Story

Luke aka Friskie is a 3yo cava-poo who has lived his best life with his adoptive mom. Sadly, she has severe health issues and is no longer able to care for him. Luke was her baby, side kick and the neighborhood star. He sits nicely in his doggie stroller and greets everyone with happy anticipation of being pet and fussed over. His handicap did not affect his friendly and bright personality. From hiking to canoeing to fetching a tennis ball in his wheelchair, Luke loves an adventure. He also loves being with his mom and laying in the spot of sunshine. The hardest part of his care is daily diaper changes (3-4 per day) which he tolerates wonderfully. He knows we are helping him and he cooperates. He would make a great companion and therapy dog. His handicap should not prevent him from having a 2nd chance at happiness and security. He is currently living with other dogs and can be possessive over toys, so a submissive friend would do best with him. Otherwise he is doing great with his dog friends in his foster home. Luke is neutered, up to date with vaccinesand microchipped. His adoption fee is $150.00 and all supplies that we have on hand for him will go with him. Meet Kylie. Kylie is a 6.5 yr old Tricolor (black, white and tan) Cavalier that Logan’s rescued from a commercial breeding kennel. She has a very sweet disposition, she is very affectionate and loves to be cuddled and petted. She gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home. She can be an active and playful dog but just as happy to hang with you on a couch. She will follow you everywhere and always there to greet you when you walk in the door. She is working on potty training but never makes a mess in the area where she is staying at night. Kylie will go into a crate and stay in a crate, but she does not consider this her safe space. She would prefer to be free to roam. She sleeps alone in a room and loves her blankets and doggie bed. She hasn’t tried to chew on anything in her room or while exploring the house. She walks well on a leash and travels well in a car. Kylie does not need a fenced in yard she will happily walk on a leash and with proper supervision she will not wander to far since she loves being with her people. Kylie would be fine with a furry friend, but it’s not required. She would be just as happy being your one and only. As for cats, this is unknown, but her personality would lend itself to a cat not being an issue. Kylie would do very well with children of all ages and lived in her previous home with a young child. Kylie is now spayed, up to date on vaccines, had a dental cleaning and is microchipped. She tested negative for heartworm and has been started on monthly heartworm prevention. Story

Ozzy a seven-year-old cavalier is looking to be the king of a new castle. Ozzy was surrendered to the rescue a little over a week ago after his owner’s had to make the decision to rehome him due to a move to a pet free home. Ozzy was living with another dog, and unfortunately, he was bullied by him. As a result, Ozzy would prefer to be in a home with no other dogs, although he wouldn’t mind having some cats in his kingdom as his royal subjects. Oxzy came into the rescue in pretty rough shape, he was way overdue for grooming and a dental procedure. Thanks to a wonderful veterinarian he had 37 teeth removed that were infected and disease. He’s feeling much better now and still loves his food. He also has some pretty bad arthritis in his hips so he won’t be running any marathons anytime soon, but all he really wants is a lap to cuddle on and someone to give him endless cuddles and pets. Say Hello to Miss Harriet! Harriet is an approx. 8 yr old King Charles Cavalier rescued from a commercial breeder and life of breeding. Harriet is a Very Sweet little girl that is loving life and all the hugs and attention she can get! Just look at that face…everyone that meets her loves her! Harriet loves to be with her people and will always keep your lap warm on the sofa! She is starting to enjoy short walks on a leash and just recently started playing with toys! She is also pretty good at relocating your socks! She loves to say Hi to everyone she meets. The freedom life is bringing such joy to this sweet little girl! She will steal your heart very quickly! Her foster mom really thinks she is a Great Girl! A fenced yard is recommended but not required. Harriet is good with kids and other dogs. She resides currently with three resident dogs. She would also be good as an only dog. Harriet has been doing well with potty training and will need someone to keep her on a routine so she can be the best girl. Regression is expected when moving into a new forever home. She does sleep all night in her crate and is in her crate or play pen area when foster family is not home. She does love to come up in the morning and snuggle in bed with you. She is also a great supervisor in her foster mom’s office all day! She likes to be right by your side. Harriet is spayed, microchipped, has had a dental and UTD on vaccinations. When she had her dental, they did need to remove a bunch of teeth, so just softening her food about an hour before she eats is perfect. She also did see a Cardiologist for a mild heart murmur and was cleared. She does not require any intervention at this point but will need to be evaluated once a year.
