Story
Fozzie was adopted from a local shelter back in February, when he was just 6 months old. In July, Fozzie's Mom knew something was wrong and took Fozzie to her vet. He was diagnosed with epilepsy and was put on medication. The medication has made a world of difference for Fozzie and he's living large and feeling good. But his Mom is having a hard time. To prevent Fozzie from having further seizures, he must get his two medications three times a day. Keeping Fozzie on this schedule has been challenging for his Mom, and she has decided that it's best due to his medical condition that he be rehomed to a person/family who can more easily and more reliably keep him on schedule. Here's what we know about Fozzie: 14 months old 20lbs UTD on vaccinations - good thru February 2024 Neutered Microchipped DNA test revealed the following top five breeds: 39% Chihuahua, 14% dachshund, 11% Min Pin, 8% Poodle, 5% Mini Schnauzer Good with kids, other dogs and dog savvy cats Active boy who enjoys playing fetch and going for walks, tho he is still learning leash manners Knows some basic obedience commands, such as "sit" and "down" Enjoys playing with toys Fozzie is a great companion and loves to cuddle Interested in meeting Fozzie? Story
I am a new arrival to Kimie's Kritters Pet Rescue with my "brother", Sid. I was estimated to be about four years old and as is typical of my breed, I am a rambunctious fellow. I am being housed with other small dogs and do just fine. I have not been tested with larger dogs so, would have to have a meet and greet to determine how I would do with bigger dogs. I appear to have normal curiosity towards cats, so would also need to be cat-tested. I use a doggie door to go outside to take care of business.

Story
I am new to Kimie's Kritters and Kimie says that I am a mellow fellow and am as sweet as can be. My story is that my dad worked LOOOONG hours and his kids failed to feed me. My dad was attempting to surrender me to a shelter, but he didn't have an appointment. My rescuer just so happened to be pulling into the parking lot of the shelter as my dad was contemplating leaving me in the parking lot, so she offered to take me. He was grateful to be able to surrender me to her. Since I've been rescued, I have eaten more than I need to and have recently filled out. When around other dogs, I tend to simply avoid them as I am a submissive guy. So far, I appear to be housetrained (I use a doggie door to go outside). I have been around cats and will bark at them through the windows like I'm a tough guy. When I am in the same room as them, it is a different story and I simply ignore them. Because I was deprived of food, I still tend to guard my food, so will have to be fed separately from other dogs. I do not mind if my foster mom takes food away from me, so it is just with other dogs.

Story
Fender was surrendered to KKPR because his parents had to go to assisted living. They had him since he was a puppy. He misses his parents and only home he has ever known of 14 years. I have never watched a dog cry out of grief to the point where he has tears running down his cheeks until now! It was ABSOLUTELY HEARTBREAKING and we were all in tears last night! He is fully vetted and ready for his forever home. 11/13/24: Although he is new to KKPR, he was close to his father and immediately took to my husband. He loves car rides and walks. Even though he is 14 years old, he is spry and spunky. He was accustomed to going everywhere with his parents and misses them dearly. Fender thinks he is the alpha dog and doesn't get along with one of my male dogs. He gets along with the rest of them. He weighs about 12 lbs. His ideal family would be someone who is home most of the time. He is struggling with separation anxieties, which is understandable under the circumstances. Although we feed him in a crate, as soon as he is done eating, he wants out Fender is learning how to use the doggie door to take care of his business. Although he didn't previously sleep with his parents, he does enjoy sleeping in bed with us. Because he is a more mature gentleman, he should go to a home with no children or older children. He has not yet been cat-tested yet. Although he is listed as a Boston Terrier, he was the runt and is the size of a Chihuahua. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Fender, please send me an email to kims35@aol.com and I will send you an application.I can also be reached at 916.397.4686 if you have any questions.

Story
April is a darling little chihuahua mix puppy. She was born around 3/1/2024 and currently weighs 11 lbs. April is affectionate, sweet, smart and playful. She enjoys romping around the house and yard with her dog buddies. She likes to play with her toys, chew on her bully sticks and other chewy treats. She likes to splash around in the water on warm days and is a pretty good little swimmer. She has plenty of puppy energy and will make you laugh with her silly antics. She loves her people and enjoys couch time with them in the evenings. April currently lives with other dogs of various sizes and she gets along well with them. She also lives with dog savvy cats and is respectful with them. Young children would likely overwhelm her so only dog savvy, respectful children over 10 are recommended. She is an alert barker and loves her yard so no apartments for her. She likely would not do well left home alone daily for long hours. April is crate trained, doing well with potty training and is learning to walk on a leash. April would do well in a home with a yard and a young, playful companion dog to romp around with. Someone who has the time, patience and understands the exercise and training needs of a young puppy would be ideal. April is a little sweetheart who is waiting for her forever home. Story
Lainey is a sweet, 9 pound Chihuahua mix estimated to be born around 2/2024. She is an agile climber and loves to run. She wants you to know she is the fastest zoomier in town, hands down. She came from a hoarding situation and she and her sisters were very unsocialized, but not aggressive, when they came into rescue. Lainey warmed up quickly to her foster mom and seeks out attention, a lap cuddle and pets. She is still shy when first meeting strangers, but treats go a long way. She is a typical barky chihuahua. She barks when she’s protecting her loved ones from “bad guys”, nervous or excited, so her family has to be okay with that. She enjoys playing with the small breed puppies in her foster home, but can be guardy with food and toys. Shes doing great with potty training with regular reminders. She barks at cats, so it’s better for her to be in a cat-free home. She would do best in a home with another friendly, playful dog. Lainey would prefer a family that is home the majority of the day. She needs a secure, zoomie worthy yard. She would do best with children over 10, who are respectful and understand how to be gentle and patient with a shy dog. Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group.
