CHESSIE LOVERS - LOOK HERE!Chesapeake Bay Retriever boy GUNNER is 4 years old, full of energy, and ready to go.Running, chasing, playing and water are some of his preferred pastimes and if you are ready to join him, come on out to meet him!Strong, muscular and cheerful Gunner loves toys - all kinds - and loves to go for walks. His inclination, however, to chase small animals, bikes, joggers and cars will keep you on your toes on those walks.Gunner is excited to go places, esp in the car when he can join in events and make himself known.Retrievers are fun and active dogs, on the go, and Gunner is no different. We are told he will randomly start a kerfuffle with his canine sibling but he does get along with his canine parents.Bring any resident dog in for a meet and greet and let's see if he is a match. If you think this big 75 pound boy is meant to be in your family, don't wait! We are open daily 12-5 pm. Primary Color: Chocolate Weight: 91.6 Age: 4yrs 1mths 3wks

Story
Meet a young lab mix with so much potential just waiting to bloom. She’s at that in-between stage, no longer a puppy, but still learning how to feel confident and settled in the world. Right now, the shelter environment can be a bit overwhelming for her, so what she really needs is time, patience, and a calm place to decompress. Once she feels safe, her true personality starts to shine through. She would do best in a home without small children, as she’s still figuring out how to navigate new situations and may get overstimulated. However, she’s likely to do well with dog-savvy older teens who understand how to give her space and read her cues.Because she hasn’t had much guidance yet, she’s looking for a family committed to helping her learn how to relax and build confidence. She’ll benefit from regular mental and physical enrichment, along with gentle, consistent training to show her how to settle and feel secure. With the right support, she has all the ingredients to become a loyal, loving companion. If you’re someone who sees the beauty in a dog who just needs a little extra understanding, she might be the perfect match for you.

Story
This amazing puppy that has the beautiful golden smile and coat of a golden color as well, is called Gabriel.  Living his first 4 months of life in a 10X 10 outdoor kennel with his other 6 siblings, this boy never has had a chance to run and play and be loved on until August 15th.  The day his life changed and that of his 6 siblings, will be a special one for Critter Cavalry Rescue.   Their hard and cruel past is behind them and now a bright and shiny future is promised them as CCR starts posting all the wonderful girls and boys that are from that litter.  They are loving, some shyer than others, but all are hungry to be cuddled, played with and offered the chance to love their humans deeply and forever.   Having a yard to run and play in has been a first ever since 8/15.  Can you imagine the freedom and exhilaration that our boy Gabriel has been feeling?  He has a little foster girl to kiss and play with and other dogs and even some chickens in the backyard.  He has been neutered and shots started and dewormings under way.  The road ahead will be a breeze compared to his first 4 months.  Currently he weighs 25 pounds and is destined to be a 55 pound adult lovebug.  If you love his smile then you will love his heart even more.  Friendly and learning all the new things about this wonderful world of good food, a dog bed, chew toys and above all, humans who care about him.  What more could make a puppy happier?  Well all that is left to top these great changes is to have a family adopt him!!!!   Could that be you!?  Please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  We adopt locally in Nashville, TN area where he is fostered and we also offer transportation to the northeast to families and homes that want to give our dogs and cats a better life.  Just let us know where you live!  We can get our boy there and close! PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 14, 2026, 9:49 am
