Trixie was in the right place at the right time! While we were at the county shelter saving another dog, Trixie was placed in our arms as a critical case in need of our help, and we fell head over heels in love with her right then and there. She came to us as an underweight, senior chihuahua who was in desperate need of some TLC while recovering from an upper respiratory infection. Trixie has been getting all the love, care, and attention she has been needing and wanting in her foster home, where her personality has a chance to shine now that she has become comfortable with her environment! She is a senior lady who still loves to play with people and similarly-sized dogs, but she also enjoys sunbathing, lazing around on the couch or in her dog bed. She absolutely loves following a routine, which has made her a pro at crate- and house-training, especially as she will always let you know if she needs to go out! All she asks for in her ideal home is a little patience as she settles in and decompresses, but once she has, she promises to give you all of the love and loyalty you could ever ask for in a furry companion! She is on one medication along with two kidney-related supplements for her long-term health. And because nutrition is everything, she is on a high-quality food that we are hoping her new home will continue to provide for her. Sweet Wilma came to our rescue after being saved from a hoarding situation with 40 other dogs living in inhumane conditions, stacked in crates in a small shed for years and years. A few rescue groups jumped in to help, and we took the most senior/critical medical cases of the bunch, Wilma being one of them. We ran full diagnostics and quickly discovered that she had been living with untreated diabetes, causing limited vision as well. After months on the appropriate medication and proper nutrition, Wilma has been healing from the inside out and is now feeling like a whole new woman! Wilma’s foster mom has been amazingly dedicated to her care, and Wilma has finally been able to experience the life she has deserved all along. She’s in a foster home with other small dogs and definitely prefers the not so rowdy ones — though she loves to participate in playing or singing from the sidelines :). Wilma loves going for walks, which is also crucial to her health. She would love a home that is sure to take her out and about on the town and shopping on the weekends. And because Wilma is Wilma, she prefers to rest in a stroller during outings or be carried in her dog pouch. Beyond experiencing the beauty of the world around her, Wilma’s favorite pastime is enjoying the warmth of your lap and daily snuggles. She’s really good at snuggles 💞 Being diabetic, Wilma will require daily insulin monitoring. She has a device that she wears that can easily connect to an app on your phone. She will need to be given insulin twice a day, and she follows a strict, healthy diet. We couldn’t help but agree and officially welcomed the duo into our care! Sam’s fosters describe him as a loving, loyal and handsome pup who loves treats and walks. Hi! Hello! We are Mike and Mollie and we are a bonded pair looking to fill your home with love, snuggles, and smiles. We came to Forever Loved from a local rescue so that we could have greater exposure in an area that would increase our chance of adoption. We are currently in a foster home which is so kind, but we are looking forward to finding our forever home with a lot more attention just for us! Mike here - I am a 16lb 9 year old Chi mix, and don’t you think I resemble an adorable fox? I am a laid back, easy going boy and I love to seek out your affection and attention, and I love all kinds of people and other dogs. The doctor said I could lose a few pounds, but otherwise I am very healthy. I may only have 2 teeth left, but I am so cute with my tongue salute! I really am no trouble at all to feed. Maybe just some softened kibble will be perfect. Molly here - I am a darling 10 year old Chi/Terrier mix that weighs 11 lbs. I love my special buddy Mike, but I don't like to share him with other dogs, so it would be best if we are your only furry friends. We are a sweet pair and we will give you all the love you could ever want. The vet said I could lose a few pounds too, but I wasn’t offended. I have a slight heart murmur for which I am taking heart meds to help. I, too, got a clean bill of health and both of us are eager to have a place in your heart to call our own.
