Story
Just wants to be loved...that's our Toby! Toby is a 1 year old, 15lb, male, Chiweenie that is all about cuddles and love! He came to us when he was found on the streets abandoned and all alone...most likely dumped. A kind woman took him in and was able to get him scanned for a microchip (he didn't have one) and neutered. He was also treated for bite wounds on his body and foxtails embedded in his paws. Sadly, Toby had to go to a boarding facility as she couldn't keep dogs at her home. During that time she reached out to us to see if we could take him into our foundation...and we said yes! When we picked him up, we noticed something wrong with his eyes. He was squinting and looked to be in pain. We rushed him to our vet/specialist and he was indeed in so much pain that they had to sedate him just to examine. He was diagnosed with a deep ulcer in one eye and extreme dry eyes in both. He was sent to his foster with 3 medications to be given 3x a day for a month. He is now perfectly healed and doing amazingly! We are looking for a very patient, loving, and nurturing home for our sweet boy. We know from experience that he will come to you very scared and will do low growling. It took his foster mom 2 days before he felt safe with her and her family, but once he knew everything was ok....he was all about the love! Toby definitely needs another young and playful dog in the home! He is AMAZING with other dogs and seems to love them all! He is also great with older kids 13 and older. This playful pup definitely needs a safe and secure backyard to run around and play in. He gets the hang of potty training right away with outdoor access. Potential adopters must realize he is still considered young and in the puppy stage and does like to chew on things like your shoes, etc. Toby was most likely mistreated by men in his life as he is a little stand offish with them, but will open up with time. He is going to being shut down at meet/greets and will growl, but trust us when we tell you it only takes like 2 days for him to feel safe and loved, so we are looking for a home for him that will not give up quickly on him and give him that time he needs.... It will definitely be worth while! Toby is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. We only adopt in the Greater Los Angeles Areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us at: gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020

Story
This little beauty is Twiggy! She is a 6 month old, Chihuahua/Terrier mix that is about 10lbs. Twiggy came to us with her sister, Bridgette, a cream colored Chihuahua/Terrier mix that came to us as owner surrenders. We would absolutely love and be thrilled if the girls could be adopted together, but we would also consider adopting them out separately if there was another young dog in the home for them to play with. Twiggy is a sweet, loving, and playful puppy that is a little shy at first till she feels safe and comfortable. We are looking for a home for her with owners that are not gone long hours during the day and have a safe and secure yard for her to run around in. Twiggy is absolutely stunning in person. She looks like a little mini black Labrador that really deserves the best forever home out there! Twiggy is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped. We only adopt in the Greater LA areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us at gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020

This little princess is Bridgette and she is a 6 month old, 10lb, Chihuahua/Terrier mix that is the most sweetest dog ever! Bridgette came to us with her sister, Twiggy, and we would love nothing more than to see them adopted together, but we would also consider separating them if there was another sweet dog in the home. Adopting Bridgette and Twiggy together is perfect because they are already bonded and get along wonderfully, so they are a perfect pair! Bridgette is a sweet, loving, and very playful dog that definitely needs a safe and secure backyard to run around in. We are looking for a home for her that has owners that are not gone long hours during the day. Bridgette is such a perfect little dog and we know that her perfect forever home is out there! Hi! We are Mallory and Valerie, a dynamic furry bonded pair full of love and affection to share. I'm Mallory, a 6-year-old sweetheart, and I, Valerie, am 1 year old, full of puppy charm. We were transferred from Harbor to the WLA shelter with three other siblings. We are exceptionally cuddly and affectionate. We LOVE to be nestled side by side and frequently exchange licks and kisses. When it comes to potty skills, we are pros! No accidents for us! We are very smart and listen to commands and directions well. We can't wait to find our forever home together! https://www.muchlove.org/animals/valerie-%26-mallory

Story
Hi! We’re Mallory and Valerie, a loving, inseparable duo looking for a family to call our own. Here’s a little about us: Mallory (8 years old): Hi, I’m Mallory! I’m calm, gentle, and love snuggling with my people. I get along great with all kids and am housebroken and pee pad trained (though I sometimes miss the pad). I love walks, sunbathing, and being close to my family. I’m a sweet, affectionate girl who will always seek out your attention! Valerie (4 years old): I’m Valerie, the younger sister. I’m a bit shy at first, but I warm up quickly and love affection. I do best with calm kids (10+ years old) and am great around other dogs once I settle down. I don’t get along with cats, though. I also enjoy walks and sunbathing with my humans. Our Bond:We’re very close and love being together, but we also love our people! We’ll always seek your attention and affection, making us the perfect companions. What We’re Looking For:We’re hoping for a calm, loving home where we can be together and receive lots of attention. If you think we’d be a good match, we’d love to meet you! With love, Mallory & Valerie🐾❤️

I was left behind on a property with two other canine friends. These lucky girls already found their forever homes. I’m still looking. I’ve been told that I’m very sweet and cute. I’m initially a bit shy but warm up and trust quickly. I’m a cuddler and like to give gentle kisses. I feel comfortable around calm people. While I wouldn’t call myself a social butterfly, I get along with other doggies just fine. I’m ready to meet my forever family. Might it be you? If you are interested in meeting Nadia, please download the Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and email it back to us at info@farescue.org or fax (310) 362-0321. You can also meet this and/or other available dogs at our weekend adoptions. [Nadia is about 2 years old and weighs 13 lbs.] (2410)

Story
Amelia (Mia) is a very gentle, quiet and well behaved little lady. She is active, entertaining and curious but not a barker. Amelia loves to lay in the sun so a yard is mandatory for her. She would also like to sleep in bed with you at night. Once past the hurdle of her natural shyness with people who are new to her, Mia is friendly and extremely affectionate. She loves to be cuddled and would like to be a lapdog. Mia may be initially shy and skittish so she will need some patience. It took her about three months to really come out of her shell and become comfortable and confident in her foster home. As soon as she warms up to you though she wants to be your little shadow. Amelia would prefer a quiet household without much food traffic and no small children. It would be great if there is another calm dog in the household already since Mia loves to cuddle up to her doggy friends whenever possible. While Mia is housebroken, she does still need attention paid to make sure she is let out of the house to relieve herself. She will use training pads in the house if necessary. Mia is about 9 years old, she weighs 9 lbs., she is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all her shots. Our vet assumes that she is a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix.

Story
SHORTY is a lovely cream/blond color, 9 pound, senior boy Deer Head Chihuahua (about 12 years) whose senior human dad passed away, leaving Shorty and his four little girl companions, Cookie, Millie, Poopsy, and Missy, without their dad. They all get along really well, are house trained, and also know to use pads to do their business indoors, and at night, and when it's raining or very cold out. They are not barkers, only barking to warn that someone is at or near the front door, and then they settle down again. They are great with cats because their housemates have been six (6) cats! If shown a lot of affection and understanding when welcomed into their new homes, we are sure these lovely kiddos will do well in a loving new home even if they don’t stay together. IMPORTANT NOTE: Recently the number of deaths from hungry coyote attacks has greatly increased. Coyotes can climb 10 foot fences with a small to medium sized dog in their jaws. This happens in broad daylight in the middle of the day, and on trails while hiking with your dog on a leash, it is truly unbelievable, and we have frightening first-hand accounts. We are listing these lovely pups to help their current foster/rescue in finding them wonderful new homes. Shorty is neutered, all four girl pups are spayed, and all of them current on vaccines. To learn more about Shorty (or Cookie, Millie, Poopsy, and Missy), please contact us at: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (also our PayPal email for donations and sponsorships).

Story
This little pocket pup is Dante! He is a 6 year old, 7lb red Pomeranian that is the cutest thing ever! Dante needs a very specific home so please read his bio thoroughly before inquiring. We are looking for a home for him where he is the only dog or he can be in a home with another calm, sweet dog. He does not do well in chaos or a large pack. We are also looking for prior Pomeranian owners that know the breed well. Dante would do best in a home with owners that work from home or are not gone long hours during the day. Most importantly, people inquiring need to know that Dante is a dog that needs a home with a yard because he is a dog that cannot go on walks. He absolutely will not walk on leash and trust us when we say we worked with dog walkers and they all the same thing...he just needs to go into a home where the owners have a yard for him to go potty and do not care if they have a dog that can go on walks or not. He is also a little temperamental about his collar being adjusted/pulled etc so potential adopted need to be aware of that and know they will have to go really slow in that area. Dante is VERY loving once he feels safe and will want to be near you, so a home that allows pets on the furniture is a must and he will require a dog ramp/dog stairs to the furniture. Dante is a good eater and a good watch dog. He does bark when someone comes to/through the door, but quiets down quickly. An adult only home is a must for this petite little guy as he is very tiny and fragile. We love this little guy and you will too! Dante is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and had a full dental done recently. We only adopt in the Greater LA areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us for more info at gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020
