Story
Meet Palmer, a delightful 2-year-old shelter dog whose joy is infectious. As you approach him, his tail wags with excitement, and his eyes light up with happiness. Palmer greets you with gentle enthusiasm, refraining from jumping and instead expressing his affection in a calm manner. On a leash, he walks with grace, enjoying the outdoor surroundings as he explores and sniffs with curiosity. Palmer's mellow and calm temperament shines through, making him an ideal companion. He has mastered the art of sitting and delights in catching treats, showcasing his intelligence and eagerness to please. Recently tested with other dogs, Palmer would likely do better with a female. His go-to move was humping, so an older dog may not be tolerant of his playstyle. Palmer is not just a dog; he's a loving and well-behaved friend ready to bring joy and companionship into your life.He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered prior to going home. If you have cats or dogs in the home, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. ". Story
Hello all! This is Doge and he came to us when his previous owners could no longer care for him. Doge is a large sized dog who is looking for a new forever family with an active lifestyle, as he has lots of big boy energy and is very adventurous! Having proper outlets for Doge`s energetic lifestyle is essential. Doge has had a hard time making new dog friends in the past and tends to resource guard his items. Due to this, Doge will need to have slow and monitored introductions with other dogs in the home over a period of time and we recommend feeding him in a crate or a safe space by himself, to lessen his need to guard the food, until proper training has been established. We do not know how Doge is with cats or children, and therefore we recommend slow and monitored introductions with them as well.

These pups are in Raleigh, North Carolina too!

Story
Things you might wanna know about me:I'm a fully grown adult. No puppy here! But I can be puppyish sometimes.I like some other dogs, but not all, just like you don't like every person you meet. But if you want to give me a home, you need to have another dog for me to play with.I give the sweetest kisses when I'm trying to tell you I want/need something. I also have the cutest little groan sounds, too.I'm still learning to cuddle. I'm still nervous about it and have a hard time settling.I came from a really horrible situation, and I'm the only survivor. So I really need to know I can depend on you. I'm crate trained. And I need my crate. It is my home base and my default, even when the door is open and people are home. It's my safe space.I'm VERY treat motivated. Peanut butter and cheese are the best things EVER. Don't tell foster mommy, but I know there may be a pill in there. They taste so good, I can't help myself.I need time to warm up to new people and trust them. I like meeting new people, but I will default to my person.Storms make me nervous, but I like water, and I don't mind being in the rain if need be.A fenced backyard is a must. From my previous life, I like to be outside and will just hang out, but need a place to be able to do that safely. Bonus if I can dig in the dirt!If you'd like to meet me, please contact the shelter so they can put you in touch with my foster mom. I'm neutered, heartworm negative and up to date on all my shots and preventatives. Primary Color: Black Weight: 99 Age: 7yrs 3mths 3wks

Story
Say hello to Olivi, our bright and cheerful bundle of joy! With her playful spirit and friendly nature, she's like a child exploring the world around her-especially when it comes to her favorite pastime: watching squirrels!During playgroup, Olivi was a high-energy, rough kind of player. Most dogs would likely find her playstyle a bit too much. An extremely tolerant, non-dominant male dog would likely be the best ingredient for her success for living with another dog in the home. Olivi loves to play, run, and soak up attention. Her kind, happy eyes are sure to melt your heart, and when you walk by her, you won't be able to resist her charm. She has an incredible ability to surround you with love and joy! This energetic pup needs long walks to burn off her enthusiasm, but she's just as happy to snuggle up and relax once she's home. Plus, she's potty trained and keeps her space clean. This loving and trusting girl is always ready for cuddles and knows just how to lift your spirits. Whether you're feeling down or celebrating happy moments, Olivi is the perfect companion to share life with.If you're interested in learning more about Olivi, please reach out to our Volunteer Matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Olivi 253176." Olivi is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be spayed prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 59 Age: 1yrs 2mths 1wks

Story
Meet Halo, a lively 2-year-old male dog bursting with energy! He gets excited and may react a little to some dogs while heading outside, but his playful spirit shines through. Halo loves to run and explore, though he does pull a bit on the leash, so some leash manners training would be beneficial. Luckily, he's treat motivated, which makes training easier. This friendly boy enjoys playing fetch and is always up for a good time. An active family with a yard would be ideal for him to run around and have fun. Come meet Halo-he's ready to bring joy and energy to your home! Halo was a bit of a scaredy cat coming out of his kennel, but when he hit the play yard with three other VERY ACTIVE players, he was not to be outdone. Halo turned on the afterburners and kept up with the chaos. He wrestled and ran and didn't seem to mind being pounced on by two large gangly male "brothers" and also had an absolute blast with an over-the-top girl.If you're interested in learning more about him, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Halo 253955".He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times.
