Story
Honey was abandoned and very nervous at the distant shelter with her six newborn pups 8/24/24. She was shaking and of course protective of her puppies at a very noisy shelter with barking dogs and strangers. With time she warmed up with staff and enjoyed lap time with staff when away from her pups but still nervous. She wanted to go back to her pups right away. She is a great mom. Once our foster home took them home on 9/3/24 Honey warmed up fast and is now very sweet and friendly. She and her pups have a quiet room to keep isolated away from foster home's dogs and cats. Pups will not be ready until after vet care at 8 weeks old. So about Oct. 15th. More photos and info. to come. 9/26/24 Update: Her puppies are now about 7 weeks old and all super adorable. All healthy eating and playful. Soon Honey will need her own foster home for TLC. She was good meeting foster home's dog when away from her puppies. She is very people affectionate and loves lap time. Happy and calm at home. 10/11/24: Without her pups at her current foster home she now plays with their dog. Ignores their 2 cats. Lovable with people and enjoys attention. Loves treats agile and learning commands for a treat. Knows sit now. Honey is now in her next foster home after vet exam and treatments 11/2/24. She is already comfortable at her new foster home. Honey is a sweetie and did great at her previous home with many other dogs and 2 cats (ignored them). She had her vet exam and got ear infection meds packed for 2 weeks Cytopoint injection for itch Clavamox and Malaseb medical shampoo to bath her. 11/7/24 update from her 2nd Foster Home. Honey had a bit of a rough patch after she was abandoned at a rural shelter with her 6 newborn pups (don’t get me started on whoever dumped her there ð&#194&#159¤¬). Thanks to her first foster home transporter and vets she made it to us! Now that her 'Honey Litter' pups are ready to find their own forever loving homes it’s time for Honey to relax learn be spoiled get some love and attention all to herself. She unfortunately has some ear and skin infections which are making her uncomfortable but with a course of ear packs medicated baths antibiotics healthy food and lots of TLC she’ll be right as rain in no time â&#194&#157¤ï¸&#194&#143. Please help us find Honey her perfect forever family! . ð&#194&#159&#194&#144¾ð&#194&#159&#194&#144¾November 18, 2024, 12:53 am

Story
Coco is a 3 year old Chihuahua originally from Wisconsin. He is a very sweet boy and loves to cuddle but is also very mischievous and would benefit from a lot of training that unfortunately I don't have time to devote right now. Coco loves to play with his toys and his dog siblings but requires some time to get comfortable with new dogs and can be a bit aggressive with unfamiliar pets at first. He would do best in a patient, caring home without children.

Long-Haired Chihuahua Mix Age: 3-5 years Male, neutered 11 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) PLEASE NOTE: We do not adopt any of our dogs out to families with children under the age of 13. Here is what Bodhi’s foster family has to say about him: “Meet our foster dog, Bodhi. He's a Heinz 57 of dogs, a little bit of everything. Bodhi is a character, and can be a little quirky. It took him a week before he wanted to have anything to do with us. After that week, he came out of his shell. He is a loving dog, that would be great in a home with 1-2 adults, no children. He would do great being the only dog. He can be a lap guarder, and he does not like to share said lap with other dogs. Bodhi is great on leash walks, and he is getting used to hanging out in the yard while I garden. When we started bringing him outside, he would do his business and then go back inside. Now, he is learning to hang out outside and relax. When Bodhi gets excited, he becomes a bit of mouthy player. (He does not bite down.) Just to add some observations from Bodhi’s previous foster home - he is pretty much a “one person” or “one family” dog. He is not too keen on interacting with strangers (visitors to your home or out in public). Potential adopters should be prepared to give Bodhi time to adjust to a new environment and new owners. He will likely take at least a couple weeks to trust and feel comfortable. It won't happen overnight. For more information about Bodhi, contact nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com

Story
Chihuahuas Age: 4 yrs / 1 yr Females, spayed 9 / 7 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Kanga and Roo came to us from the San Mateo SPCA. Kanga wasn’t at risk, and would have been available for adoption at the shelter. However, her surviving puppy (the other one died at the shelter), Roo, was special needs and was still nursing, so we had to take Kanga and the puppy, Roo, together. After separating them for a while once Roo was weaned, we decided to put them back together after Roo recovered from her surgeries. Kanga came from a very bad hoarding situation. She was very underweight (which probably contributed to the poor condition of her two puppies). She is very healthy now, and ready to be adopted. Roo showed signs of congenital birth defects in her legs (not surprising, given her rough start). Three of her legs were “good enough” for mobility, while the 4th leg was pretty messed up. We decided to do a series of surgeries to realign the bones on the worst leg. She is fully recovered and gets around pretty good (although, not sure that she could take long walks - maybe a stroller is in her future?) Kanga can be very shy and cautious when meeting new people, but when she does feel comfortable, she is super sweet and affectionate. Roo, as a puppy, loves everyone. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Kanga & Roo, contact nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com

Story
Chihuahua Age: Senior Female, spayed 3.5 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Pixie was picked up by animal control on the streets of Hayward. While at the shelter, she gave a lot of “mixed messages” to the staff. “I want to play” “I am a happy little girl” “Touch me and lose a finger” etc. So the shelter reached out to us to rescue her. She has bonded with the foster dad, and allows him to handle her. Everyone else in the home, however, needs to use caution when interacting with her. It is very common for these small dogs to be a ONE PERSON ONLY dog and Pixie fits that description. Although a lot of the time she is pretty stoic, the foster home is starting to see some of her playful side with the other dogs. Pixie does fine with other small dogs. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Pixie, contact nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com

Story
Chihuahua Mix Age: > 1 yrs old Male, neutered 7 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Charlie was dropped off at the Berkeley Animal Shelter by someone who initially stated that they “found him.” Then it was discovered that person actually had the dog for a couple of months, so it was treated as an “owner surrender.” He has no real use of his back legs. They were froze/locked in a rigid position, so he used them to steady his back end, but he wasn’t able to actually move them in any useful way. X-rays of his spine showed a major deformity that he was likely born with. The shelter didn’t have the resources to care for this kind of disability. They called us before making the decision to euthanize him. We have determined that Charlie is incontinent (bowels and bladder) due to his condition. He mostly gets around by dragging his hind legs, and occasionally using his legs as “crutches”. The foster family hasn’t done a lot of work on getting him to use a wheelchair/cart. As a puppy he is very playful. He had to learn a lot of puppy manners while interacting with the other dogs in the home. He is doing pretty well in that area. Charlie would do well in a home with other friendly, playful dogs his size. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Charlie, contact: nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com

Story
Chihuahua Age: Senior (12) Female, spayed 9 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Penny was brought to the shelter by someone who found her. She was already spayed and microchipped, but the person who answered the chip’s registered phone number (from 2012) supposedly wasn’t the owner. The finder claimed that Penny bit them as they were capturing her (not uncommon), and for that reason she was flagged with a bite history which means no other rescue group would help her. Even though she was available for adoption at the shelter, no one was interested, probably because she needed dental surgery. So the shelter called us. There have been no incidents of biting while at the shelter or in her foster home with Nobody’s Perfekt Dogs. We did the dental surgery - she went in with 7 remaining teeth, now she has only 2. Penny is a sweet gal, mellow, doesn’t seem to mind dogs her own size (not too keen on the large puppies in the rescue bothering her during adoption events). She would make a great companion for someone looking for an easy dog. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13.
