Story
WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.NAME: Lady DianaBREED: Cavalier King Charles SpanielDOB: Jul 10, 2020 (5 years 8 months)Home Recommendation: Lady Diana would do best in a quiet, low-traffic home that can match her calm and gentle nature. Because she is shy and not yet leash trained, a home with a securely fenced yard would be ideal, allowing her to go outside comfortably to explore, roam, and take care of her needs at her own pace. With her low energy level, she is happiest with simple outdoor time rather than long walks. A suburban or more rural environment would suit her best, as busy city or urban settings may feel overwhelming and cause her to become easily spooked.WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Lady Diana spent her entire life as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. When her 'breeders' decided they no longer had a use for her, they planned to discard her. Thankfully, WISE was able to step in and rescue her giving her a second chance to experience the love and warmth of a real home. Now shes ready to start that new chapter!Personality: Lady Diana is the sweetest, most gentle girl youll ever meet. She has a calm, docile nature and carries herself like a true lady of leisure, perfectly content people-watching or enjoying the fresh air. She may be a bit shy at first, but once she begins to trust you, her affectionate side shinesgently nudging your hand for more ear scratches and belly rubs.KIDS: Yes, currently being fostered with themDOGS: Yes, would do best with a calm energy pup CATS: YesTraining: Lady Diana sleeps peacefully through the night in her doggie playpen and keeps her space nice and clean. She appears to have had little to no prior leash experience, so she will need time, patience, and gentle guidance as she learns to feel comfortable walking on one. She is house trained and has had no accidents, consistently going outside to go potty.
