Story
COURTESY POST: Hello everyone! My name is Annie (short for Anakin)! I’m a super happy, upbeat, loving, 60-pound, approximately 2 year old female Catahoula Leopard Dog Mix. I’m an amazing dog that LOVES kids, other dogs and spending time with people. I’m very strong and may look intimidating, but I just want a belly rub, time playing with my toys and taking naps in your lap. My favorite games are Tug-of-War and Hide & Go Seek. I love playing Hide & Go Seek because when I find you, I’m truly thrilled and I can cover you with slobbery kisses. Afterwards, we can play again! Also, one of my favorite pastimes is to jump on the trampoline with my person. I love to have fun with everyone! Some important details about my health: I have all my shots, I’m spayed and I’m in good health. Furthermore, I am potty-trained, crate-trained and very food-motivated! Unfortunately, my life was not filled with too much joy in my early months. I had puppies, but tragically, they were taken away from me a few days after they were born. Also, I was kicked out of my home and had to find refuge in the cold, dark streets right after I had just given birth. When I was found, I was very thin, scared and sad. Nevertheless, I’m doing much better now and I can’t wait to find a new home! I hope you can consider adopting me because all I want to do is love, be loved and play together! If you adopt me, we will be best friends forever! We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Story
Howdy! My name is Latte and I am a 5 year old Catahoula Leopard Dog (mix). I LOVE hanging out with my people, riding in the car (especially if we go to my favorite spot â&#194&#128&#194&#147 Starbucks for puppuccinos), belly rubs, walks, and treats! Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m gentle, especially with young children, and my favorite thing to do is to play on the trampoline with my doggie friend Zeus! I know basic commands and will â&#194&#128&#194&#156shakeâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 as long as you give me a treat. I weigh about 100 pounds and have the most beautiful eyes â&#194&#128&#194&#147 one brown, one blue! I had been in a shelter briefly when the pandemic broke out. I was adopted, but when things got back to normal, I was returned to the shelter because my adopter decided they no longer needed my company and thought I might be better off in a home that offered more permanent circumstances. When my time in the shelter came to an end, some volunteers rescued me, trained me, and saved my life. Now, I am in a temporary foster home, waiting for my very own person or family who will take me â&#194&#128&#194&#156homeâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 forever. I am spayed, microchipped, heartworm-negative, and up to date on all my vaccines and monthly preventatives. My current foster home has lots of children (of all ages), who are around me all the time. I LOVE them! I am very patient and gentle with children and I love when my kid friends play tug-of-war with me. There are also several other dogs, with whom I enjoy playing (I must admit, I prefer a confident male dog). In all honesty though, I am not a huge fan of cats. I am a very intelligent lady and respond well to instructions. I am pretty true to my breed and would love someone who is familiar with my breed so that I can shine and be the best dog for you! I would love a backyard to play in and spend some of my energy, but once Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m done, I just want to be next to you and be a couch potato. Ideally, I would love to be with someone who works from home, someone I can lay next to all day. Should that someone need to go to work outside the home, I do well in a crate. I am crate-trained, house-trained, and leash-trained (although I donâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t really like loud buses or trucks). My rescuers, who to this day still support me, work long hours and also have cats. That is why I am staying with my foster family, waiting and looking forward to my forever home where I can show you how great of a dog I am! I have lots of Love to give; would you take me home forever and let me show you? I promise, I will be your best girl. Story
I'm Daisy XII! Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m a black dog with white on my underside. Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m a Catahoula/Pit bull mix. I am very smart and can open some doors. I like to bark at butterflies. I love to be outside in a big yard so I can run around. I spend the night in my kennel and eat at 7 am and 5 pm. I usually stay outside. I just know I would be a great indoor dog if I was potty trained or had a doggy door. I have been around chihuahuas and cats but maybe canâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t be trusted around cats. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Daisy XII, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. I am a very loving Catahoula/Pit Bull mix. My name is Cookie V! I love attention. I was born with a stubby tail. If I jump at you, I am only wanting you to hold me like a baby over your shoulder. Mamma Mia! What beautiful blue eyes you have! I am a young lady who has retired from being a mama. My last litter of puppies were the "Starbucks Litter" and they all got good safe homes. Now I need to find a home! The nice man who has been helping me and feeding me is being evicted from his home and cannot take me with him. I am very sad about this but I am ready to go to a new home. I am very affectionate and obedient and I love to learn new things. I am heartworm positive though but I think I can overcome that with help too. Will you be my new parent?

Story
GUEST DOG Maggie was abandoned at a mobile home park in west Dallas. Alone, afraid, and pregnant, she was hiding under various mobile homes. Cathy, an angel to the strays in that area, managed to catch her and get her in to the vet. Maggie was spayed and after recovering, needs a place to call her own. Maggie prefers male dogs and would also do well in a home by herself. She is affectionate and loves to run! She would love to have a big yard to play in too! Maggie is current on her vaccinations and is heartworm negative. Please consider giving Maggie a home. She has a lot of love to give.

Story
This delightfully charming fellow is Manchas, listed as a Catahoula Leopard mix that was surrendered on 4/8 to the Mesquite Animal Shelter. He weighs 60 pounds, is about 4 years old and is neutered. This remarkable boy has lots of personality. He knows the sit and paw commands. He is exuberant and excitable. Sweet boy is playful and loves squeaky toys! He will entertain himself and you when playing with his toys. He sits for treats and takes them politely. This friendly boy is perfectly happy with being petted and loved on. He has the best smile and would truly be a wonderful pet for someone who would stay committed to him, allow him to live inside and give him plenty of daily exercise, playtime, and maybe even teach him a few new commands. He appears to be house trained. He walks fine on a leash.

Story
Let me introduce you to this charming girl I have named Mindy. She was picked up by one of our officers on 8/29 and brought to the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray. Mindy weighs 45 pounds and is about 2 years old. My Dog Scanner app suggests her breed mix as Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog and Entlebucher Mountain Dog with a couple of other minor breeds in the mix. She has such an unusual and beautiful coat along with two blue eyes with one of the eyes half brown. Very unique. She has a calm and gentle nature, and is a bit shy still. She is docile and submissive with a chill personality. She was not interested in either treats or playing with toys and balls. She is friendly and will approach you for attention. She wants to stay close to a human friend. I feel she needs to build confidence and learn to trust. She does respond nicely to loving attention and does not in the least resist it. Perhaps you can tell that this little girl has won my heart! With her personality and nature, it would seem best for her to find her forever home with a laid-back, structured and well-ordered household. She absolutely needs to live as an inside dog and receive lots of TLC and become an important part of the family circle.
