Story
Meet Saucey Sauce, a high-energy, fun-loving dog with the most stunning blue eyes you've ever seen! Saucey Sauce dreams of a home in a quiet area with a spacious backyard where she can play fetch to her heart's content. Tennis balls are her absolute favorite, and she's a pro at fetching, bringing the ball back, and patiently waiting for another throw. Her playful spirit is complemented by her love for cuddles and affection, making her a perfect balance of active and loving. Saucey Sauce may take it slow when meeting new people, but she warms up quickly and loves to give kisses and sit in your lap once she trusts you. Her size is just right-not too small and not too big-making her a great fit for various living spaces. She has a potential for agility, as she loves to jump and climb. One of her favorite activities is dropping her tennis ball down the ramp in the campus play yard and running after it, which is absolutely adorable to watch. This beautiful pup would thrive with an active family who enjoys hiking or has a large area for her to play fetch. If you're looking for a loyal and energetic companion who loves to explore the world and share lots of affection, Saucey Sauce is the perfect match for you. Come meet her and see if she's the missing piece to your family!

Story
Calling all 90's babies, your nostalgic Tamagotchi is looking for a home! Here's just a few of the million reasons you should consider adopting him: -He's such a fun dog and would make a great adventure buddy! He loves to play, swim, ride in the car (although he falls asleep quick), and go on walks. - He's absolutely beautiful. Do you see those markings?! The pictures don't do his coat justice. - He's food motivated and eager to please, ESPECIALLY if you have cheese. He'd probably rob a bank for some good cheese. -He's loyal and affectionate. -He's a staff and volunteer favorite. He's like that cool dude on campus that everyone wants to be like. KEEP READING, we even have some glowing home notes on him! Here's what his foster had to say: - House-trained - Loves playing tug of war and napping - Very smart and isa quick learner. He picked up on house rules quickly and listens well. - Chill most of the day. When we come back inside after taking him out, he wants to play with the ball or rope for a few minutes then he's back to sleep. - Cuddly and loving. He lays at my feet while we work from home. - Hasn't been destructive when left alone Tamagotchi's ideal home would be low traffic, adults only, and with an active family. He does have potential to live with well matched dog siblings. If you're considering Tamagotchi but aren't sure if it's a good fit, please email matchmakers@austinpetsalive.org to get more information and/or set up a meet and greet!

Hi there! I'm Moose, a big, handsome brindle with long, floppy hound ears. I'm playful, smart, and full of confidence. I absolutely love water-swimming and hiking are some of my favorite activities! Balls are my number one motivation, so you can bet I'm always up for a game of fetch or tug of war. I'm already fully potty trained and I adore my crate; just tell me to go to my "home and I'll happily head inside. I'm quick to learn new commands and already know sit, lay down, paw, and kiss. I really enjoy playgroup and getting to hang out with my dog friends. I'm looking for an experienced owner who can keep up with my energy and continue my training. If you're active and can give me plenty of outdoor fun and adventures, we'll make a great team!

Story
Hello, Oso is a 7 year old Catahoula/Great Pyrenees mix. My soon to be ex-husband got him from an accidental farm litter shortly after we started dating. We married soon after and had 3 children together, other dogs (both passed), cats, and chickens. Oso was very loyal to my ex and listened to him very closely, he was very much his dog. Last February, I found out my husband did something terrible, which he will likely be going to prison for. For the safety of my children, I kicked him out and will be divorcing him. He is not allowed contact with any of us pending trial. With my ex out of the picture completely, I have been struggling financially and emotionally. I can’t afford to care for Oso anymore. I’m a newly single mom to 4 kids (1,3,5-autistic, and 10) and I am stretched too thin. Oso deserves a better home. He has been struggling with my ex’s absence as well. He has become very anxious and has been acting out in many ways and I don’t have the time, energy, or money to help him.

Adopted in 2013, this playful pup is house-trained and crate-savvy, and he thrives on outdoor activities like hiking. Rosco is not very good with dogs and can be aggressive. He currently lives peacefully with a cat, although he can get excited and chase cats and squirrels outside. Story
Meet Gretel! This beautiful coonhound is learning pet life with one of our great fosters! She's currently a bit skittish but gaining confidence each hour; once she decides a person is ok she is a total love bug. She has visited our wonderful vet and is spayed and fully vaccinated. She is improving at using the backyard, being on a leash and treats definitely are an encouragement on learning new things. She is very food motivated which helps with training. As she is shy around humans, she enjoys her safe space which is a corner just for her to quietly observe everyone else. She is crate and house trained ,and although she doesn't know many commands, she's great at following directions (her foster can get her to come out of her crate to potty pretty easily and to return to the crate with instruction, but she does not know commands like sit or lay down just yet. She loves to play and has lots of energy! She would do great in a home with another dog. She gets excited about walks, but once outside she becomes anxious and needs leash training. She's super quiet and doesn't react to people or other dogs. She enjoys her safe space. She likes her doggie friends and occasionally gets zoomies. Her first foster mentioned she started staying on the couch for her safe space instead of always in her crate, so she's slowly emerging from her shell to trust humans. As for her stay with our specialist who is working with her on the skittishness, she is becoming accustomed to the dogs there still wary of people but better. It will take time, patience, and training to get her on to living a great pet life. She is now with a great foster, who is well experienced with skittish dogs and working towards her new life as a loving pet. Update Oct 30. Hansel has become buds with Gretel and they now stay in a crate together in the house. While in the house uncreated, Gretel prefers to lounge on the couch while Hansel stays in the crate. Both dogs now wander the yard unleashed and stay within the yard. Although they are both wary of people still they are making great progress.

Meet Mole, the lovable, squishy, and utterly adorable foster pup who's sure to melt your heart! This gentle giant is a master of relaxation and a connoisseur of life's simple pleasures. With his lion-like mane of excess skin and fur around his neck, Mole is as cuddly as they come and always ready for a good snuggle session. Mole's perfect day is a delightful mix of short, sniff-filled walks, car rides (his absolute favorite!), and plenty of nap time. He's a food enthusiast who'll charm you with his adorable dance of joy at mealtime, complete with hoppy paws and a wiggly tail. This older gentleman has mastered the art of being the perfect house guest, never counter surfing and always respecting boundaries. While Mole prefers to be the center of attention, he's made great strides in his leash manners and is indifferent to cats. He's a hit with children, treating them like mini adults and soaking up their affection. Mole's ideal home would be filled with love, maybe a large backyard for exploration, and definitely lots of opportunities for car rides. He's the perfect companion for someone who enjoys a laid-back lifestyle with a dash of adventure. With his squishy wrinkles, gentle nature, and endearing habits, Mole is not just a dog - he's a charming, loyal friend who'll bring joy, laughter, and lots of love to his forever home. Whether he's showing off his basic obedience skills for treats or snuggling up on the couch, Mole is sure to be the cuddly, adorable companion you've been dreaming of!

Story
Say hello to Howie, the lovable goofball who's ready to steal your heart! At three years old, he's come a long way since arriving at his foster home underweight and unsure of his surroundings. Now, he's a healthy boy, spreading joy to everyone around him. Howie's favorite pastime? Napping in cozy spots and following his foster parents around to soak up all the love he can get! He's the king of snuggles, using his adorable paw to nudge you for extra pets. This charming guy is quickly picking up house rules-he's never had an accident indoors! Howie gets along fabulously with his foster brother, a five-year-old male Beagle mix. They have a blast wrestling and chasing each other around the yard, often curling up together for cozy naps afterward. When left alone, Howie is a total champ, usually settling down in his playpen without making a sound. With his goofy personality and loving heart, Howie is ready to find his forever home. If you're looking for a furry friend who will brighten your days and wiggle with happiness when you come home, Howie is the perfect match!
