Story
Meet Tito! Tito is a shy seven year old male King Charles Cavalier who weighs 16 pounds.
Tito recently came into rescue after being used for breeding at a puppy mill, hence his shyness. Humans have let him down, so he needs a patient forever family who can work on building his trust and showing him how good life can be! That being said, Tito loves to eat and gets excited about treats, so we think that earning his trust won't take very long.
An interested adopter will have to have patience and determination to guide Tito to a place of trust. Tito will sit on the couch with his foster mom, but won't come willingly just yet. However, with time and patience, we know this cutie will come out of his shell!
Tito’s favorite activity is to roam the yard with his foster siblings-- all six of them (including the ones over 100 pounds)! He loves other dogs, and we think an adoptive family who already has a dog or two would help him to build his confidence. He has been introduced to children who respect his need for patience, and has done well with them. Tito seems to be housebroken as long as he is let out every few hours, and has not had an accident in his foster home. He likes to hang out in his crate and sleeps over night with no issue.
Having the patience to acclimate Tito into a trusting soul will be a delight when you see how he will eventually respond to love. If you are interested in meeting Tito, apply today!
Tito is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. His adoption fee is $450.
Tito is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
