Story
Hello, I'm Gracie. I may be a bit timid when we first meet, but give me a moment and my sweetness will shine through. I'm the type of girl who loves a quiet corner, a soft voice, and a gentle touch. My heart is full of love to give, if only I could find someone willing to receive it. I'm friendly, too. I get along well with other dogs, and even though I'm shy, I still enjoy a good play session. My life has been a journey, and it has led me here, to you. I'm not asking for much, just a chance to show you how much love I have to give. I'm not the loudest dog in the shelter, or the most outgoing, but I promise, if you give me a chance, I'll be the most loving. Adopt me and let me show you the true meaning of unconditional love.May 6, 2025, 11:32 am

Story
Penny When I first came to the animal control place, I was covered with spots! And to make matters worse, my mom and sisters were covered with spots too! I guess we all had the same thing, but I didn’t think that we were that scary that people wouldn’t want to touch us or anything! Then we came into the God’s Dogs and started getting treatment for ringworms, which isn’t’ really worms but a fungal infection on our skin due to our previously poor living conditions. We are still taking a pill and getting baths for our skin, but we shouldn’t be contagious anymore. So, we have been here for 3 weeks now, and our spots are getting smaller, and our hair is coming in nicely. We still don’t have a super full coat, but it is getting there, but what we lack in hair cover, we make up for in personality! My spots are slowing going away and they don’t itch or anything. So, there is no need to be afraid of my spots. I am a happy girl and love to play! I am the middle size of the sisters and am the one with the straight tail. Not sure how that happened. But it doesn’t bother me much anyhow as I don’t look at it that much. I love to play with toys and run. I love to run and bounce around. It is a fun game to play with my siblings, especially keeping away with toys. I am a chihuahua dachshund mix foster mom thinks and since we don’t know anything about our dad, our breed is only a guess. But I have these huge radar ears, that I can hear every time you open the refrigerator door. I am already fixed and my weight on 5.5.25 was only 5 pounds, so I will be on the small side. But good things come in little packages, right? I am over 3 months old now and would like to find myself a permanent home soon! Will it be with you? $250 In State Adoption Fee (in Texas) $500 Out of State Fee (includes Transportation to your area) $50 Temporary fuel surcharge.

Spots! Spots and more Spots!! When I first came to the animal control place, I was covered with spots! And to make matters worse, my mom and sisters were covered with spots too! We still don’t have a super full coat, but it is getting there, but what we lack in hair cover, we make up for in personality! I am a happy girl and love to play! I am the smallest of the sisters and am the quickest, I think! Anyhow, I love to play with toys and try to sneak them away from the siblings. My spots are slowing going away and they don’t itch or anything. So, there is no need to be afraid of my spots. I am a chihuahua dachshund mix I believe, and I have mom’s curly puggy tail too so there has to be some pug in our background somewhere. We don’t know dad, so our breed is only a guess. I am already fixed and my weight on 5.5.25 was only 4#10, so I will be on the small side. But good things come in little packages, right? Story
Meet Gollum – but don’t worry, he’s more “precious” than creepy! Yes, his name is Gollum. No, he doesn’t live in a cave or hiss at strangers. But let’s be honest—he does have those big expressive eyes that might remind you of a certain ring-obsessed character. Luckily, that’s where the resemblance ends. Gollum is actually super cute—like “11 pounds of adorable Chihuahua with a nub tail and an irresistible little grin” cute. This 1-year-old sweetheart is full of love, personality, and maybe just a hint of drama (he is a Chihuahua, after all). He LOVES toys, LOVES attention, and is just waiting for someone to swoop in, give him the TLC he deserves, and maybe… please… change his name so he doesn’t grow up with a complex. So if you’re ready to rescue this cutie from a lifetime of Gollum jokes, and you’ve got space in your heart for a little guy who’ll be your loyal sidekick forever—come meet him! He’s not looking for a ring. Just a family. Apply to adopt Gollum at HeberSpringsHumaneSociety.com Gollum’s adoption fee is $125.00 and includes first shots, worming, microchip, and sterilization required at 6 months. We have a dog park to check compatibility with possible sibling dogs. Please fill out an adoption application at HeberSpringsHumaneSociety.com and a volunteer will contact you in 2-3 business days. The adoption application is NOT on Adopt a Pet. You must apply on the Heber Springs Humane Society website.
