Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is a courtesy posting. Please call 410-627-6563 for information on fostering or adopting Truman. At 12 pounds and 1 1/2 years old this sweet boy is in need of a soft place to land. Poor little Truman was found running scared through the streets of Baltimore City trying to survive. Kids were throwing cans and bricks at him. Although he is improving in his loving foster home, his previous life has left him somewhat fearful and he will require someone with previous dog experience and a lot of patience. He gains comfort from other dogs and will need a dog companion in his new home as well as a physically fenced yard. Can anyone help this little survivor?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 15, 2026, 10:59 am

Story
Meet Billie Bear! This sweet girl truly could not be a more perfect pup. Billie ended up in the shelter system when her family could no longer care for her. She made her way to us, and her personality began to shine the minute we started addressing her medical needs. Billie moves through her foster home with confidence, quiet and easy in a way that makes everything feel calmer. Billie's favorite thing in life is being with her people. She loves riding in the car and going on an adventure. Even if she doesn't know where she's going, she's thrilled to be tagging along. She also loves going for walks, snuggling up with her person, and greeting them like a long lost friend every time they come home. She is housetrained, leash-trained, and sleeps peacfully through the night. She doesn't mind staying home while her people are out. Billie doesn’t bark and she’s even wonderfully tolerant of grooming. We told you she is perfect! Every now and then she’ll get the zoomies, soft little bursts of joy that come and go as quickly as they start. Most of the time, she’s happiest just being nearby. Not glued to you, not asking for constant attention - just keeping you company in that steady, peaceful way that’s hard to put into words but easy to love. Billie is on a weight loss journey and gets excited for meals (she's on a urinary diet), but she waits so politely without any hooting or hollering ~ just a hopeful little presence who knows her turn is coming. Her adopter will need to be dedicated to helping her reach and maintain a healthy weight. Billie is looking for a forever family who loves being with her as much as she loves being with them. She is the definition of adjustable and resilient and would fit beautifully into any household. She's the kind of dog who could walk into almost any home and quietly make it better. If you're up for outings, lots of walks, and lots of love, Billie has been waiting for you. Apply today to meet her! Billie is approx 12 years old and 15 lbs. Fostered in Woodbridge, VA Please apply at MirisHaven.org

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Tensley and Teddy are a bonded pair who share a special connection and must be adopted together. They are incredibly sweet, affectionate dogs who love attention and being close to their people. Friendly and easygoing, they get along well with other dogs and are also cat friendly. Their forever home will need a securely fenced yard where they can safely enjoy time together. REQUIRES- Fenced YardVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hello, my name is Kennedy. My owner asked CSAC to help find me a new home. My former owner had a very active lifestyle, but I want to stay home and live the quiet life. My quiet life should include no kids or other pets. I am house trained and crate trained. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished family pet again. Hope to see you soon. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen. My name is Blue, and I just arrived at CSAC from a shelter. The best home for me has people who have dog experience. I need a calm home with a fenced yard so I can run and play. I like riding in a car, but I am not fond of meeting other dogs when on a leash. I get scared and over react. I am not good at meeting strangers so I need an owner who can make the best decisions for me when people come to visit. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. My owner was moving and could not take me with her so she asked CSAC to help find me a new home. I am a special needs dog. I will walk and run in circles. The best guess is that I was born this way. If I am really focusing on something, I can walk in a straight line. When I am anxious or excited, I will circle. I have glaucoma. My right eye had to be removed, and I get drops in my left eye. I am house trained and crate trained. I have lived with cats but not other dogs. I love to play with toys, swim and explore. I should be in a home with a fenced in yard because I could trip up people with a leash. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished family pet again. Hope to see you soon.
