Story
I like napping with other doggies, sniffing adventures in the yard, and getting "good girl" treats and cheese. I'd be the ideal little gal pal for a quiet home with those retired or who works from home. As a sensitive, but very sweet girl, I ask for time to warm up, but with a gentle touch, and some one on one time, my personality will shine. Then it's a wrap! I'll have your heart and you'll have mine. Est. birthdate is 8/3/2015, 11.8 lbs., my $200.00 adoption fee includes vaccines up to date, spay and microchip. If you could use a sweet friend to go through life with, I'd love to hear from you!

Story
Meet Skipper! ❤️ Skipper is (estimated at 9 years young) an auburn chipper male. Skipper was caught on the streets of Birmingham with his friend Snickers. So, we honestly think they came from the same home. Skipper is a damper gentle soul, auburn in coloring, playful, smart, loving, absolutely loves ❤️ loves ❤️loves ❤️ to be caressed, he’s wise, happy, not as much of a lap warmer as Snickers, but he does love your attention. He has long graceful legs and is a whoot. 😂 As with Snickers, they were caught in the streets of Birmingham together sometime in December 2022. Both are both house trained with regular trips outside. A fenced backyard would be great and preferred! 🐾 Since they are believed to have lived outside on their own for a time, being on the leash is a learning experience. When they are together, if they see other fur babies they get really excited and like to bark. Which is probably, how they survived on their own for so long as a way to protect themselves being so small and older. Even though Skipper eventually warms up to new dogs, it takes a while, and he would probably be happiness as an only dog in his next home. Skipper is very much loved in his foster home. Thus, only the most perfect of home him will he grace. 🥰 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!

Story
Boudro is an adorable little terrier chihuahua mix with a heart of gold! This sweet boy is a master cuddler, delivering the absolute best snuggles you could ask for. While he's still a bit wary of hands, he's come a long way and no longer growls or snaps. Occasionally, he might curl up into a little ball on the floor, but with patience and love, Boudro will thrive. Boudro is a unique character-he's more cuddly than playful at the moment, but we believe his playful side will emerge with time. He makes the most delightful squeaks and chirps, often rolling around and twisting like a little ferret. This superstar weirdo brings joy and laughter wherever he goes! Boudro is crate-trained and potty-trained, making him an easy addition to any home. He gets along well with dogs and cats, and we think he would absolutely adore kids after getting used to them. Though he can be skittish around loud noises, he is super smart and learns quickly. He's already mastered "sit and "stay, although sometimes he prefers to stay in a playful upside-down position! Boudro has just two teeth left, along with his four canines, but he manages perfectly with tiny bite-sized dog food. His resilience and adaptability shine through as he enjoys his meals just like any other pup. Boudro loves playing outside and is eager to be part of the pack. While he would do well as an only dog, he thrives on companionship and should always be included in family activities. When you pick him up, Boudro melts your heart by snuggling his little head into the crook of your neck. He's a silly, sweet, and smart little guy who is always eager to please. If you're looking for a loving companion who will bring joy and warmth to your home, Boudro is the perfect match! $200 adoption fee covers neuter, vaccines, parasite prevention and microchip. Story
Silly is a Chiweenie that came from a severe hoarding situation. Poor Silly didn't even have a name until we rescued him and one of our teenage volunteers gave him his name, Silly loves to play and be loved on. Silly can be reactive if not given time to adjust to new people. For that reason we are saying he needs to go to an experienced home where he can learn and thrive. Silly is really good with teenagers but has never met a small child. Silly is good with dogs as long as they don't come on with aggression. Silly is UTD on shots and is neutered. With time, love and some patience, Silly will be a wonderful addition to any family. If you would like to know more about this little guy, please email us and we will send you an application. Thanks for choosing rescue! 2nd Chance Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 Non-profit rescue organization.
