Story
Beautiful Billy is one of a kind.  Think dog/acrobat.  He loves scratches just above the base of his tail. He is weirdly flexible and sleeps in all kinds of weird positions (see pics). His bark is more similar to a bloodhound's bay, and he sometimes howls if he hears another dog or sirens. He truly loves all dogs he meets even if they aren't a fan of his. He loves lounging in the sun on a warm day and chasing a ball around the yard. He is cuddly and loving and isn't quite sure of his size when he climbs into your lap (or maybe he is).   Here's how to adopt me: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. APPLY HERE: www.richardsonhumanesociety.org ##1994769##

Story
Hello. My name is Colt. I am a 4-month-old Catahoula mix male who weighs around 29 Lbs. I was originally found abandoned in a storm drain off of Cornelius in Rockwall. Unfortunately, my finder was unable to keep me and decided to surrender to the shelter in hopes that I will be able to find a fur-ever home! I am a sweet boy who is at an age where I can easily learn and acclimate to any family. I love to run and play and am a very social guy with people and other dogs. Since I am so young, basic training, socialization and house training are a must! That way I will grow up to be the perfect family companion. My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination, 1st round of puppy boosters and 1st dewormer.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. November 6, 2024, 7:31 pm

Story
Hi! I'm Roxi! I'm an approximately 5 year old, female, Catahoula mix, who weighs around 66 Lbs. I was surrendered by my owners on 09/17/2024 because they were moving and could not take me. I am very excited to meet new people! I get a little jumpy when I'm excited but I am working on that. I love belly rubs and a good back scratch. Tennis balls are my favorite thing...and food, food is also my favorite thing. I do best with dogs my size or bigger and do not like cats. I love kids! If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure we get along. I am looking for a home who has time to train me to be the best family companion I can be! My adoption fee is $125. I am spayed, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination, basic boosters, and heartworm negative. Story
Cena is part of a litter of 14 puppies.  Sadly their mama was abandoned and gave birth in front of a local business. A kind citizen took them in and took very good care of them to prepare them for their new homes. Cena is a super sweet boy who gets along with everyone he meets. He is a fast learner and very eager to please.  ##2184751##

Story
Cleopatra needs a new home through no fault of her own. She is such a sweet girl, 3 yr old Catahoula mix, spayed and utd on shots, house trained and crate trained. She may take a little bit to get used to her new family, but once she does she is so loving and loyal. She’s a great guard dog, and she’s AMAZING with babies and children! She is very high energy, so she needs an active family or a lot of space to run. Cleo would do best in a house with no small animals, and she needs to be the only dog. She will come with vet records and all her stuff. Transport can be provided for up to several hours from DFW. Guest post--Rehoming fee determined by owner.

Story
Mamma Mia! What beautiful blue eyes you have! I am a young lady who has retired from being a mama. My last litter of puppies were the "Starbucks Litter" and they all got good safe homes. Now I need to find a home! The nice man who has been helping me and feeding me is being evicted from his home and cannot take me with him. I am very sad about this but I am ready to go to a new home. I am very affectionate and obedient and I love to learn new things. I am heartworm positive though but I think I can overcome that with help too. Will you be my new parent?
