Story
T-Bone came to us when his family could no longer care for him. He is estimated around 9 years old and is approximately 12 lbs. He is doing well with the potty routine in his foster home - going outside when his foster dad is home and using puppy pads when he is away at work. He enjoys his yard time and is a big fan of treats! He does have some mild food protectiveness but that is understandable given that there was not enough food at his former home. T-Bone does pretty well on a leash. He does great in a crate and ok in the car. He is timid but very affectionate once he warms up and knows you are safe. He is generally not a big barker. T-Bone is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and also had bloodwork done which looked good! Story
Meet the adorable Vana (also goes by Tinks). She came into the rescue a very neglected, shy and scared little dog. But boy has she made a complete 180 change!! Unfortunately, we don’t know much of her background other than she was found as a stray and in bad condition. She overcame a severe case of mange, double ear infections, and a UTI. When first arriving it was noted that she had very limited to no vision. Upon going to an eye vet specialist, it was determined that she may be able to gain vision back in one of her eyes with aggressive treatment and further diagnosis of possible valley fever. Well, he was right, she does have valley fever. But through great diet, eye drops, and medication for her valley fever, she has regained vision in her one good eye and sees great. Tinks is feeling so much better and has started to blossom into this wonderful young, spunky, playful girl that she’s always wanted to be. Tinks is estimated as 5 years old and is around 11 lbs. She loves attention, loves to play with and chew on any kind of dog toys/or bones. She gets along with other dogs after an introduction. She’s fine with cats and will try and play with them. She loves people of all sizes. She’s slowly learning to enjoy lap time and will come and ask for pets and belly rubs. She’s a little timid of the car, but over time would probably adjust just fine. She’s ok on a leash, but we haven’t spent much time with training, but I think with some patience she’ll figure it out. She’s housebroken and sleeps great through the night. This sweet girl is ready to find that wonderful home where she’ll be loved and cherished for the rest of her days. She will be on eye drops for life and will require at least an annual trip to Eye Care of Animals for a check up. She’s currently being treated for Valley Fever and is responding great to the medication. Story
Corey came to us from Yuma and is extremely shy and skittish so will need a patient adopter. She would be best as a home to home adoption so meet and greets will take place on the far east side of Tucson at her fosters house. She is like so many chis who 'love hard' once they trust you so it the work will definitely come with rewards once she chooses you. She is food motivated so that will assist in training and developing the bond! Corey could potentially be an apartment dog as she will go on a potty pads but security would be important. She does also potty outside when she has the opportunity. She is not leash trained AT ALL so will need someone willing to work with her on that. Corey is estimated at 6 years old and is 8 lbs. She does fine in a crate, but also has not demonstrated any destructive tendencies. She enjoys other dogs and would likely need at least 1 canine friend, and she does try to engage in play with other small dogs at her foster home. Corey has no known health issues and is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. If you think you have the love and patience to give this scared girl a forever home submit an application HERE ))) https://form.jotform.com/cherishedtails/dog-application

Story
Annika came to us about 6 months ago from Yuma. She was VERY shy and has made some progress in foster but is still going to require patience and work in her forever home. She is still unsure of the leash and anxious about new situations. She is very devoted to her foster mom, has learned the joys of living indoors and is pretty well housebroken. She does well in a crate but is generally not destructive. She gets along with dogs of all sizes and ages and also has no issues with cats, and would likely be best in a home with other animals. Annika is around 2.5 years old and about 15 lbs. She is spayed, current on vaccines and microchipped and has no health concerns. She has not shown too much interest in toys (yet) and seems to thrive on routines. Meet and greets will need to be at her foster home (midtown Tucson). If you are interested in meeting Annika submit the application HERE ))) https://form.jotform.com/cherishedtails/dog-application

Story
una came to us from AHS when she was at risk due to her dental condition and patellas. Since coming to the rescue she has lost weight and her knees are much better and not causing any problems. When the vet evaluated her she did not feel that she would need any intervention as long as she continues to lose and maintain her weight. She was able to get dental surgery with many extractions and also had the fistulas repaired. Luna is estimated as 7 years old and is now around 12 lbs (ideal weight would be 11) Luna is timid but sweet and does great with other 4 legged friends. Once she gains trust she also likes to cuddle with humans. She has done well adjusting to the potty routine at her foster home and is mostly housebroken though does sometimes 'fear piddle'. She does fine in the crate though also has nice house manners. She walks pretty well on a leash and is cooperative about medication and handling.
