Story
Bucky came into our lives about 6 years ago. We adopted him because we wanted our other dog to have a small buddy. Bucky is certainly an anxious dog and tends to be attached to one person. He’s sweet and wants to be with you 24/7. Our family dynamic has evolved and just haven’t have the time and/or resources to dedicate to him. He does great if you work from home or am retired and need a pal. He does great with other dogs and cats! Sleeps a good chunk of the days. And for a Chihuahua, he’s very quiet! Rarely barks or yaps. He does whine though when he’s away from his person or if he needs to go out. We just wish we can dedicate more time to him.

Story
Lainey is a sweet, 9 pound Chihuahua mix estimated to be born around 2/2024. She is an agile climber and loves to run. She wants you to know she is the fastest zoomier in town, hands down. She came from a hoarding situation and she and her sisters were very unsocialized, but not aggressive, when they came into rescue. Lainey warmed up quickly to her foster mom and seeks out attention, a lap cuddle and pets. She is still shy when first meeting strangers, but treats go a long way. She is a typical barky chihuahua. She barks when she’s protecting her loved ones from “bad guys”, nervous or excited, so her family has to be okay with that. She enjoys playing with the small breed puppies in her foster home, but can be guardy with food and toys. Shes doing great with potty training with regular reminders. She barks at cats, so it’s better for her to be in a cat-free home. She would do best in a home with another friendly, playful dog. Lainey would prefer a family that is home the majority of the day. She needs a secure, zoomie worthy yard. She would do best with children over 10, who are respectful and understand how to be gentle and patient with a shy dog. Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Ronan! Born on 10/17, Ronan is a bottle-fed sweetheart who thrives on human attention. With his stunning seal-colored coat and a personality that's the perfect mix of sass and snuggles, he’s sure to steal your heart. Ronan’s mom weighed 45 pounds, but we suspect his dad was a smaller breed, so we anticipate he’ll stay on the smaller side—but no promises! He’s been raised alongside a pack of dogs and would love a home with another energetic pup to roughhouse with. Ronan is smart, playful, and full of charm. After a good round of zoomies, he’ll crawl onto your chest, ready to be your personal cuddle buddy. If you’re looking for a lifelong companion to keep you laughing and love you endlessly, Ronan is your guy!   You can apply online at:AdoptPet - Recycled Pets NorCalVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 21, 2024, 1:55 pm

Story
Black Jack is a sweet little chihuahua mix. He was born around August 2023 and is 10 lbs. Black Jack is playful, affectionate, smart and loyal. He can be shy when meeting new people and dogs but has shown he can warm up with slow introductions and treats. He is medium energy and enjoys romping around with other friendly, playful dogs. He loves to follow his humans around the house and yard. He likes to play with stuffed toys and chew on chewy bones. He becomes bonded to his people and is a loyal companion. He is affectionate and likes to cuddle with his person on the couch in the evenings. He has a tendency to grumble at other dogs when he is on the couch with his favorite person but is responsive to corrections and these corrections should be continued in a new home if needed. Black Jack is crate trained, housebroken in his foster home and learning to enjoy walks and outings. He currently lives with dogs of various sizes and gets along well with them. He seems to prefer playing with dogs who are small to medium size. He also lives with dog savvy cats and is respectful with them but he might challenge shy kitties and chase if they run. Young children would likely overwhelm him so only dog savvy, respectful children over 12 are recommended. He likely would not do well being left home alone daily for long hours. Black Jack would probably do best in a home with a young small - medium sized dog companion to pal around with, help show him the ropes and keep him company while his humans are away from home. He would likely be happy as an only dog if his humans are home the majority of the time. He wants to be a large part of his family’s life and enjoys being included in daily activities. Black Jack is an affectionate, enjoyable little guy who is waiting for his forever home. Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Story
Leah, this little cute, sweet older little gal is looking for a new home. She would be a great companion for an older adult(s). Leah loves to go for walks, just be with her person in the yard and most of all cuddle on the couch. Leah is use to the company of other small dogs, large dogs put her on the defense. Leah is a dominant little gal so she doesn't do well with other females, however she is a bit of a flirt & loves the boys. Sadly, she has not adjusted well to her original home after a child entered the family unit. She needs a home with NO toddlers or small children! Children 12yrs and up are an unknown. Leah does show some food guarding when other dogs come near her bowl. She is pretty calm and well behaved. Leah would would do best in a home with 1 or 2 adults. Leah is house trained, leash trained, crate trained + has learned quickly how to use a doggie door. Leah generally is eager to please her "person" and is smart and learns new routines pretty quickly . She's good on car rides and fine at home alone too. Leah is past the playful puppy stage, although sometimes has initial curiosity when a new toy is introduced. She more in the cuddly/lounging/sunbathing stage of life these days.

Story
Fozzie was adopted from a local shelter back in February, when he was just 6 months old. In July, Fozzie's Mom knew something was wrong and took Fozzie to her vet. He was diagnosed with epilepsy and was put on medication. The medication has made a world of difference for Fozzie and he's living large and feeling good. But his Mom is having a hard time. To prevent Fozzie from having further seizures, he must get his two medications three times a day. Keeping Fozzie on this schedule has been challenging for his Mom, and she has decided that it's best due to his medical condition that he be rehomed to a person/family who can more easily and more reliably keep him on schedule. Here's what we know about Fozzie: 14 months old 20lbs UTD on vaccinations - good thru February 2024 Neutered Microchipped DNA test revealed the following top five breeds: 39% Chihuahua, 14% dachshund, 11% Min Pin, 8% Poodle, 5% Mini Schnauzer Good with kids, other dogs and dog savvy cats Active boy who enjoys playing fetch and going for walks, tho he is still learning leash manners Knows some basic obedience commands, such as "sit" and "down" Enjoys playing with toys Fozzie is a great companion and loves to cuddle Interested in meeting Fozzie?
