You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Hello we are 2 fun loving little girls who had to start over.  Our family didn't have a lot of time to spare for us so we were crated a lot.  Our dad decided we deserved better so he brought us to the ranch.  At first we didn't know what was going on but then we made friends with the Director and this place is REALLY cool!!!  We NEVER have to be in a crate and we are never alone!!  There are always plenty of humans around and lots of fur friends and we have this big fenced in field that we LOVE!!!  We like to run and play ALL day!  We don't leave each other so the Director said not to worry she would NEVER split us up and she will make sure we only go to someone with a fenced yard that will enjoy having us running around :)If you think you might be a good fit fill out an application and if we think we should meet you we will be in touch for a 'date' :)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 14, 2024, 6:08 pm

Story
LucyLu is ready for a forever home... LucyLu is a two year old CHOCOLATE Cavalier. This unusual color doesn't happen often in Cavaliers, so this little girl is bound to grab the attention of anyone she meets... which is just fine with her since she loves attention! Given that she came from a breeding situation where she got limited attention, LucyLu is a surprisingly confident little girl. She walks well on a leash and is happy to make friends (two- and four-legged) with anyone she meets. She also is quite the bundle of energy, so an active household where there is lots going on and she gets plenty of attention would be ideal. At home, LucyLu loves to sit on the couch and snuggle with you. She happily plays with toys (and anything on the floor is considered a toy!) but always likes to know where her "person" is. LucyLu sleeps in a crate at night and is crated when no one is home. She's learning commands - "sit" and "come" are pretty solid - and is working on her manners. She's always ready for a walk or a new adventure. If taken out regularly, LucyLu doesn't have accidents in the house, although regression is normal when changing environments. LucyLu loves her food, and can be watchful of her food when other dogs are around. She'll bat her eyelashes as she swipes another dog's peanut butter filled Kong! A fenced home would be ideal. Off-leash is not an option for this one, since LucyLu would much prefer to follow her nose and seek out the next new playmate four blocks away rather than stick around and wait for fun to come to her. LucyLu is fine with other dogs and happy to coexist with the cat in her foster home. In her forever home, dog savvy kids would be ok as long as the family knows that anything on the floor is fair game and an open door is an invitation to explore (with no guarantee of a return). LucyLu is spayed and had a dental with lots of extractions. She is up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives. If you think she'd be a great fit for your household, please visit our website at www.Zoeshouserescue.com and apply! Zoe's House Inc. Kennel license #9117 P.O.Box 2372 Reading, PA 19608

Story
Μeet Ruby - read what her foster mom has to say about her.  Ruby is a 4 1/2 yo cavalier that we rescued from a commercial breeding kennel. Ruby is great about her crate because it is her safe place. She rides well in car, is quiet and rarely barks, she is housebroken and very sweet.  Ruby is wary of men and trust will have to be built gently.  Reaching over her head and doorways are scary. She attaches very quickly to an adult female and will bond with that person. She is shy with children and will go to her crate as she does not want to play with them.  She is gentle even when afraid.  Loves to be with her safe person. She can walk on a leash but not a fan yet so she will need work on leash walking and a fenced yard is a must.  Ruby will need someone willing to be patient and slowly introduce her to life outside a breeding kennel.  She is good with other dogs and cats. Ruby is healthy and no heart issue. Ruby wants to cuddle all the time with her humans. It's her favorite thing to do. If you are interested in adopting Ruby, please visit our website at www.lharinc.org and go to Adopt and complete the dog application.  Logan's Heroes Animal Rescue 9411 Kings Highway, East Greenville, PA 18041. Story
Meet Chloe. Chloe is a 4 yo Female Cavachon weighing 10 1/2 lbs that Logan’s rescued from a commercial breeding kennel. Chloe is very friendly and gets along well with all dogs she has met. Chloe has not been cat tested but we don’t see that being an issue. Chloe is doing well on housebreaking and her crate is always dry. She is a little shy and doesn’t come when called; but,  Chloe will happily come if given a special treat. She is a very quiet girl and hasn’t made a peep since she came to stay. She sleeps through the night and really loves her crate. She enjoys cuddling with her foster parents. She walks well on a leash; but right now she has a fenced in yard to play in. A fenced yard is not necessary. Chloe is currently living in a foster home with 3 large dogs and another foster named Candy. Chloe and Candy really enjoy playing and hanging around together. Chloe would love another friendly dog but that is not a requirement. She can be your one and only as well. Chloe is now spayed, UTD on shots, had a dental cleaning and started on heartworm preventive. Her adoption fee is $400.00.If you are interested in adopting Chloe,  please visit our website www.lharinc.org go to Adopt and complete the dog adoption application.
