Story
Meet me at the mobile adoption event on Saturday, May 16th at Pet Food Express Alameda from 12-3pm (unless adopted before 3pm). An onsite sign-in sheet will open one hour prior to the event. (I'm being fostered in the East Bay)Cheddar is a small, adorable chihuahua-pug? mix. She can be shy at first with new folks and new dogs, but as we have exposed her to more friendly two-legged and four-legged friends she has gotten much more outgoing and warms up very quickly. She absolutely loves her people though, and her favorite thing is a warm lap for snuggling, preferable under a blanket. She is a playful, curious, social little girl. Cheddar is working on her house training and almost exclusively pees in the backyard as long as she is taken out regularly. Her poops are hit and miss - many times outside, sometimes inside when the mood strikes. But she's getting better with more oversight and reward for outside #2s. She's very food motivated which is great for training. There is nothing she loves more than getting her "tinky treat" for going potty outside. Cheddar is a very small, slender girl and therefore can be a bit fragile. I don't think a home with young children would work unless they are VERY gentle. Also, Cheddar can be vocal when she gets too excited and her bark is very loud and piercing. We're working on her manners and ways to channel her energy when she gets over-excited. However, I also don't think that apartment living would be feasible for her unless you have very understanding neighbors. Cheddar has been diagnosed with a heart murmur due to a small hole in her heart.  Over time the murmur has been shown to have improved; she has had no additional symptoms and should live a normal life.  We recommend a cardiology follow up in about a year to check on her status, but most likely she will not need further intervention beyond that. According to the cardiologist, it is possible for the hole to seal up entirely as she continues to grow. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Black Weight: 7.16 Age: 0yrs 5mths 1wks

Story
Playful, athletic, fun, loving pups! Although small in size they are big in personality. These pups will thrive in an active home that has time for socialization and consistent training. Magnolia's foster shared the following: Magnolia (nickname Mouse) is a sweet and easy going little darling. One of the smallest in the litter, she runs and wrestles just as hard as her siblings, but she is the first to head to bed for a nap and the last to get up. She likes to curl up in my lap while the rest are still jumping around. Born and raised with love in foster homes, she is friendly, curious, clever, adventurous, playful, and affectionate. Magnolia adores the resident terrier (while respecting his boundaries) and has hung out with a giant Bernese Mountain dog without fear. She's had a play yard with all kinds of objects and materials to climb and play with, and supervised free play in the garden, which has made her confident when going about the world. She shows no anxiety and easily shares her food and toys. She is learning to come on command and is very treat motivated. She has very short sleek fur and is all white except for her ear.

Story
Forrest is a 2-year-old, small male Chihuahua mix. Forrest may have a more classic, understated look, but his sweet personality and gentle charm quickly make him stand out in all the right ways. Like many Chihuahua mixes, Forrest is loyal, observant, and deeply connected to his people. He has a low to moderate energy level and enjoys a mix of light activity and cozy downtime. Forrest is affectionate and happiest when he’s close to his humans, often content to relax nearby and keep you company. On a daily basis, Forrest does well with short walks and a consistent routine. He enjoys exploring at his own pace and then settling in for quiet time, making him an easy companion for a variety of lifestyles. Forrest is friendly and enjoys being around people. With his attentive nature, he forms strong bonds and thrives in a home where he feels safe and included. He is continuing to build confidence in new environments and will benefit from patience, gentle guidance, and positive reinforcement as he settles in. Forrest would do best in a home that appreciates the loyal, companion-focused nature of a Chihuahua mix and can provide consistency, comfort, and connection. Come meet Forrest and see how special he truly is.
