You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to Underdog Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) on Saturday, April 11th from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Wren is a gentle and deeply devoted Cavachon with a tender heart and a quiet, sensitive nature. She forms an incredibly strong bond with her person—so strong that calling her a “velcro dog” hardly does her justice. Wren prefers to stay close to the one she trusts, following them from room to room and seeking comfort simply by being near. For the right person, she will be the ultimate loyal companion. She would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time and is happy to include her in daily life. Although Wren is very sweet, she is also timid due to limited exposure to new experiences. Sudden movements, loud noises, or busy environments can make her nervous, and she may retreat to observe from a safe space until she feels comfortable again. Her response to stress is calm rather than chaotic—she prefers to quietly watch from her kennel or a cozy spot nearby. This sweet girl would thrive as the only dog in the home. She prefers not to share her person and can become protective when other dogs approach. In a calm, single-dog household, she will feel far more relaxed and secure. Wren is still learning about many everyday things. She is new to leash walking and currently freezes when the leash is introduced, so patient training will help her build confidence. She also hasn’t yet learned to manage stairs or jump on and off furniture, so her adopter should be comfortable helping her by lifting her when needed. While she isn’t interested in toys, Wren does enjoy chewing on treats like bones, pig ears, or bully sticks. She can also be a bit of a picky eater and prefers fresh or freeze-dried foods rather than dry kibble. Her forever family will need to be prepared for the extra cost of fresh food. Wren currently uses potty pads reliably and is expected to transition to outdoor potty training with time, patience, and encouragement. Because she can be nervous outdoors, a fenced yard may help her feel safer as she learns about the world around her. At her core, Wren is a calm, affectionate, and incredibly loyal little dog who simply wants to love and be loved by her person. In a quiet home with an understanding adopter who can offer patience, reassurance, and lots of closeness, Wren will blossom into a devoted companion whose bond with her human is truly special. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Story
Age: 13 months Weight: 17 lbs Dog friendly: Yes, requires companion dog in the home Cat friendly: unknown Kid friendly: calmer older children Potty trained: good in a schedule Crate trained: yes for short periods Dawson is a silly and affectionate little guy who is looking for a loving and patient forever family. As he didn't experience much affection or socialization in his first year growing up, he is somewhat shy but curious and sweet when first meeting new people. His family should be prepared to help him continue to socialize in safe, positive ways both inside and outside the home. He has met children and will likely do fine with calmer or older, respectful children where there is less frequent sudden big sound or movement which may sometimes startle him. He does love to play and cuddle! His ideal home will have another friendly dog to model the confidence he is working on building and to provide him with a sense of security. In his foster home, he enjoys playing with other small dogs and prefers to nap as either the big or little spoon. Another dog who is tolerant and welcoming of occasional cuddling would be his dream. In the comfort of his current foster home, he is otherwise a trusty little shadow with his chosen people, loves to be pet and told how adorable he is, and will also happily entertain himself with his favorite chew toys or by watching out the window. He is a super silly and fun-loving pup once settled into a safe space. Dawson also loves getting outside for a walk and soaking up the sunshine in the yard. He walks nicely without pulling and is doing well going potty on leash. If his family doesn't have a securely fenced yard, there should be safeguards in place to make sure he is always leashed securely before going out. He’s currently working on house training and is doing well when kept on a consistent schedule. He doesn't currently alert when he needs to go out, so a routine and a watchful eye will help him continue to succeed. He is also calm and comfortable in an x-pen, or small room gated-off when not supervised, which would be recommended as he transitions to his forever home. He is crate-trained for short periods in the home and also rides very well in one in the car. In a calmer, patient home with love, routine, and another pup, Dawson will truly thrive and continue growing into the confident and happy dog he deserves to be! Adoption fee: $795

Story
Meet Freckles 🐾 Freckles is an adorable little lady who looks like a King Charles Spaniel mix with a hint of Beagle — complete with soulful eyes and the sweetest expression. She’s a medium-energy girl who loves long walks where she can explore the world at her own pace. She loves to smell everything. Freckles is very sweet, affectionate, and once she feels safe. She can be nervous in new environments and is easily startled by loud noises, so she’ll do best in a calm, quiet home. She may seem shy at first, and scared of everything but she needs time to adjust. Once she is comfortable she likes being around her humans but also enjoys her own space, she may disappear into a bedroom to nap or you may find her in a sunbeam somewhere peaceful. She is potty trained. Like many dogs adjusting to a new space, she may mark once on the first day indoors, but after settling in, she reliably goes outside. She eats well and enjoys her kibble softened with a little broth or wet food. After a good walk or some playtime, Freckles is a champion napper — she absolutely loves to snooze the day away and can be trusted around the home alone. She enjoys playing with soft toys and squeaky toys. One of her cutest quirks? She “smiles” by showing her teeth when she’s excited — it’s her happy grin, not aggression! On walks, Freckles prefers her personal space. She can be a little dog-reactive and does not like greeting other dogs while out walking. She may bark and pull at the leash and will need slow, structured introductions to any dogs in the home or neighborhood. Because of this, she would do best with a patient adopter who understands dog reactivity and is willing to take introductions slowly and thoughtfully. She is better with larger dogs; she seems to be more reactive to smaller dogs. Freckles does not like kennels and feels safest when she has free roam in a calm home environment. She has had some medical work done while in rescue: Her Cherry eye has been fixed and she has had 9 teeth removed.

These pups are in Minneapolis, Minnesota too!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Lady is an 18&#226&#128&#145pound Cocker Spaniel sweetheart who believes her true calling in life is to be your personal shadow, couch companion, and professional snuggle consultant. She’s friendly and outgoing at home, and while she may start off a little cautious in new places, she warms up quickly—especially if treats are involved. She is extremely food motivated and will happily demonstrate her “sit,” “come,” “shake,” and “outside” skills in exchange for snacks. She’s partially blind in her right eye, which gives her a bit of mysterious pirate&#226&#128&#145princess energy, and may explain why she’s not a fan of chaotic environments or overly enthusiastic dogs. Big, bouncy dogs? Hard pass. Bossy little female dogs? Also no thank you. Calm senior pups? Absolutely—she’ll happily share space with the chill crowd. Lady came to us with 30% vision in her right eye due to juvenile cataracts because of this she will be more prone to glaucoma in that eye and will need annual eye check ups. Lady loves small squeaky toys, stuffies, and anything that makes noise when she pounces on it. She’s slightly active with a moderate energy level, meaning she’s always up for a walk, a car ride, or running errands, but she’s equally thrilled to curl up next to you and soak up all the affection you’re willing to give. She’s a world&#226&#128&#145class snuggler and will happily join you on the couch or in a chair, molding herself into whatever shape is required for maximum coziness. She’s potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, and prefers a fenced yard because she’s not consistent about going potty on leash. She can be a bit barky in the crate at first, but she settles with time. She’s good with cats, good with adults, and likely best with older or considerate kids who understand her gentle, slightly nervous nature. Lady is a happy, goofy, affectionate little love bug who just wants to be with her people. She’ll make you smile with her antics, warm your lap with her snuggles, and brighten your days with her sweet, soulful presence. Age:1 Year Old Weight: 27 pounds Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Unknown Potty trained: 90%-needs prompting occasionally Crate trained: Yes Sweet and Shy Tavis is Looking for His Forever Home! Tavis is a gentle, affectionate boy who loves his people and does well with other dogs and even cats. He enjoys exploring alongside a canine companion but can be hesitant on his own. Sensitive and thoughtful, Tavis thrives in calm, predictable environments. While not aggressive, busy or chaotic settings can feel overwhelming for him. Once he feels safe, his loyal and loving personality shines. Tavis has done well with resident and foster dogs when introductions are slow and structured. He can be an only dog in the right home; however, without a canine companion, he will need a home where he is not left alone for a full workday. He does best with routine, reassurance, and regular human presence. Because of his sensitivity, Tavis is not a good candidate for dog parks or unstructured group play. He prefers calm, controlled interactions and thoughtful introductions. A fenced yard is strongly preferred, and apartment living or very busy households may be challenging for him. Tavis is most comfortable in quieter environments where he can relax and feel secure. Tavis is seeking a patient, understanding home that will allow him to settle in at his own pace. In the right environment, he will be a loyal and deeply rewarding companion. *Tavis Eligible for a Trial Contract! Adoption Fee: $595

Story
Age: 7 years old Weight: 40 lbs. Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: unknown but likely fine Kid friendly: calmer & older kids ok Potty trained: yes Crate trained: no Patch is a sweet senior Cocker Spaniel who may have had a rough start in life, but he’s more than ready to spend his golden years exactly where he belongs — cuddled up on a cozy couch next to his favorite person. This handsome boy loves a good routine. His ideal morning? A quick potty break in the yard followed by a short walk to sniff the world and maybe chase a few leaves (one of his favorite hobbies!). Patch is living in a home for the very first time, and he’s doing an amazing job learning the ropes. He hasn’t had accidents and thrives on a consistent schedule. He’s still figuring out how to tell his people when he needs to go out, but with structure, he does great. Patch absolutely loves toys and enrichment activities — they make his little heart so happy! Because of that, he can be a bit protective of his treasures. He would do best in a home with older children or adults who understand how to respect his toys and personal space. Patch is a sensitive, anxious soul who bonds deeply with his people. He would thrive in a home with another calm dog companion or with someone who is home most of the time and can offer him the companionship he craves. He can be left alone for short periods, and with patience, he may be able to build up to longer stretches over time. This snuggle bug loves bedtime as much as playtime — he sleeps with his foster in bed, or sometimes in his dog bed right next to the human bed if he gets warm. He is not crate trained and shows signs of past trauma or strong discomfort with crates. One is always available for him if needed, but he prefers to sleep and relax freely. When he’s excited, Patch wiggles his whole butt and does the cutest little happy dance just for you. He loves pets, attention, and being close — truly happiest right next to his person on the couch. Patch is curious about car rides and new adventures. He’s still a little nervous in the car but is excited about the idea of exploring new places with someone he trusts. Adoption fee: $595
