Story
Auggie is a sweet, cuddly, energetic, 5 year old boy! We absolutely adore him and he loves his people. He is house trained and crate trained. Auggie is a pure bred Cavalier Spaniel and has the cutest freckles on his nose! He loves running around in the yard, eating cucumbers and snuggling on anyone’s lap that sits still long enough for him to climb into. He is a BIG cuddler! I have had him since he was 16 weeks old and hate giving him up, but with our family schedule he spends most of his days in his kennel which breaks my heart. He needs a loving home with a family that can be there during the day and give him the love and attention he deserves. We do live in the country, so he could use some help learning not to bark (he has a vibrating collar that helps, but I have not trained him much with barking). He is incredibly food motivated and will learn whatever you teach him quickly. I think he would make the perfect family pet for a young family as he loves kids.

Story
Whenever a sweet and lovable dog gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers like to help. While they may very well be initially shy, once comfortable in their environment, they truly blossom. Tessa, with a bit of patience, will become a loving and devoted family member that will share 100% of her heart with her favorite people. Once acclimated to her new home, she will develop into a wonderful family companion. Tessa is believed to be a Cavalier Spaniel / Pomeranian mix. Whatever is in her, she sure is gorgeous! Tessa is such a great age and size. At between 2 and 3 years old, she's young enough to be a blank slate open to new and wonderful possibilities in her life, yet old enough to have left her babyish behaviors behind. Tessa weighs 19 lbs... the perfect size to accompany her family everywhere a sweet and well-behaved smaller dog is welcome. From Tessa's foster: "This girl is so sweet! She was relinquished to the shelter by her owner who was a truck driver and thought it was too much work to bring her on the road with them. She is pretty confused, which is normal since she just lost her home! But with some chicken, she became my best friend very fast. She is more timid / skeptical of men. She has started to warm up to my husband, but initially she is more comfortable with women." We're seeking a family for our lovable Tessa that spends lots of time at home enjoying this beautiful girl's company. A retired couple or individual will be perfect for Tessa as that age group tends to spend lots of quality time with their dog. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be an excellent choice for this devoted best friend. Tessa is too sensitive a pup to be happy with a family that spends the long hours of full time employment working outside of the home. Rescue dogs are often initially a bit shy but put them into a home with a caring family that provides frequent socialization, nurturing, love and lots of belly rubs, and they will shine. Tessa is one of these pups. She's a blank slate just waiting for the commitment of a great family. Her love will know no bounds as she becomes a best friend and devoted companion Tessa is lucky enough to have inherited the great personality traits of both the Terrier and Papillon breeds. She is so excited and attentive as her people teach her the wonders of her world. If Tessa is treated kindly and given tons of love and socialization, she will grow into a self-confident girl who will be comfortable with both other dogs and humans. Tessa has all the elements working in her favor since she's starting out with a great temperament, a love of life and a puppyish desire to please. Farfel's Rescue would like to see Tessa in a home where she'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of loving hugs. A virtual or in-person positive reinforcement / force free training class promotes great behavior and builds confidence in a dog who is learning about her world. These classes are so important in teaching pups their skills and in the bonding process with their family that Farfel's is unwilling to adopt Tessa out to a family that doesn't choose this loving training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both virtual and in-person positive reinforcement/force-free trainers in in your area. Tessa will love the trails and neighborhood paths of Colorado. She's the perfect size to enjoy walks and socialization with neighbors and friends. Window shopping would also be great fun for Tessa to fine-tune her urban skills and provide the socializing that is so important in the development of a dog's relationships. With feelings of security within the family, Tessa will also learn the skills of being alone and knowing that her family will aways return. Tessa has a gorgeous, cottony-soft coat that is currently shelter-sad. She will therefore require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and excellent nutrition to keep her stunning coat shining and matte-free. Tessa has been fully vetted and vaccinated to fulfill Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. She has also been spayed to support our commitment to a future that is euthanasia - free in the canine population. Tessa is available for adoption now! Applications are currently being accepted for this very loving and sweet as can be best friend and can be found at https://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested in this cuddly companion, please fill our application out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE ** If you're truly interested in adopting Tessa, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
