Claire Bear, an Anatolian Shepherd mix, was adopted from the Hopalong Program 6.5 years ago as a puppy, and has recently returned to us after her family had to relocate to care for their grandmother, and the complex does not allow dogs. The family is devastated as they absolutely adore her, and her mom shared that "she has been the best dog she has ever had."Claire Bear is quite the big girl at 120 pounds, and is a healthy, gentle giant who loves family activities, swimming at the beach, going for walks and playing with other dogs (whether they are large or quite small). She loves balls and carrying her stuffies around with her. Her best friend was her cat brother whom she adored and slept with, and the two of them have been partners in crime and loved to sneak up on the couch together and cozy up when their mom was at work. She has been with her family since she was 12 weeks old, is well trained and has a beautiful and happy personality. She is not a farm, outdoor or guard dog; she loved being with her people (which also included a child) and other animals. She loves the dog park, meeting dogs on walks and driving to Peet's to get a pup cup.If you or anyone you know is a big dog lover and is looking for a peach to join their household, please share this post. She is one of the easiest dogs we have ever rehomed which we don't say very often. She is currently being fostered in the East Bay at Happy Hound. Story
Lulu We rescued our sweet Lulu almost 3 years ago from SFPCA. She currently lives in Novato with my husband and our 1 year old. Lulu has a long list of amazing qualities and has tons of training. She is extremely affectionate and literally melts when she gets a pet, especially paired with a leg rub. While she loves fetch and swimming, she is also just as content to lay underneath our chair while we work, read, watch tv ect. She has no separation anxiety and does great when left alone with a kong and some peanut butter. She knows the “place” command well and doesn’t touch any toy/item that isn’t hers. Lulu has a select group of dog friends and needs slow introductions to new people. However after a day or 2, she will welcome you into her circle forever. She if fiercely loyal and that is one of the reasons why writing this post is extra hard. We love our fur baby so much but Lulu is fearful of our toddler and after training, conditioning, ect, its been determined that she just isn’t in
