Story
True to their namesakes, this pair of cute young ladies (Thelma & Louise) must have been on an adventure when they were found on Gilman Avenue in Marietta Ohio on the afternoon of October 19th 2024. Fortunately for them, a Good Samaritan picked the girls up and brought them to the HSOV so that they would safe from harm's way (a high volume of traffic on a Saturday afternoon). These lovely girls are estimated to be 8-months old. We believe that they could be Catahoula Leopard Dog/Beagle mixes. Thelma (pictured on the left) has a distinctive multi-colored brown/beige/white coat and a beautiful face with pale blue eyes. Thelma weighs 26 lbs. Louise (pictured on the right) has a black/brown/beige/cream coat and an adorable face with sky blue eyes. Louise weighs 26.2 lbs. Thelma and Louise have affectionate, fun-loving personalities. Thanks to HSOV Kennel Techs Emily Beaver and Lauryn Hamilton for accompanying them for photos soon after their arrival. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Thelma & Louise will be held for three days so that their family will have an opportunity to reclaim them with proof of ownership. We will post additional individual photos in the next day or so but wanted to share preliminary pictures in hopes that someone will recognize Thelma & Louise and help them find their way home. Thelma and Louise went home with a foster family on October 26, 2024 who planned to adopt them after they were spayed ... But changed their mind and the girls were returned to HSOV on October 30th. Thelma and Louise were higher energy than anticipated and exhibited usual puppy behavior (chewing and were not yet housetrained).

Story
Thelma is a cute 8-month old female (possible) Catahoula Leopard Dog/Beagle mix who was brought to the HSOV on October 19, 2024 along with her best friend/sister (Louise) after they were found on Gilman Avenue in Marietta Ohio. Neither of the girls were wearing a collar. True to their namesakes, this lovely pair must have been on an adventure, so we were relieved that a Good Samaritan brought them to the safely of our shelter and that they out of harm's way since there is always a high volume of traffic in Marietta on a Saturday afternoon. Thelma has a distinctive multi-colored brown/beige/white coat and a beautiful face with pale blue eyes, a long slender muzzle, and large floppy ears. Thelma and Louise have affectionate, fun-loving personalities. Thanks to HSOV Kennel Techs Emily Beaver and Lauryn Hamilton for accompanying them for photos soon after their arrival. Thelma weighs 26 lbs. She doesn't appear to have been accustomed to walking on a leash, so HSOV Kennel Tech Lauryn Hamilton provided 'carry-out' service. With a little encouragement from Lauryn, Thelma made a noble effort and walked back into the shelter fairly well on a leash. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Thelma & Louise were held for three days so that their family will have an opportunity to reclaim them with proof of ownership. Surprisingly nobody called or came looking for these beautiful older puppies.

Louise weighs 26.2 lbs. She was a little unsure about walking on a leash, but within a few minutes she was doing very well thanks to some 'on-the-scene' training from Emily. These girls wanted to be as close to each other as possible during their photo session, and they are currently sharing a small room just off the shelter lobby. They would love to find a home together. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Louise and Thelma were held for three days so that their family will have an opportunity to reclaim them with proof of ownership.
