***BONDED PAIR WITH GROMIT*** LONG TERM FOSTER NOTES: "I am currently fostering Wallace and Gromit. Since I'm going to college in August, I would love to find them their forever home. Since being with me, I have seen Wallace and Gromit go from being so fearful of everything to being curious and loving doggies. Wallace is the the most scared compared to Gromit, but he loves being around my dog Dahlia and hanging out with me when I watch tv. He's so sweet and gentle, and deserves to go to a home where he can continue to come out of his shell. Gromit loves his snuggles in front of the fireplace. His favorite activities are hanging out in the sun and playing with his toys. Both Wallace and Gromit have grown quite fond of my big dog Dahlia. The three love playing together and going on in my front yard to bird watch. I'm sad that I have to give them back, but I can't wait for them to come out of their shells and be loving and trusting doggies. I know the family they go to will love them and be patient with them as they start the next chapter in their life." One of two shy brothers who came up from Bakersfield, though were not at all adoption candidates, Basically close to feral upon arrival - they had been trapped.... poor little guys, never had the kindness or comforts of a loving home, or caring people. Wallace and Gromit need to be adopted together....slowly they are coming out of their shells, learning to trust! WE welcome volunteers to come sit with them and offer cheese, hot dogs, tasty morsels....and love!

Story
Meet Luisa! She has quite the personality for a small dog. Luisa would love a home where it's just her and her people. She would love a yard where she can sunbathe and relax in. She needs a single dog home where there aren't many people coming in and out. She has some fear of some (larger typically) men - and does do okay with smaller dogs usually though is possessive of her person, so it is easiest for her to be solo and she will dote on you!

Story
Baxter is a people's dog! Here's what one of our wonderful volunteers had to say about him after a hike! "I took Baxter out for a hike today with my dog and he was great on leash. He is excellent with other dogs, non reactive and played well with my dog on the beach. He is friendly and comes over to you if you crouch down and took treats. He was noticeably nervous getting in and out of the car, but was fine once we got going. He definitely needs some confidence building in changing environments but is a great size guy and will make a great addition to an experienced dog owner home."

Story
Irene is a sweet girl with a big heart in a giant world. She is very shy and gets easily scared. She will need a family that can move slow and approach with ease. Irene is very sweet and needs a loving home that can give her the feeling of security, and lots of love. She is a total sweetheart and loves to cuddle. Notes from her foster: We're the foster family for Irene. I wanted to give you an update on her. We've had her a little over two months and I am happy to say she is settling in and calming down, I think, around us. She is especially fond of my 16 y/o daughter, her sister and me, and she is warming up to my husband after overcoming a lot of suspicion that he was the big bad wolf! She is a brave doggie. Once she knows everyone she loves being around people and will hop and play in mornings and when we come back. She still has a ways to go on a few issues. She still has big separation anxiety. Even leaving her for about an hour can be stressful for her. So we are keeping an eye out for a very patient, experienced owner-to-be who maybe has a few folks in household who can share responsibility of keeping her company as often as possible. She likes walks, especially in nature, like the Tilden Park near our house. In fact, the more big outdoor walks, the calmer she is. It could be that she might do well with a second friendly smallish dog to hang with. But not sure. Certainly she is super shy and scared around big dogs. (12/2024)
