Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Downstream is a very handsome breeder release boy. He is a bit timid when meeting new people but once he trusts you, he wants nothing more than to be by your side or in your lap. He definitely loves his foster mom and has no problem clearing a 2.5-foot baby gate to follow her upstairs. He is more timid around men versus women.  Downstream loves soft, cozy blankets and hanging out on the elevated dog beds. He hasn't shown much interest in toys yet but loves his food.  He is still working on his housetraining but doing well.  ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Physically fenced in yard to keep him safe. Confident resident dog to help Downstream build confidence and continue to learn what being a dog is all about. Family with older, dog savvy kids only. Downstream has been neutered and tested negative for heartworm and tick-borne illness. He is current on vaccinations (rabies, distemper/lepto, and bordetella) & monthly preventatives, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $500 plus tax.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped. Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received minimal socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. January 24, 2025, 8:48 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Dani! Dani is a 18-pound Cavalier with a gentle soul and a whole lot of potential. With patience, love, and a calm home, Dani will continue to grow into the loving companion she was always meant to be. This sweet girl is ready to find her special person who will show her the world isn't so scary after all. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ruby is a super sweet cavalier who came to SFCR as a breeder release. She is loving life in foster care and learning all about what a dog's life should be.  Ruby does have a grade III heart murmur. Chest x-rays and an echocardiogram did not show any signs of heart enlargement or disease progression and heart medications are not needed at this time. This is something that will need to be monitored with x-rays and/or an echocardiogram every 6 months or so.  Ruby mingles very well with other dogs in her foster home and seems to really enjoy their company. She is working hard on her housetraining.    ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Physically fenced in yard to keep her safe - no invisible fences. Financially stable family willing and able to keep up with Ruby's cardio care. Ruby would be happiest in a home with a canine companion. Ruby has been spayed and also had a much needed dental with a total of 15 extractions. She tested negative for heartworm & tick-borne disease, is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400 plus tax. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Jenny is a darling cavalier who came to SFCR after being released/retired from a commercial breeding program. A note from her foster mom: Jenny is the sweetest girl! She was very scared and unsure when she first arrived at our home. She now roams the house comfortably and comes to us for pets. She even likes to sit on our lap during a movie. Jenny does like her kennel. It is her safe space. She sleeps in it at night with the door open, but that is where she wants to sleep. She LOVES toys! We call her our toy hoarder. She will sneak away toys and place them in her kennel. She loves to go after a ball. She will chase them and pick them up, but then right to her kennel they go! She would likely do best with other dogs that are not possessive/aggressive about toys.  She is potty trained and has only had one accident. She loves to be outside and wants to be wherever her foster family is. She mingles well with all of her canine foster siblings. Jenny would do well with older, respectful children and she would ideally have another confident dog to help teach her the ropes in her forever home. The other dogs help so much with her confidence.    ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Physically fenced in yard to keep her safe - no invisible fences. Leash walking is still a work in progress. Confident resident dog. Jenny has been spayed and also had a dental. She tested negative for heartworm & tick-borne disease, is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, and microchipped.
