievable, and we have frightening first-hand accounts. We are listing these lovely pups to help their current foster/rescue in finding them wonderful new homes. Shorty is neutered, all four girl pups are spayed, and all of them current on vaccines. To learn more about Shorty (or Cookie, Millie, Poopsy, and Missy), please contact us at: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (also our PayPal email for donations and sponsorships).

Story
**PLEASE READ BIO THOROUGHLY BEFORE INQUIRING-ALL REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET** Meet Dante! This little approximately 6 year old, 7lb Red Pomeranian is the cutest little pocket pup ever! Dante needs a very specific home so please read his bio thoroughly before inquiring. Dante can be described as a spitfire, alpha, silly, and loving. He's basically a dominant little guy with a big attitude. We are looking for prior Pomeranian savvy owners that know the breed well. Dante would do best in a home where he is the only dog or where there is only one or two others at the most. He does not do well in a chaotic home or a large pack. He also needs an adult only home as he can be bitey/nippy at times when he gets alpha or when he thinks he's being playful. The most important thing to know is that Dante needs a home with a safe/secure yard where he can hang out and go potty as he will absolutely not walk on leash and is perfectly fine just being with you in the home or hanging out in the backyard. We need him in a home where he has owners that are patient, loving, and will give him the time he needs to just feel safe and secure in his new surroundings. A home where he is allowed on the furniture with you and that will provide dog ramps for safety is exactly what he needs. We have had a full blood panel done, full vaccines, had him neutered, and a full dental with extractions done. Due to having some extractions we need him in a home that will incorporate a home cooked based type diet into his moistened small kibble and/or wet food. Please note that Pomeranians do need daily brushing and grooming every 6-8 weeks. Once Dante has the time he needs to decompress and acclimate, he will be your best friend and love you forever! We only adopt in the Greater Los Angeles Areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Dantes adoption fee is $600. Dante is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. Please contact us at: gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020
