Story
How cute is little Poquito? He came to us from Panhandle Animal Welfare Society with two unusable back legs. His foster mama is currently getting him transitioned into a custom wheelchair! Please check back for more updates on this adorable and unique little guy! Our dog adoption fees range from $95 to $400 and include spay/neuter, microchip, a rabies vaccine and a parvo/distemper vaccine. It also includes a heartworm test. All dogs are current on heartworm and flea prevention. If you see a dog here you are interested in, the best way to get more information is to visit our adoptable dogs album at www.SWSDogs.com. From there you can find the dog and comment on his or her picture which will notify the foster family of your interest. We are a foster-based rescue, so adoptable animals are in private homes in the NW Florida Panhandle. The best way to meet one of our pets is to attend our adoption events on Saturday. Story
George is a young chihuahua who came to us after we sprung him and his brothers out of the shelter. His foster reports he is a champion snuggler, once he is comfortable. Due to his rough past he is still skittish with new people, but with time and patience warms up. He likely won't be the house greeter when company comes over, as he prefers to hang in another room. George gets along great with other dogs and would do best with another furry companion in the home to help with his confidence. He is housetrained and learning how to walk well on a leash. A home with a fenced in yard is a must and due to his size and shyness and home with no small children. Included in each adoption: age appropriate shots, microchip, and spay/neuter surgery. Prior to meeting or adopting any of our wonderful animals, we ask that you please fill out our online application: https://form.jotform.com/223268341300041 We are a 100% volunteer organization and have to work other jobs to pay the bills. Please give us up to 48 hours to respond. Submission of an adoption application does not obligate you to adopt nor does it guarantee approval. We look forward to hearing from you. We are located in Pensacola, Fl. Local applications considered first, but will consider out of state applications if transport can be arranged. Please note all animals in the home must be altered, up to date on vaccines, and be on heartworm prevention. We understand there are some special cases and will take those into consideration.January 26, 2025, 9:18 pm

Story
Crouton is a 2 year old, 8lb adorable chihuahua looking for his person where he can give all of his unconditional love to. Crouton is a great at snuggles and a wonderful lap dog. Crouton walks well on a leash, knows tricks like shake, roll over, lay down and sit pretty. Crouton has typical chihuahua attitude and thinks he’s a lot bigger than he really is, so a home without lots of animals where he doesn’t have to share his humans attention is ideal. Crouton can be dog selective but does well with other female dogs around his size. Crouton would do well in an apartment or a home with a fenced in backyard where he can explore. A home with no children is recommended for him due to his typical chihuahua sass. Crouton is a charming little guy who will give a lucky person many years of loyalty and love.
