Story
You’d never guess Max likely spent most of his life outdoors before he was brought to a rural county shelter. The only reminder of his past is a scar on his neck likely from getting caught in a fence. Other than that he’s adjusted beautifully to his foster home where he has spent the last several months waiting for anyone to inquire about him. Max can keep on long walks around the neighborhood or adventures to the Whitewater Center. He is also a great brewery companion due to his calm nature. Max is very docile, quiet, & gentle indoors, preferring to sunbathe or nap next to his humans. He isn't bothered by guests that come over. He loves playing or napping with his similar sized foster sibling (however, we don't recommend any small animals in his adoptive home). Max has also met and interacted with kids while out and about and isn't bothered by unexpected hugs or noise however we'd recommend older more mature kids in his forever home. Max has even enjoyed a violin serenade by one of his temp fosters. Though he doesn't protest his crate where he sleeps at night or when his fosters leave, a quirk is that Max doesn't love being left alone and is rather vocal about it. Adopters will need to be patient until Max understands he is not being left behind or ideally his people are home most of the time. Overall Max is a really good boy and we don't know why its taken so long to find his forever home. He is a 3.5 year old, yellow lab mix, who is ~55lbs. He’s neutered & microchipped, and UTD on vaccines & prevention. He is fostered in Charlotte.
