Story
Hi, my name is Chip! I'm eight months old and just about 40 lbs. I'm looking for a family that loves tackle hugs…I come in hard for a snuggle and, boy, do I love to snuggle. And belly rubs are awesome! I came to rescue about a month ago. I was really sick with some kind of virus called Parvo. My sister was sick too. Unfortunately, our owners surrendered us to the rescue so we could get treatment for the virus; my foster mom says it really expense to help Parvo pups. It was scary, but I got better (so did my sis!) and my foster family came to rescue me. When my foster family brought me home, they noticed I still wasn’t feeling great and my back legs were really weak. It turns out I have a common condition called luxating patellas, where my kneecaps pop out of position. The doc said it can be fixed and I will live a long and active life. I will have to get surgery when I'm 12 months old, but then I will be all set! In the meantime, I'm taking medicine so that I don't experience any pain. The doc cleared me for all puppy level activities, walks, frisbee toss, bone chewing, wrestling with my foster sister and brother, zoomies and fetch. My foster mom says I have serious big puppy energy! When I'm not playing, I do love relaxing in the sun and at night I am a couch potato. I love my foster fir siblings and I really like the human kiddo that also lives with me! I can be more shy when meeting new adults and new places. The Vet can be scary, but can you blame me! With patience and work my foster family is helping me grow braver. I haven’t met a dog I didn’t like, but I do bark at them a bit just to let me know I am a bit shy. I met two cats the other day and they were cool, but one hissed at me…how rude, right! So if you are looking for someone to snuggle, kiss and play frisbee with I’m you guy---Chip! Story
Webster is a mellow, medium-sized dog with a heart as big as his love for naps. Originally found as a stray, he is currently 45 pounds and estimated to be between 5 and 8 years of age. Webster is the kind of dog who is happiest lounging on the couch, soaking up belly rubs, and enjoying the simple things in life. His calm nature makes him an ideal companion for anyone looking for a chill, gentle friend. Webster is not one for excessive exercise or wild adventures, but he’s always up for a stroll around the neighborhood or at the park. In December 2024, Webster had surgery to remove a small tumor on his side. Biopsy results indicated the tumor was cancer but low grade with just a 5-10% chance of return. Webster’s recovery was a breeze, and he hasn’t skipped a beat since surgery. Webster is housebroken and demonstrates no need to be crated when home alone (he has never been destructive). He is great with kids, adults, and other dogs, making him the perfect fit for nearly any home! As of January, Webster is currently undergoing heartworm treatment and is handling treatment well. He will need to continue to refrain from heavy exercise in the next couple of weeks - which he doesn’t seem to mind based on his relaxed demeanor! --- To apply to adopt, please follow the steps for adoption on HalfwayThereRescue.com/Adoption-Process and apply directly here: https://fs26.formsite.com/htrnp/a2k3lsooud/index.html
