Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $600 Vienna Sausage is a 5 year old Chihuahua mix who was a rescue from the shelter. She's a petite lil gal who weighs about 12 lbs. She's one of those dogs who may not quite stand out from the crowd at first glance, but she has the most amazing personality and is the kind of dog that everyone would want to own!  Vienna is a total sweetheart. She bonded quickly with her foster family, a multigenerational household (grandparents on site). She is a little nervous when she first meets a new person but she warms up pretty quickly, especially with treats. She loves to cuddle and rests on the sofa with us all day, and sleeps on the 9-year-old’s bed at night with him. She does not follow her folks from room to room, but perks up and watches when they go into the kitchen. She loves to go on outings and she is very calm. She rode around in the cart at Ikea one busy day and curiously watched all the activity. She's ready for adventures, wherever they may take you! Vienna eats breakfast when she gets back from her morning walk and jumps back onto the bed where her doggie bed and heating pad are. She rests there while the family gets ready for their day. Sometimes she stays home with her cat brother. She is happy to stay in a crate when the family goes out if she doesn’t go along. She cries a little but settles down quickly. She goes out for short walks in the yard all throughout the day. She eats dinner around 5pm and then goes out for another longer walk. Vienna has the perfect balance of playful and lazy: She is a mix- she loves to lounge but also wants to engage in play sometimes too! Vienna will use potty pads and also tells her foster when she needs to go out. Her bladder is small because she is so tiny! She has access to potty pads during the night and uses them reliably.   She is crate trained. The first night, as soon as the lights went off, she jumped off the bed and into her crate on her own! Since then her fosters have had her sleep with them on the beds because they love to cuddle with her, but she would happily sleep in the crate if that is what her new person prefers. Foster mama says: 'She’s so stinkin’ cute and tiny- when we come in the door, she wiggles around in excitement and pins her ears back. I think it’s funny when she runs at the cat but then when she gets to him, just stops because she realizes he’s twice her size! The cat just looks at her in amusement.' Vienna could be your work from home buddy. She could be an office dog. She could stay home while you work! She could be in a home with dogs and/or cats, or she could be your one and only. She's quite versatile! Vienna is an option for any type of home that is ready and willing to spoil her rotten. She is an option for kids over the age of 6; smaller ones might startle and scare her.        January 30, 2025, 7:31 pm

Story
If you want a fun sidekick, with the cutest forehead wrinkles, the longest little legs and a nose for adventure, meet Dot! Dot was the tiniest pup in her litter but she made her presence known! Dot was born under a shed to a very sweet abandoned mama chihuahua mix who did a good job of keeping her little babies safe and warm. When mama and her 2 week old puppies were discovered, we brought them to safety where they were raised in a loving foster home. Dot is a confident girl, who loves to learn, is super motivated for treats and its just hard not to look at her and smile or laugh at her antics. She might be a good candidate for agility as she has lots of energy and likes to explore! She loves her walks and we are working on her leash manners. Dot will need a watchful eye as she likes to adventure. Once the wiggles are out, Dot is a world class snuggler and is super affectionate. Dot is crate trained and potty trained in her foster home but as with any new situation, dogs/puppies will have accidents and there will be adjustment period as they learn their new environment.

Story
Meet Evie, a Sweet Senior Seeking Her Forever Home! This adorable 9-year-old mix is looking for a loving family to spoil her rotten! Evie is a total cuddle bug who loves to be near her people. She's blind in one eye from a cataract, but it doesn't cause her any discomfort or medical issues, and she navigates her world with ease! This sweet girl is still full of life and enjoys exploring her surroundings. Evie is housebroken and gets along well with other dogs. She would be a wonderful companion for a family who can give her lots of love and attention. Due to an unexpected job change, I need to move internationally, I am sadly unable to take Evie with me. I am seeking a responsible and loving home for this special girl. If you think you can provide Evie with a happy and comfortable forever home, please contact me at liao.yu.ke@gmail.com or 734-358-2308.
