Story
Oh boy. Blitzen is appropriately named because he is a fireball of energy, love, enthusiasm and kisses. He can climb fences and will do just about anything to stay with his people at all times. You would never know he is 8 years young since he has the energy of a puppy. He’s barely 6 pounds so he can travel everywhere easily and will insist on doing so. Please apply if you’re lucky enough to be able to be with your dogs all the time. Blitzen will not do well at home alone all day and a dog as special as this one, deserves the entire world. He would do best with other female dogs or no dogs at all. His ideal human will center their entire existence around his every whim.

Story
It doesn’t get cuter than Carrot. This seven pound, 3-year old sweetheart has an abundance of affection and personality. He will keep you entertained and loved. He loves everyone he meets and the feeling is usually mutual, unless you’re a small unaltered male dog. Carrot seems to give off alpha vibes but he doesn’t mean to do so. Other male dogs are threatened by his charm and good looks so they come at him with their energy and he sticks up for himself but he doesn’t fight. He shows his teeth and they back off. Carrot would love a home with older neutered males or females. He’s too regal for juvenile nonsense. Why posture when you can cuddle? Carrot would prefer to go on exotic adventures to the feed store or the park or even just a good old fashioned Netflix and chill with his amazing new home. We just have to find this amazing new home for Carrot. He wanted us to mention that he is not vegan, despite the name. Given the choice, he would have named himself Bacon.

Story
This little girl's human mom died, and she was left alone with her dog siblings. Luckily she found her way to us and is thriving with the other troopers. Skye is a playful 8-year-old lapdog. She’s a tall lean 12-pound beauty who loves to be with her people and sleep in their room. Her favorite thing to do here at LTR is to curl up on the laps of the volunteers. Skye is housebroken, loves walks and gets along well with other dogs. Everyone loves Skye and you will too.

Story
This little gal is very much looking forward to her new life. Puzzles is blossoming in her foster home; she even barked once! Our understanding of her previous life is that she was never properly loved. She was bounced around a lot and ended up in a home where she was forced to live with toddlers, and eventually was sent to live in a garage all by herself in a pen. When we heard this, we knew we had to take Puzzles in immediately. The people were just as happy to see her leave for a better life. We’re grateful they brought her to us. Puzzles is the sweetest little dog. She would make a great travel companion since she’s just 6 pounds and three years old. She will thrive in an adult-only home, or a home with older kids but she’s a typical chihuahua. She’s protective of her people and she loves to sleep under the covers in her human’s bed. As she should! Puzzles also gets along well with other dogs. If you can give her the life she dreams of, apply soon for this perfect little munchkin.

Story
Our amazing Bartholomew came to us while he was at death’s door. He was painfully thin with severe dental disease. We could not touch his head, not even his ears, he was in so much pain. We’re not sure how old he is but we’d guess between 10-12 years (and about the same number of pounds). We neutered him and fixed his mouth. The infection was terrible but he recovered quickly and started to eat almost immediately! Now he’s a legit ranch dog! He comes out to feed the goats, horses and pig every morning and night, he plays, and then runs back to the house. Truth be told, he’s a bit arthritic and stiff so “play” and “run” are relative in this regard but he does the cutest gallop and sometimes his back end goes faster than his front end but he always manages to stay upright and he always knows where his foster mama is. Bartholomew loves to sleep in bed with his human and the other dogs, but he’s also content to sleep in a cozy bed on the floor. He can’t get up and down from the bed on his own so he will need his own “staff” for lifting, etc. Bartholomew’s transformation in our care has been nothing shy of spectacular. He is pure love inside and out. His coat went from sad and dull to shiny and vibrant. His personality has always been charming. If you’re looking for an older gentleman to brighten your days Bartholomew is your man.

Story
Check out this most gorgeous little 7 pound girl. Tessa is super soft and will cuddle and receive kisses when held, but she’s still afraid to be picked up. She came to us with her BFF Kevin who was even more terrified upon arrival. He has since warmed up but Tessa will need some time and patience to heal from her terrifying life. Tessa and Kevin were found in a pen on the side of a river with a bunch of other sick and terrified dogs. She’s only a few years old but she’s been through a lot. Luckily she’s learning to love life. She plays well with other dogs and she loves puppies. It will take her some time to trust humans but she’s on her way and she’s well worth the wait.

Story
I need to find a new home for my 9 year old Pomeranian chihuahua named Benji. Due to some recent health issues and changes in my living situation, I will need to move back into an apartment soon. Unfortunately, apartment living is too stressful for Benji as he is reactive and anxious(we've tried before). My priority is making sure he has the space and stability to feel safe. I got him from a rescue that has since closed back in 2019. He thrives in a calm, predictable home. He can be very reactive and is not immediately friendly with people and does not do well with other animals, but once he trusts someone, he is okay. He would do best in a home with an experienced dog owner, as the only pet, and with access to a yard. This is not an easy decision to make and I am committed to finding him the right home. I would love to connect if anyone themselves or knows someone who is experienced with reactive animals and can offer him patience and understanding.
