Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. The call was put out for the need from several commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of Omaha. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. These innocent souls lives was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. They were one of the very lucky ones. On this day we rescued a total of 24 lives including Ivy & her siblings. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Ivy how she is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as they are in their foster home. Ivy, her siblings & her friends were bought back to the WA state where she is now is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. Ivy is the biggest sweetheart you will ever meet. She is an absolute doll. She is full of life love & energy & is up for any adventure that comes her way. She is extremely sweet but is very loving & a very cuddly little lady. We know she adores being picked up & held & carried around to see what is going on. She adores being kissed & hugged & is good with an outfit. She is still a baby & can get into puppy mischief. But she is a normal typical puppy. Ivy & her brother were adopted together but returned for not being potty trained & barking when the neighbors would walk past the home. We still have not heard her bark at all & she has been a sheer joy with us & nothing but a fun spirited girl. Ivy & Apple Pie are very quick learners listen when you teach them. The reality is, the foster homes are her real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding she can snuggle up in, a roof over her head that’s not outside. Ivy is a wonderful eater & is not shy about eating & has not been since the day we got her & rescued her. She adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something she did not get to experience ever until she was rescued. She currently sleeps with some of the other babies we rescued along with her. We have tested her in a daycare environment with countless other dogs & she does well. She is such a fun puppy who just wants to be loved & to make up for her past. She loves everyone & is so very sweet. She plays with her rescue puppy friends who we rescued with her but then can do her own thing. She is wonderful with being bathed & groomed & good with the hairdryer. She would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash. She is a puppy & we have not taken her out anywhere. She still needs to learn her puppy manners. Ivy rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when she went to be sold & when we got her & going home & to & from the vets with us. But she does absolutely amazing in the car. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Ivy as you can imagine spent the first part of his life in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Ivy where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. Ivy is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her & never give up on her. Ivy has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & she is currently with other dogs & adores other dogs. She absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home for her to thrive in. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take her to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard. Ivy is roughly 15 lbs & she is 9 months old & ‭a Cavachon possibly‬. She has put on weight since being in the rescue. What she is mixed with we are not sure, female, she will be spayed by laser by our wonderful vets, she is microchipped, up to date on her shots, including DHLPP, bordatella, rabies & dewormed & is spayed by laser. We have spent far more on Ivy with paying for her from a commercial breeder. Bringing her to WA with her travel costs, her transportation to WA. All of her medical care in WA & Omaha etc & bringing her to WA then her adoption fee comes close to covering. Ivy has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have had her around small children & she has done amazing but we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Ivy was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Ivy’s friends & siblings she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Ivy potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Ivy & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Ivy who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for the special sweet little Ivy. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Ivy has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.

As per usual it seems these days that the call was put out for the need from commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of Omaha. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. But despite where they lived & were going to be used to make money off their backs, they are always the most precious bundles of joy. Pumpkin spice’s life was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. He was one of the very lucky ones. On this day we rescued a total of 24 lives including Pumpkin spice. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Pumpkin spice how he is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as he is in our beloved rescue. Pumpkin spice, his siblings & his friends & were bought back to the WA state where he is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. This boy is such a sweetheart & his foster mum said he doesn't seem like a puppy at all- little too dignified. My father has accepted the lead cuddler position. As you can see from his pictures it’s spot on. Very sweet Pumpkin spice, wants you to pick him up & receive love. This boy is very accepting of pretty much anything that comes his way & is quite carefree & will go with the flow. He does have his bursts of energy with running & playing in the yard in his wonderful foster home but then also can be very calm & take the world in around him. He is a very gentle soul with such a happy go lucky personality. The reality is, the foster homes are his real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding he can snuggle up in, a roof over his head that’s not outside. We have tested Pumpkin spice in a daycare & he has done wonderful in the daycare environment. He is wonderful with his baths, being dried by the hairdryer & getting groomed. Pumpkin spice is a wonderful eater & is not shy about eating & has not been since the day we got him. He eats clean diet of raw proteins, fruits, vegetables, grains & supplements. He loves treats along with bulky sticks & collagen sticks. He adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something he did not get to experience ever until he was rescued. He will also want to sleep in bed with you or with his dog friends snuggled up. He would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash. Update: The beautiful Pumpkin Spice was adopted for less than 24 hours & the family had some dire situation with their adult daughter & felt they needed to give her all their time & could not give Pumpkin Spice the attention he deserves. He did absolutely nothing wrong & they do not want to give him back but their daughter needs all their time. Pumpkin spice rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when he went to be sold & when we got him & going to & from the vets originally but now we have taken him on so many car rides he loves a good car ride. When in the car it looks as though he is smiling. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lad only. Pumpkin spice as you can imagine spent the first part of his life in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Pumpkin spice where someone is home during the day or he can go with her people wherever possibly he can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. Pumpkin spice has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & he is currently with other dogs & adores other dogs. He must have a fully fenced backyard if you have a free standing home. Pumpkin spice is roughly 16.2 lbs & he is 8 months old & ‭possibly a cavachon‬. He has put on weight since being in the rescue. What he is mixed with we are not sure, male, he is neutered by laser by our wonderful vets, he is microchipped, up to date on his shots, including DHLPP, rabies & dewormed & as a preventative treated for giardia. He had hernia & we did a hernia surgery on this to repair it. He also had a skin infection & healing from that & only has a little bit left on the tips of his ears. We have spent far more on Pumpkin spice with paying for him from a commercial breeder. Bringing him to WA with his travel/flight costs, his transportation to WA. All of his medical care in Omaha & WA etc & bringing him to WA then his adoption fee comes close to covering. His adoption fee does not even cover half of what we have spent on this little lad. Pumpkin spice has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not him around small children so we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. He can be found laying on top off his foster siblings his foster family said. Once you have built that rapport with him you are good with him. He is extremely food motivated they said.
