Story
Sadie is an extremely loving 50lb catahoula/Pit mix female who was born on October 7, 2021. What a beauty she is and one with great manners.  She is fully potty trained and crate trained, spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Sadie comes from a neglect situation and is eager to make up for all the cuddles and play time she didn’t receive growing up in her former home. She has an extremely resilient personality and an eager to please temperament. She sincerely craves human interaction and will follow you around the house to be a part of everything you’re doing. When hugged, she likes to hug back by tucking her head around you and pressing in. She cooperates very well for bath time and settles well on car rides. Sadie behaves nicely in public spaces and happily accepts belly rubs from strangers. She has very limited experience around children but is happy to meet everyone she comes across. She is not recommended to homes with very young children simply for the concern of potential knocking them down. She has learned to sit when she wants to be pet, but may occasionally jump up if overly excited. Sadie must go to a home without other pets due to resource guarding around dogs (this does not apply to humans, she is submissive toward humans) and prey drive toward cats.  Her energy level is medium-high. She loves playing fetch to burn off energy, and would probably run for hours if given the opportunity, but she can also settle calmly on those days when it’s stormy or you’re too busy for intensive exercise. She likes to entertain herself with her toys, and is particularly fond of carrying the stuffed toys around to show them off. Our pets are fostered and physically located in Mt.Airy,NC. We are 5 & 1/2 hrs west if VA, Beach. We encourage you to come to us to pick up. Transport to the area has been put on hold due to vehicle issues. Normally we offer halfway transport for $100 or to your door for $200. This pup is a Catahoula mix. This pup was born 10-20-22. This pup will not be overly large. My educated guess is around 35-40 pounds at maturity. This pup is shy but warms up. This pup is great with other dogs and cats. We have started crate training and potty training. I will consider a reduced adoption fee to the right home! This pup will be current on vaccines, deworming, preventives. This pup will be micro-chipped. This pup is spayed! This pup will receive a physical and a certificate of health prior to going home. The adopter will get all the health records with adoption. Frances is spayed! We require a prescreen application to adopt. You can get that on our website at www.saveamuttkennel.net

Story
Theo’s a 55lb Catahula from Tennessee he’s neutered, and very affectionate. Loves chews, dental treats, and stuffed toys. Not really into balls and frisbees. He’s microchipped, registered and up to date on shots. He’s been trained to run alongside a bike. Waits to eat, “free” is his release word. Crate trained, house trained, not destructive. Knows commands; come, sit, wait, lay, shake, roll over. We spent a significant amount of time taking him to training classes in his first year. Can walk on loose leash with treats and reminders. VERY food motivated, trainable, vocal, agile and smart. Skittish/ nervous at times. Does great around adults and kids over 5, occasionally jumps up to say hi. Very nervous with toddlers, but not aggressive. Ideally, Theo would find a farm, or large property where he can run. He has a ton of energy and does well around our 11 year old son and loves snuggles with anyone. Homes with young children would not be ideal because they make him nervous.
