Story

Fozzie was adopted from a local shelter back in February, when he was just 6 months old. In July, Fozzie's Mom knew something was wrong and took Fozzie to her vet. He was diagnosed with epilepsy and was put on medication. The medication has made a world of difference for Fozzie and he's living large and feeling good. But his Mom is having a hard time. To prevent Fozzie from having further seizures, he must get his two medications three times a day. Keeping Fozzie on this schedule has been challenging for his Mom, and she has decided that it's best due to his medical condition that he be rehomed to a person/family who can more easily and more reliably keep him on schedule. Here's what we know about Fozzie: 14 months old 20lbs UTD on vaccinations - good thru February 2024 Neutered Microchipped DNA test revealed the following top five breeds: 39% Chihuahua, 14% dachshund, 11% Min Pin, 8% Poodle, 5% Mini Schnauzer Good with kids, other dogs and dog savvy cats Active boy who enjoys playing fetch and going for walks, tho he is still learning leash manners Knows some basic obedience commands, such as "sit" and "down" Enjoys playing with toys Fozzie is a great companion and loves to cuddle Interested in meeting Fozzie? April is a darling little chihuahua mix puppy. She was born around 3/1/2024 and currently weighs 11 lbs. April is affectionate, sweet, smart and playful. She enjoys romping around the house and yard with her dog buddies. She likes to play with her toys, chew on her bully sticks and other chewy treats. She likes to splash around in the water on warm days and is a pretty good little swimmer. She has plenty of puppy energy and will make you laugh with her silly antics. She loves her people and enjoys couch time with them in the evenings. April currently lives with other dogs of various sizes and she gets along well with them. She also lives with dog savvy cats and is respectful with them. Young children would likely overwhelm her so only dog savvy, respectful children over 10 are recommended. She is an alert barker and loves her yard so no apartments for her. She likely would not do well left home alone daily for long hours. April is crate trained, doing well with potty training and is learning to walk on a leash. April would do well in a home with a yard and a young, playful companion dog to romp around with. Lainey is a sweet, 9 pound Chihuahua mix estimated to be born around 2/2024. She is an agile climber and loves to run. She wants you to know she is the fastest zoomier in town, hands down. She came from a hoarding situation and she and her sisters were very unsocialized, but not aggressive, when they came into rescue. Lainey warmed up quickly to her foster mom and seeks out attention, a lap cuddle and pets. She is still shy when first meeting strangers, but treats go a long way. She is a typical barky chihuahua. She barks when she’s protecting her loved ones from “bad guys”, nervous or excited, so her family has to be okay with that. She enjoys playing with the small breed puppies in her foster home, but can be guardy with food and toys. Shes doing great with potty training with regular reminders. She barks at cats, so it’s better for her to be in a cat-free home. She would do best in a home with another friendly, playful dog. Lainey would prefer a family that is home the majority of the day. She needs a secure, zoomie worthy yard. She would do best with children over 10, who are respectful and understand how to be gentle and patient with a shy dog. Cash is a darling little chihuahua mix puppy. He was born around 4/15/24 and is currently 15 lbs. His ideal home would be with a yard, another playful dog and kids over 12. Cash is affectionate, cuddly and very playful. He has plenty of puppy energy and loves to romp around playing chase and tug with his dog buddies. He truly enjoys the swim pond on warm days. He will splash and play in the water, is a good little swimmer and will occasionally float on a raft. He loves his stuffed toys, anything with a squeaker and chasing a ball. Cash is crate trained, doing well with house training and learning to walk politely on a leash. He can be shy with strangers and new dogs but has shown he will warm up with slow introductions. He becomes attached to his humans and likely would not do well being left home alone daily for long hours. He likes to be a large part of his family’s life and enjoys being included in daily activities. He will happily follow his humans around the house and yard. In the evening he likes to cuddle on the couch with his people and dog buddies. He is a comical little guy who will keep you laughing with his silly antics. He currently lives with dogs of various ages and sizes and does well with them. He seems to do best with friendly, playful, young dogs who won’t get overly annoyed with his puppy exuberance. He also lives with dog savvy cats and is respectful with them but he might challenge shy kitties and chase if they run. Due to his small size young children would likely overwhelm him so only dog savvy, respectful children over 12 are recommended. He is an alert barker and loves a yard so no apartments for him. I found Mary two days before the Fourth of July in 2022. I tried to locate her owners for a couple months but was unsuccessful. Mary is a very sweet dog who loves to snuggle in bed at night. She is an indoor/outdoor dog that has been allowed to sleep on the bed and on the furniture in her snuggle bed. She likes a lot of attention and would be a great pet for a retired couple or someone who works from home. She gets a little anxious being alone for too long. She walks nice on a leash, but has room to improve. With more training, she could be a great walker. I have two other dogs, therefore I did not walk her on a leash very much. She likes to play fetch in the backyard. When I found her, the vet figured she was about one years old so she’s probably now going on 3 1/2 years old. She is current on all of her vaccines as of November 2, 2024. She is 17 pounds.. She’s a very loving dog, however where I’m moving is not suitable for a dog. I would love to see her go to a loving home.
