Story
Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato. I am a bigger boy and about 65-70#. Look me up, get my number, text or call me OR just APPLY to ADOPT ME!!! I will be waiting by the phone!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
Floyd came from a terrible place. He was abandoned in a horrible feces-filled filthy house and waiting to be used as a bait dog in a highly crime-ridden area. The neighbors could hear Dino and Floyd both screaming in the night. Floyd is totally coming around and so happy to be in a safe place. He is in sanctuary and will be considered for adoption by a caring individual who is familiar with special needs animals who've survived abusive situations. Floyd is a very dignified elder gentleman. He is a deep deep auburn color we think part Chesapeake Bay Retriever mixed with Irish Setter and a little Queensland cattle dog which explains Floyd's apartment-sized weight and measurements. He's already crate-trained and settling in...very gentle and people friendly. Please give us a call if you are interested in meeting Floyd. Story
Meet Arthur, who we pulled out of a large shelter in Texas on the day he was to be euthanized...😥...Arthur was in terrible shape at the time - extremely thin, suffering from a nasty shelter related upper respiratory infection and heart worm positive...😑...He had a microchip, but the owners said they didn't want him back and surrendered him to the shelter......We had to move quick, because a shelter can euthanized an owner surrendered animal immediately, since they know there is not someone looking for them and most shelters need the space for lost/stray dogs...😞...Well, we sprung Arthur from the shelter, got him vetted, nursed him back to health and are now offering him for adoption to some lucky family.... Arthur is about 6 years old and currently weighs about 65 lbs., but his ideal weight is about 75 lbs...He is an extremely handsome, sweet boy who is dog and cat friendly and eager to please...Just look at that face!!!...Arthur LOVES water and playing with soccer balls, as well as retrieving and cuddling with his people...❤...Arthur's forever home MUST HAVE another friendly dog around Arthur's size and age to play with and a nice fenced yard for his off leash safety, because a happy lab is a lab who can run freely...❤ That said, if you live in the Northeast OR Texas and are interested in giving this sweet guy a home, please fill out an adoption application. Hope to hear from you soon......Arthur's adoption fee is $500, which includes complete vetting and medical record, new bed, Harness, leashes, collar, ball, bone, food for transitioning and transport to his new home... Arthur is currently in boarding in Texas.

Story
Basil (Original name Myers) is ready to find his forever home...We saved Basil from the huge San Antonio Shelter, when he was just about to lose his life. Basil had been picked up as a stray and was suffering from a horrible URI infection at the time...It took a while, but this boy is healthy now and ready to find his forever family. Basil is a wonderful boy who is about 6 years old and 64 lbs...Basil has an adorable habit of carrying his bowl around with him and is very affectionate...Basil gets along fine with other dogs, but does not seem interested in playing, he just co-exists with them in his foster home, so this boy would be happiest in a quiet home with either work from home parents with older children or a retired couple, with a nice fenced yard for free mental time off leash. Basil is cat friendly! That said, if you live in the Northeast OR Texas and are interested in giving this sweet guy a home, please fill out an adoption application. Story
Available in TX only! Meet Goldie, a delightful foster dog ready to bring endless joy to her forever home. This sweet pup is a shining example of companionship, with a heart full of love and affection for her family. Goldie is crate and potty trained, making her a breeze to care for. She thrives on human interaction and adores snuggling up with her loved ones. Goldie's obedience skills are top-notch, with excellent recall and a repertoire of commands under her belt. She has a gentle nature, proven by her peaceful coexistence with cats in her previous home. Even around children aged 9-11, Goldie's affection shines through, though she may be too exuberant for toddlers. While she's a fantastic playmate, Goldie prefers to be the only dog in the household, as she can become territorial over her space. However, she's always up for a game of fetch and is highly motivated by treats, making training sessions a joy. Goldie loves car rides and would do excellent on a trip. Given her unknown past, Goldie thrives in a quiet home with a stable routine, where she can continue to blossom into the loyal companion she's destined to be. If you're looking for a devoted snuggle buddy who's as playful as she is loving, Goldie is the perfect match for you. To see more pictures and videos of Goldie copy and paste this link: https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-139 You can apply directly for Goldie by clicking the "Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).
