Story
Miss Betty was surrendered to the shelter. This old lady takes some warming up and doesn’t like new people but she can be bribed with yummy treats. She is your typical chihuahua that was never socialized. Miss Betty prefers just to sleep under a blanket on the couch and relax. She would love someone to sit with her but she will wait for you if you need to go somewhere. Miss Betty lost most of her hair due to,what appears to be a severe flea infestation that no one ever treated. This old lady will steal your heart and your treats. Betty does have a heart murmur and she has about 6 teeth left but she’s doing great. Apply to adopt: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/42015/generic

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is a list of the current animals available for adoption from Krewe de Rescue.  If you would like to meet an animal we have available for adoption, please fill out the adoption application.  All fields must be filled out for application to submit properly.  If a field does not apply to you, please enter N/A in the field. Adoption Application adoption application >>>  Ducky was on the dreaded list at a local shelter because space was needed for incoming dogs. One of our fosters stepped up and we were able to save him. Sweet, sweet Ducky is learning what love is and how to be an inside pup. We think he probably lived his entire life outside. He is four years old and weighs 12 pounds. He does not like cats. He is great with other dogs, loves to play, is awkward in the car and on a leash. He is doing great with crate training and is working hard on house training. He does wear a belly band inside while he learns not to potty in the house. Our adoption fee is $175 and includes age appropriate vaccines, vet check, neuter and a microchip. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application listed below. https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=DMBCNVSTVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 7, 2024, 7:24 am

NEWBIE ALERT!! Meet Bentley! This sweet boy is a dachshund mix who is being surrendered by his family because they can no longer provide for him. He’s 1.5 years old and around 15 ish lbs. He is a sweet boy but is a little timid meeting new people but opens up quick. He’s great with other dogs and does well in the house. He will complete his vetting 5/1/24 and will then be adoption ready.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications!
