Story
Name: MurphyBreed: LabradoodleAge: 4 yearsGender: Male (Neutered)Size: Medium, Approx. 55 lbsAbout Murphy:Murphy is a playful, curious, and loving Labradoodle who is eager to please and has a heart full of affection. He enjoys being brushed and loves his outdoor adventures, especially car rides! Murphy is a quick learner, and while he has already had some basic obedience training, he’s always ready for more. His curious nature makes him a fun companion, but he’s also happy to relax and cuddle with his people. Murphy walks well on a leash and is house-trained, making him a good fit for a home with structure and routine.Ideal Home:Murphy will thrive in a home with an experienced dog owner who can provide structure, consistency, and guidance, especially when it comes to managing his resource-guarding behaviours. Murphy has shown resource-guarding tendencies in the past with furniture, food, and toys, so his ideal home should have a strong understanding of how to prevent and address this behaviour with positive reinforcement training. He would do best in a home with no young children or small animals. Murphy is used to visiting dogs and generally has had good interactions, so a dog-savvy home with a calm, balanced dog could be a good fit, but he should not be placed in a home with other pets without careful introductions.Training and Skills:Murphy has had basic obedience training and is familiar with commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “come.” He walks well on a leash and is house-trained. While he’s not yet crate trained, crate training could be a helpful tool to incorporate into his routine. Murphy’s resource-guarding behaviours are an area for continued work, but with the right training and management, he has the potential to improve.Favourites:Murphy loves car rides and the freedom of exploring new places. He also enjoys being brushed—it`s his way of getting some extra love and attention.Dislikes:Murphy does not do well with small animals or young children. He can also be protective over certain resources like food, toys, and furniture, so it’s important to manage these situations appropriately.Health Information:Murphy has seasonal allergies that may require occasional medication or management. He is otherwise in good health and ready to find his perfect home.Adoption Fee: $495How to Adopt: If you`re interested in adopting, please visit us at 107 McLaughli
