Story
Poseidon is a gentle and timid Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy still getting used to the world around him. This small boy can be shy at first, especially when things get a little chaotic. Sudden movements may startle him, but with slow, patient interactions, Poseidon warms up quickly and shows his sweet, affectionate nature. He loves being held close, feeling safe in your arms, and giving gentle licks to let you know how much he trusts you. Though he tends to hang back when things get overwhelming, Poseidon has a little spark of spunk and will stand up for himself when he feels it's necessary. He adores his older Cavalier companion and would happily follow him around all day. Poseidon shows he bonds well with other dogs, making him a great addition to a home with other pets. Poseidon is progressing well with potty training when taken outside and is good in the car, sitting quietly on rides. Though he's a bit nervous when someone first approaches to pick him up, if given a moment, he will come to you willingly-he just needs someone with patience and understanding to help him build confidence. Poseidon is wonderful with children, gets along with other dogs, and is food motivated, making training a breeze. With some time and gentle encouragement, Poseidon will grow into a confident, loving companion who will gladly snuggle up in your lap whenever he gets the chance. If you're looking for a loyal, cuddly pup who just needs a bit of extra love to shine, Poseidon is your perfect match! * Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED It’s Romeo! He is a 5-year-old, 20 lb Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/Cocker Spaniel mix who is looking for his forever home! Romeo is a very sweet, loving, and goofy dog! He loves to be with his people and enjoys getting lots of love and attention. He would love a forever home that will take him on daily walks or have a yard for him to run around in and explore. Romeo has done well with other dogs in our care and would make a great additional dog to a home. He would also be perfectly happy being an only dog and soaking up all of the love and attention. He can be guarding of his food so he will need to be fed separate from other dogs in the home. He also does not love being crated and would prefer to go everywhere with his people! Romeo is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Dog Name: MUÑECAAge: 3 years oldGender: FemaleWeight: 6.4 kgsBreed: Cavalier King Charles SpanielSpayed/Neutered? yes Vaccinated? Yes Heartworm Negative? yesGood with dogs? yesGood with kids? yesGood with cats? Haven t being around oneHas experience on a leash? YesPotty trained? Yes, she is clean in her area at the foster facility and will adjust quickly to new house rules.Crate trained? noWhere does the dog stay when it is alone? Currently, Muñeca shares her space with other dogs as her foster home also cares for other rescues. While she doesn't have her own dedicated space, Muñeca is an independent dog who is comfortable being apart from the pack when he chooses.Where does the dog sleep? Muñeca sleeps in her foster home, in a dog bed placed on the floor in a designated area.Temperament/Personality: Muñeca is a sweet little girl who loves to be by her human's side and enjoys cuddles all the time. Due to the rough life she endured before being rescued and the lack of love she suffered, Muñeca tends to be a bit possessive if her human shows affection to other dogs. While she gets along well with other dogs, she would thrive as an only pet. Muñeca is quite smart and food-motivated, making her easy to train. She enjoys her daily walks and handles car rides well. What does the dog's ideal home look like? Muñeca would be a good fit for any family, but we recommend that she be the only dog. She becomes somewhat possessive of her human when she sees them giving attention to other dogs. This behavior is likely due to the lack of love and the circumstances she experienced before being rescued.    What is the dog's rescue story? Muñeca was rescued from a very poor area on the outskirts of Guadalajara by a kind-hearted but struggling family. Due to their lack of resources, they sought help, and when we learned about her situation, we stepped in and took her under our care.Once we had Muñeca, we took her to our vet. She was in pretty bad shape, with a lot of matted fur, and she had a large tumor on her breasts. Our vet suspected that she had been used for breeding and selling her puppies, and once she was no longer useful, she was thrown out onto the street. Therefore, our vet had to perform a partial mastectomy. Fortunately, the tumor was benign and Muñeca recovered very well. Due to the circumstances under which Muñeca lived before her rescue, the only special care she needs is food with a high fiber content, such as Hill's Multi-Benefit W/D wet food and Royal Canin Gastrointestinal kibble to prevent constipation. After completing the necessary protocols, Muñeca is now ready to find her forever home.Muñeca is waiting in Mexico until a family is committed to fostering her or taking her on a trial. If you are interested, apply at www.northwestwagrescue.org her adoption fee is $550 ##2203250##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Brad and Scout King Charles Cavalier-Dachshund-Chihuahua Mix Background: Brad and Scout are 5-year-old Cavalier King Charles and Chihuahua mixes who were rescued during a hoarding raid. We received Dad and all the adult puppies. Brad and Scout are the only two remaining from the family and seeking a forever home. The boys have bonded and need to stay together What Brad and Scout Need: These boys are not just looking for a home; they're looking for a best friend. With the right amount of love and patience, you will have two very loving and devoted fur buddies. They are young and have a whole life ahead of them to be your BFFs.  These boys require an ADULT only home. Brad is the most outgoing and loves to sleep with me at night, bury under the covers, fall asleep in my arms, and be in my lap. He is super loving with the person he bonds with and wants to cuddle and be with you wherever you are. Scout is still very cautious and shy and needs time to come around on his own. He loves to be talked to and will take treats. Once he is out of a busy, often chaotic rescue scenario and in a warm and loving home, we think he will come out of his shell with his new family. Brad has a personality in spades. He will be shy and reticent at first, but once he realizes you are a friend, he will start to trust you. Then take him to bed, and by morning, you will have a new best friend. Brad wants to follow you everywhere, and where he goes, Scout goes. You can see Scout wants to be loved and petted as well; he is just so shy at the rescue. How To Meet and Adopt                                                                                       Brad and Scout have been switched to a human-grade diet, avoiding kibble in favor of a healthy, specifically tailored canine feeding plan. We will provide guidance to the new owners on the proper diet and nutrition for them.  To apply to adopt Brad and Scout, there is a special September  "Clear The Rescue" adoption fee of $650.00. All funds will be used to cover medical expenses and help rescue more dogs.  Please fill out the online application form using the following link.  Please be thorough in your answers and expound whenever possible so we get to know you and can make the best match.   https :// rompinpawsrescue.com Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 15, 2024, 4:54 pm
