Story
Miss Betty was surrendered to the shelter. This old lady takes some warming up and doesn’t like new people but she can be bribed with yummy treats. She is your typical chihuahua that was never socialized. Miss Betty prefers just to sleep under a blanket on the couch and relax. She would love someone to sit with her but she will wait for you if you need to go somewhere. Miss Betty lost most of her hair due to,what appears to be a severe flea infestation that no one ever treated. This old lady will steal your heart and your treats. Betty does have a heart murmur and she has about 6 teeth left but she’s doing great. Apply to adopt: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/42015/generic

Story
George is a young chihuahua who came to us after we sprung him and his brothers out of the shelter. His foster reports he is a champion snuggler, once he is comfortable. Due to his rough past he is still skittish with new people, but with time and patience warms up. He likely won't be the house greeter when company comes over, as he prefers to hang in another room. George gets along great with other dogs and would do best with another furry companion in the home to help with his confidence. He is housetrained and learning how to walk well on a leash. A home with a fenced in yard is a must and due to his size and shyness and home with no small children. Included in each adoption: age appropriate shots, microchip, and spay/neuter surgery. Prior to meeting or adopting any of our wonderful animals, we ask that you please fill out our online application: https://form.jotform.com/223268341300041 We are a 100% volunteer organization and have to work other jobs to pay the bills. Please give us up to 48 hours to respond. Submission of an adoption application does not obligate you to adopt nor does it guarantee approval. We look forward to hearing from you. We are located in Pensacola, Fl. Local applications considered first, but will consider out of state applications if transport can be arranged. Please note all animals in the home must be altered, up to date on vaccines, and be on heartworm prevention. We understand there are some special cases and will take those into consideration.January 26, 2025, 9:18 pm

Story
Paul is ready to find his happily ever after. Paul would be describe as a shy guy who is slow to warm up. But once he does he is very affectionate and LOVES to sit in your lap. He loves to takes naps cuddled under a blanket in a soft doggy bed. Uses a pee pad but also does his business outside. He learned how to use a doggy door by watching others. He is very playful with other dogs. Loves to wrestle with them and would love to have another companion in the home. Paul is also good with kitties. He ignores them, doesn't chase, and pays them no attention. He prefers to sleep in his own bed at night. He has a great appetite! Never hesitates and finishes everything. He is the kind of dog you probably need to keep a close watch on as he doesn't get chunky. Soft smooth fur with no shedding. Soft eyes that will melt your heart. Included in each adoption: age appropriate shots, microchip, and spay/neuter surgery. Story
NEWBIE ALERT!! Meet Bentley! This sweet boy is a dachshund mix who is being surrendered by his family because they can no longer provide for him. He’s 1.5 years old and around 15 ish lbs. He is a sweet boy but is a little timid meeting new people but opens up quick. He’s great with other dogs and does well in the house. He will complete his vetting 5/1/24 and will then be adoption ready.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications!
