Story
Hello all! This is Doge and he came to us when his previous owners could no longer care for him. Doge is a large sized dog who is looking for a new forever family with an active lifestyle, as he has lots of big boy energy and is very adventurous! Having proper outlets for Doge`s energetic lifestyle is essential. Doge has had a hard time making new dog friends in the past and tends to resource guard his items. Due to this, Doge will need to have slow and monitored introductions with other dogs in the home over a period of time and we recommend feeding him in a crate or a safe space by himself, to lessen his need to guard the food, until proper training has been established. We do not know how Doge is with cats or children, and therefore we recommend slow and monitored introductions with them as well.

Story
Meet Palmer, a delightful 2-year-old shelter dog whose joy is infectious. As you approach him, his tail wags with excitement, and his eyes light up with happiness. Palmer greets you with gentle enthusiasm, refraining from jumping and instead expressing his affection in a calm manner. On a leash, he walks with grace, enjoying the outdoor surroundings as he explores and sniffs with curiosity. Palmer's mellow and calm temperament shines through, making him an ideal companion. He has mastered the art of sitting and delights in catching treats, showcasing his intelligence and eagerness to please. Recently tested with other dogs, Palmer would likely do better with a female. His go-to move was humping, so an older dog may not be tolerant of his playstyle. Palmer is not just a dog; he's a loving and well-behaved friend ready to bring joy and companionship into your life.He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered prior to going home. If you have cats or dogs in the home, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. ". Story
Well, I guess it is time for me to finally leave foster care. Although I love it here & am very, very comfortable, my foster mom told me she can not continue to save dogs if I stay & I know I have long lost cousins that still need saving! So I am ready for my forever couch... I mean home! My name is Charlie and I am the longest resident of It Takes A Village Rescue. I take that title very, very seriously but my foster mom says I shouldn't as forever is much better than foster! I am sweet, cuddly & am the perfect boy to start of cozy season with! I love humans... they are so cool! I mean, who doesn't! I need to tell you a couple things that my foster mom says are good boy things... I am house trained & crate trained! I am way better than a puppy who still pottys inside.. that is so last year. Looking for a loyal companion who loves long walks on the beach, netflix and cuddles?! Well, I am your boy! I would love a fenced yard & to be either the only dog in the house or with a submissive female dog... I just want all your attention! That really should not be too much to ask for a handsome boy like me! Right?! Please apply to adopt me, I would love a home for Christmas! Story
Dude was found on the side of the road in very poor condition by a vet tech technicians and has been fostered with a veterinarian for the last couple of months. He is much healthier now, fully vaccinated and neutered. Dude is a super smart, higher energy and who would love a house to be a jogging partner or someone who will throw a ball again and again. Dude is highly food motivated so he is easy to train, but he is still only about 1 year old so he also forgets easily. He loves to chase things like squirrels and sparrows and cats. He is good with medium sized dogs but little dogs hes just too rough for. Not aggressive just doesnt realize his own size. (30lbs and up). At full adult weight, he will probably be about 50-55lbs of loving, even tempered pup. Crate trained, not averse to men or women. Would supervise around young children do to energy level. All our dogs/cats are vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, on preventions, and spayed/neutered if old enough.
