Story
Sofia is a gem of a girl – she is approximately 3 and a half years old, 17 lb mix of sugar and spice and everything nice. She is lower energy, and a bit reserved. She doesn’t run up to strangers, she’ll stand back to assess, and then is very friendly. Sofia is good with dogs and cats. She’s a quiet influence at the shelter and not a barker. Sofia was dumped near the SPCA PV sanctuary with her bestie Lucia, and wouldn’t they make an amazing duo? We’d love to adopt them together, but we can’t hold them back from finding a home that loves them if that’s not possible. While at the shelter we can’t confirm if she’s house trained, but it seems she once had a home, so we think its likely that she is. Sofia is healthy, spayed and vaccinated. Sofia is currently at the SPCA PV sanctuary in Mexico, and will be able to fly to Vancouver, Calgary or Edmonton (possibly also Vancouver island). If you think you might be the lucky home for her, write us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com and tell us a little about yourself, or go direct to our application: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw

Story
Hello! My name is MOCHA and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Deer head chihuahua Age: 3 years Gender: Female Weight: 9.9 lbs (4.5 kg)  Height: 34 cm (paws to top of my head) Length: 46 cm (head to butt) Current Location: MEXICO CITY RESCUE STORY - My rescue story is one of resilience and hope. Three months ago, I was found abandoned in a cardboard box outside the shelter on a rainy night, heavily pregnant and in poor condition with my daughter, Cappuccina. We were both very skinny and struggling with visible signs of scabies, likely victims of an illegal breeding facility. But I’m so grateful to the caring rescuers who brought us in. With their support, I’ve started to heal and thrive, and now I’m ready to embrace a brighter future in a loving home! Here I am with my daughter at the shelter! And here we are getting treats! We would love to stay together, but this is not necessary for adoption. TEMPERAMENT - I’m a playful pup with a heart full of curiosity! Life at the shelter can be a bit overwhelming—I don’t get to go out much, but when I do, I get super excited by all the sounds, smells, and other dogs. I’m still learning how to walk on a leash, but I promise I’m trying my best! I can be a little shy at first, especially around new people and cars zooming by, but give me just half an hour, and I’ll start to warm up and seek your affection. I love being petted! I share my space with a mix of small and medium dogs, and a big, calm buddy, and we have fun playing together. I’m not picky about food, and I’ve met cats and birds without any fuss. While I haven’t met kids yet, I’m ready to find my forever home where I can grow more confident and show you just how much love I have to give! ENERGY LEVEL - Medium - I love to play and explore, but I’m also all about those cozy snuggles and gentle cuddles! GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown.  Dogs –  Yes. I share my space with a mix of small and medium dogs, and a big, calm buddy dog, and we have fun playing together. Here I am with other dogs. Cats – Unknown.  PREY DRIVE - Unknown. Here is a video of me acting indifferent to birds while out on a walk! I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. in Canada, so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – Work in progress. I haven’t had much opportunity to work on my leash skills so I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success! Here I am on a walk! House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. My scabies have healed quickly, I have put on weight, and I am healthy and active since being at the shelter. I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $840.00 (including taxes), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and its adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. Story
Meet Lila!! Lila was rescued from abusive owner by our Dorothy Rescue. She is a sweet a smart Jindo mix girl who wants to be loved :) Behaviours from foster home : Lila is such a sweetheart who is smart and loves her hoomans! She is a bit timid and shy at first time. She would be appreciate it, if you could give her some time get used to her new family and new environment :) She is good with other doggie friends. She also catches other dog's signal quickly, so she won't bother the other dog if they don't want to hang out. She is that smart ;) She is good with adults and kids, as well. Though, she'd like your slow and gentle approach to her. Please give her some time to get used to you and wait for her to feel comfortable and let her come to you :) She has good walking manner, as well. She absolutely loves walking! and She does her business only outside. She isn't a big barker and she has no separation anxiety. She is also crate trained, and she's never showed aggressive behavior. Also, she doesn't get carsick, so- you can enjoy car drive with her :D Lila may be a bit shy and timid at first time, but she is such a sweetheart and she is very gentle and loving~ Would you be her loving pawrents? :) Allergy/health issues : She hasn't showed any allergy issue. She does not have any health issue. But, sadly.. She lost her right hind leg because of her abusive previous owner... There were a number of dangerous moments during her treatment, but she stayed strong and she fought for her life. Now, she is a healthy and happy dog who loves running around and being loved. We are very proud of her!!! She is not only beautiful but also very strong! :) *Please send all inquiries to @everlove8282. *Please submit your applications through the application form on our Instagram profile! Story
Meet Toto! He is a little shy and a sweet boy who wants to be loved :) Behaviours from the foster mom : Toto loves doggie friends, but he is a bit shy. He wags his tail cheerfully and waits for other dogs to come to him first. Toto hasn't met any cat friends yet, so we don't know how he would react to them. Toto loves kids and is very comfortable around them. He seems to be more comfortable with female adults than with males. He gets scared by sudden, big movements or loud noises, so please give him some time to adjust to a new environment, especially at the beginning. :) He is good at bathing and brushing, but he is afraid of the dryer, so his foster mom is trying to help him feel more comfortable with it. He has great manners on his walks, though he sometimes gets scared by loud noises or shadows, so please make sure he is on a leash and be cautious during walks. He only does his business outside. He is not a big barker, but he sometimes barks when he hears noises from outside. He hasn't shown any signs of separation anxiety, and he doesn’t feel carsick during drives. He wasn't specifically kennel trained, but he goes into his kennel when he is told to. He is a smart boy. ;) He hasn't shown any aggressive behavior, but he sometimes nibbles when he gets scared or startled, so please don’t scare him suddenly. Toto is a sweet boy who will shine with some time in a new family. Would you be this sweet boy's loving family? :D Allergy/health issues: Toto's foster mom said that he might have an allergy to salmon. Toto had a heartworm issue when he was rescued, but he is all cured now, and he's been given heartworm and flea/tick prevention medication every month since then. He does not have any health issues at present. *Please send all inquiries to @everlove8282. *Please submit your applications through the application form on our Instagram profile! Our team will carefully consider each of your applications to find the perfect forever homes for our dogs. *As all of our dogs are currently in South Korea, there will be an adoption fee of 700USD + customs fee (if applicable) for each dog.
