Story
This dog is a courtesy listing and not one of our dogs. Please contact the email listed in this post. For more information about Draco, please contact: Mandi at 513-259-5305 or Kevin at 865-368-8905 Meet Draco: With a very heavy heart, we are looking to rehome our 5 y/o male GS. He is such a good boy but is not adapting well in a new home with children.  He has extensive behavioral training and is e-collar trained. He is a curious, outgoing, silly, and loveable boy. He loves his stuffed animals and makes it his mission to hunt down and eliminate their squeakers. Fetch of any sort; frisbees, balls, sticks - he would win a gold medal. He is overly curious when he spots a rabbit or squirrel. He is fully house trained but talks back when created or secluded in any way. Draco seems to do well with other animals. He does not like motorcycles, or seeing other animals on the television. He also does not like his paws touched or sudden movements. He loves to be outdoors and to go on walks or hikes, but the car ride to and from can cause a bit of anxiety, via excessive whining.   He needs a home without kids where he will continue to be well spoiled and stimulated. With someone who is knowledgeable and well equipped to handle the GS breed. He needs a yard to run in and to be given tasks. I have no doubt he will thrive in the right environment.   April 15, 2026, 10:24 pm

Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Chili #1 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails).   Chili | 8-year-old Collie/German Shepherd mix | Gentle soul with a soft spot for chin scratches Chili is a sweet, mature lady who’s ready to settle into a calm, loving home where she can truly relax and be herself. At 8 years old, this Collie/German Shepherd mix brings a lovely balance of medium energy and laid-back companionship—she enjoys leisurely walks with plenty of time to sniff, a good car ride, and then curling up nearby for some quiet time. She’s house trained with a consistent routine, sleeps well through the night, and has done just fine when left home alone for short periods, especially with another dog around. Chili is also highly food motivated, knows “wait,” and responds well to gentle structure and boundaries. While she’s still getting the hang of leash walking, Chili is making great progress and seems to enjoy taking in the world at her own pace. She currently lives with a larger dog and does well overall, though she can be a bit selective with other dogs—sometimes curious, sometimes unsure—so slow introductions are important. She has shown some resource guarding with favorite spots and toys, and can be a little protective of her space, so a home that understands and respects her boundaries will help her continue to feel secure. Because of this, she may do best as the only dog or with a similarly sized, easygoing companion. Chili can be shy and occasionally startled by sudden movement, but she is incredibly sweet with the people she trusts and absolutely melts for gentle ear rubs and chin scratches. She enjoys being brushed, prefers crunchy treats, and has a quiet, observant nature—unless, of course, there’s a squirrel or rabbit to keep an eye on. Her ideal home is a quieter environment with patient adopters who will give her time to adjust and continue building her confidence. While her past is unknown, she does have some dental disease that will need attention, and ongoing care will help keep her feeling her best. For someone looking for a loyal, low-key companion with a tender heart, Chili could be the perfect match.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Sally #4 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Sally #4 | 7 years | German Shepherd mix with a soft side Sally is a 7-year-old German Shepherd mix weighing about 65 pounds with beautiful brown-and-black coloring and a heart that truly loves her people. She is affectionate, sweet, and enjoys being close to her humans—belly rubs are a favorite, and she is always happy to curl up for cuddles once she feels comfortable. While she can be a bit shy and nervous at first, she warms up with patience and consistency and shows a loyal, protective side to those she trusts. Sally is fully house trained and uses a doggie door. She is comfortable being left alone for 6–8 hours with other dogs in the house and will settle after some initial barking at outside noises, which is easily redirected with commands. Crate training is going great—she goes in willingly, sleeps through the night, and often chooses her kennel for daytime naps. She knows several basic commands, including come, sit, stay, no, and wait, and responds well to structure and clear boundaries. On leash, Sally may bark or react when she sees other dogs or wheeled objects, though she is easily redirected. She enjoys walks overall, as well as car rides, toys, chewing bones, and playing with her stuffies. Around other dogs, she does best with dogs her own size and has successfully bonded with a same-size dog in her foster home with slow introduction.  Sally has not yet been tested with cats or children. She has no preference for men or women and truly loves people. Her energy level falls between medium and high—she enjoys daily activity and playtime but is also able to relax and settle when it is time to unwind. Her ideal home is a patient, active family with strong leadership who will give her time to build trust and confidence. Sally would thrive in a stable, loving home committed to helping her feel safe and secure for the long term.     If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth.
