Meet Bucky. Bucky came to us after his owner passed away (he had Bucky since Bucky was a puppy). Bucky is shy at first and needs a little time to warm up to you, but when he does he is the most affectionate boy there is. Bucky may be 7, but he still loves his toys! He does excellent around adults but gets uncomfortable around young children.

Story
Our dog Pika is about 7 years old. He was adopted from the AZ Humane Society, so they made an educated guess on his age when we adopted him 3 years ago. Unfortunately, we do have to rehome our dog as we just recently moved out of state and due to unfortunate circumstances, we cannot take him with us. He is good with other dogs, but tends to get a little nervous around little children. We prefer him to go to an home with older children or just adults. He loves to burrow under the blankets and loves to sunbathe. We would love for him to go to a loving home. We are looking to rehome immediately. We have another dog and would like to to go together - Rudy, a min pin/chihuahua mix.

Story
Rudy was a rescue from the Arizona Humane Society. He is a lover and likes to snuggle. We moved recently and due to unfortunate circumstances, we are unable to take our dogs with us. He does have a brother Pika that we would like them to stay together if possible. We are looking to rehome immediately as we are only in town for a few days and our friends can no longer watch them.

Story
Let’s welcome Dug to BTBPR!    This approximately 9 year old Chiweenie was saved from the life of living outside his whole life.    Here are some words from his foster:   Dug will be looking for a home to call his own soon!!  Dug is an absolute sweetheart and would love a family that is home most of the time. He is blind in his left eye and visual impairment in his right eye from cataracts, but doesn’t let that slow him down in the least. He loves to go outside and explore the backyard and can jump up and down from the couch on his own.  He is a huge fan of pup cups and has done great on car rides sitting on a blanket and wearing a seatbelt attached to his collar. He’s a dream on the leash and listens well when I call him to follow me.    We are working on crate training so that he is safe when I have to leave the house. He struggles with being in the crate if nobody is around and will bark and cry, but if someone is near he’s usually fine.    We use belly bands if he wants to wander around the house as he does sometimes mark. This behavior has improved but we occasionally still have to tell him no and redirect him outside. He also has some incontinence at night; however, I do let him sleep on my bed on top of washable incontinence mattress protector and a blanket. He doesn’t move position often at night and has so far only had accidents on the potty pad. He would also probably be ok sleeping in a crate next to the bed as long as he knows you are there but we haven’t tried that out yet because he’s so sweet and loves to snuggle at night.    He spends the majority of the day sitting next to me (and my other small dog) on the couch and I think he would do fine in a house with other animals as he is so chill and doesn’t initiate contact with my dogs. He is not a big fan of my new dog but she is young and super high energy, and he tolerates her sleeping next to him on the couch when she is calm.  He will growl at her if she gets too close to him while he is eating or trying to sleep but he has never tried to bite or nip. Dug also loves playing with small squeaker toys and enjoys butt scratches, belly rubs and snuggles. He has loved everyone he’s met so far and cuddled up to my husband the first time they met.    Dug would prefer a family that is home the majority of the time and is a sweet older gentleman that would make a great addition for anyone looking for a couch potato love bug that doesn’t need constant attention and is content to sit or lie next to you all day and night!!   Please fill out an application on our website so we can arrange a meet and greet followed by a home check. His adoption fee is $150 and will be applied to his medical bills. Dug is neutered, current on vaccines and microchipped. We are waiting for the results of his senior blood panel that was done at San Tan Animal Hospital on 1-7-25. January 8, 2025, 12:53 am

Story
Hi! I’m Lilah. I’m 11 months old and weigh 6 pounds. I’m not too sure around new people but I’m a work in progress. I came into the rescue very fearful and suffer from separation anxiety. It takes me a while to warm up but once I do, I’m totally devoted to you. I love just sitting in your lap and told what a good girl I am. I have to say though that I’m not too sure about the smaller humans. I chase after them and nip the back of their legs so I’d do better in a home without small children. I’m told I’m a very good escape artist so I’ll need a home that is very secure. If I can’t get over it, I’ll go through it.
