Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sweet, tiny tripawed girl!Meet Holly! Tiny, one-year-old Holly came to SVPP after a local shelter reached out for help. She had arrived as a stray, but it quickly became clear she was suffering from a severely broken front leg that required major surgery. Once in our care, we worked closely with our veterinary team to determine the best surgical option to give Holly the highest possible quality of life. Throughout it all, her devoted foster momma surrounded her with love and comfort. Despite the pain she was experiencing, Holly remained incredibly stoic and never lost her gentle, sweet nature. She truly is a special little girl. Now that her amputation surgery is complete and her stitches have been removed, Holly is feeling great and ready to move forward with her life. She’s resilient, loving, and excited to thrive as a cherished member of a forever family. Could you be the family Holly has been waiting for? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Affectionate cutie! Meet Sweet Simon! Simon is a gentle, affectionate boy who came to SVPP from a local shelter feeling frightened and shut down. Now that he’s settling into home life, his true personality is beginning to shine. He’s learning to relax, play with toys, and enjoy cozy snuggles with his fosters. Simon absolutely loves getting pets and has started seeking out attention on his own. He’s incredibly sweet and happiest when he’s close to his people. While he’s not overly demanding, he definitely has a “lap dog” personality—whether he’s curled up in your lap or resting right beside you, he just wants to be near. When he’s not shadowing his humans, Simon enjoys leisurely walks where he can explore the neighborhood at his own pace. Don’t let his relaxed style fool you—he can comfortably go 1 to 1.5 miles! It took a few days for his playful side to emerge, but now he loves toys and balls. He especially enjoys being chased and is starting to get the hang of fetch. Simon is also making great progress with potty training. With a consistent schedule, he’s picked things up quickly and continues to improve every day. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sweet, gentle boy!Meet Clifford, aka Cliffy! Clifford is a social, happy dog who loves meeting new people and greets everyone with a wagging tail. He gets along well with other dogs—after a quick sniff, he’s ready to play! He is gentle, quiet, and easy to have in the home. Clifford likes to keep an eye on his person, especially if he suspects treats might be involved! He also settles easily and spends plenty of time relaxing on the couch. His favorite thing is curling up next to you while you watch TV and pet him. He is affectionate and loves giving kisses. He rides calmly in the car and enjoys trips to the park. Clifford loves exploring outdoors—he moves quickly, is agile, and is curious about everything around him. He has not shown much interest in toys yet and prefers interacting directly with people. Clifford knows how to sit for treats and sleeps quietly on a blanket rather than in his dog bed. He can be a bit nervous around large objects and loud noises, but overall, he is a sociable, quiet, and sweet little dog who settles nicely into a routine. Are you ready to welcome a gentle, friendly, easygoing dog into your home? Clifford is waiting to meet you!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 8, 2026, 1:18 pm

Story
Pi (3.14) is a ~3yo, 13lb neutered male beautiful blue merle chihuahua mix! He lives well with other dogs once he knows them and tested fine with indoor only cats too. He’s sweet with all people he’s met and he’s loyal and loves to cuddle! He is super food motivated and eager to learn. He’s also crate trained and doing much better with housebreaking since his neuter. He was born with a partially missing front limb, hence his name, he only has “3.14” legs. ;) but he was almost named Boing! because he sure does have impressive vertical jumping ability when he’s happy to see you! He will make a wonderful companion.  Please contact Diana at (510) 333-4420 or theperfectdogrescue@gmail.com or fill out the adoption application:  http://www.theperfectdog.org/TPDadoptapp.doc March 24, 2026, 12:38 pm

Story
Cisco  is a playful, affectionate, happy little guy who enjoys chasing balls (his favorite) or small plushy toys, sofa cuddle time, long walks, playing at the dog park, treats, and mealtimes. He needs a little time to build trust with his humans before his wonderfully sweet and cuddly personality comes out. The short wait is so worth it! Energy Level?  Medium  House trained?  Yes Describe how they are on a leash?   Cisco  pulls a bit on the leash, but otherwise does very well.  Describe how they are with other dogs?  He generally ignores other dogs at first, but when he encounters one he feels comfortable with, he initiates play. If  Cisco  feels the other dog has crossed a boundary by playing too roughly, he will try to correct them. He's small but mighty! Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they?  He's good with respectful dogs. He has met one dod savvy cat, and he initially barked at him.  Commands they know? Sit What are their favorite things?  Playing fetch with balls (his favorite) or small plushy toys, sofa cuddle time, long walks, playing at the dog park, treats, and mealtimes. What do they need to work on?  Building confidence with new people, and would benefit from more obedience training. He is a very smart little guy and would learn quickly. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone?  He's fine being left alone. He will sleep.  Where do they sleep?  He is fine sleeping in a crate or just on a bed on the floor. What is their ideal home?  He would do well in a quiet, adult-only household, either as an only dog or with other respectful dogs. Cisco is 6 years old and 7 pounds. Our Adoption fee is $325.     For adoption consideration or to meet our dogs , please complete our online application at www.everypetsdream.org/adopt. Story
Baxter  is a sweet senior boy who joined our rescue after his family of 11 years moved out of the country. At just 4.5 pounds, he is a tiny little guy with a big personality. He is adjusting to his new life and would love nothing more than to spend his golden years with a family to call his own. Baxter is a bit hot and spicy and is not shy about letting you know if you are misbehaving. Since he has no teeth, his “corrections” are all gums, loud sounds, and a little slobber. It is more comedy than anything else. Energy Level?  Low.  House trained?  Yes. However, we have used belly bands to discourage marking, and it is working! Describe how they are on a leash?  He walks nicely on a leash, but also doesn't mind a good push in a stroller Describe how they are with other dogs?  Baxter is great with all dogs, big and small, and even tolerated a large breed puppy. He is currently fostered  with several dogs Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they?  Baxter is good with cats.   Commands they know?  It's time for dinner :-)  What are their favorite things?  He loves to explore the backyard and enjoy the sun.  What do they need to work on?   He is slow to warm up to new people, very spicy, and will try to gum you and slobber all over you since he doesn't have any teeth to bite you with.   How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone?  He’s fine left alone. We leave him in a pen when he is alone.  He does not potty in his pen.   Where do they sleep?  He sleeps in his bed in a pen. What is their ideal home?   Baxter would do best with someone who appreciates his spicy little personality. With new people or if he feels someone is fussing with him too much, he may growl or give a gummy snap warning. Remember, he has no teeth, so it is mostly sounds and slobber. He would be happy in a home with or without other dogs. Baxter is a simple guy who enjoys the easy life. Give him a fluffy bed, good food, and a calm home, and he will be perfectly content. The Adoption fee is $325.   For adoption consideration or to meet our dogs , please complete our online adoption application at  www.everypetsdream.org/adopt .
